Literally worse than not having a show at all. Haven't seen a single good impression. Who's approving these line ups? How are big publishers so out of touch with their core audience? Did a bunch of espresso women really stand around a room saying "this State of Play is great! I can't wait to see the reaction!"

For a 30 minute show I'm Gonna give it a B-. Since there's no B- option I will round down to a C.

Astrobot looks really good. Concord is a maybe, but I hate Overwatch so I'm not raising my expectations here.

God of War Ragnarok will be welcome in my Playstation PC collection and I haven't played it yet. So I'm happy about this.

Silent Hill 2 is looking rough. VR games are coming along but still not quite where they need to be. Monster Hunter looks amazing, glad we got to see it here.
 
Industry is fucked.

Playstation each year get worse and worse with each direct because they dont care and have no competition.

MS started getting better showing their games but come out and ends up being shit because they dont know how to make a decent game

No win/win situation atall, nintendo is the only winner here
 
I gave it a B. At least four games I definitely want to play and a couple others I will check out. Plus, I am not in a hating mood.

E really, but voted D because of Astro Bot and maybe Alien VR.

Silent Hill 2 bordeline embarrassed me, and it's the only other game I would have been interested in.

There is a reason so many failed. Because the market didn't support it.

Well we have a new valve hero shooter which will 100% f2p going by valves history with mp games. People will just play that.
 
Even astro bot didn't do anything for me. They should've gone with a cg look or something. Simply more of the same isn't enough for a fully priced $70 game.

The rest was complete shit.

I'm done with Sony. They don't give a shit clearly. German and jimbo ruined my favorite first party studios.
 
I can`t remember the last time I hammered the fast forward button so much during such an event in recent years.
A Monster hunter game that looks like they forgot to upgrade their tech in the last decade can`t save such a shitshow.

One positive outlooks could be that this trash State of Play means we'll have more exciting announcements for gaming at large during Summer Game Fest.

I gave E. Was shit. Face it.

I not buying a Playstation to see PC ports at showcase. They can do blogs and tweets about playstation games coming to PC, not a bloody conference to do so.
 
Very strong State of Play, even though Concord wasn't what I was expecting out of it.

Great pacing, great curation of games, strong first-party titles with release dates, and even the games that didn't interest me (most of the non-Japanese Asian games) at least looked objectively good enough to warrant their spot in an event of this type, unlike some titles from previous presentations that actually really felt like filler.

Second best State of Play ever, only behind the January one because that one had Death Stranding 2, Physint and Judas - all of them some of my most anticipated games ever.
 
I nearly voted A for Astrobot, but I went with B. B because we get to play most of those games this year.

But ultimately, it was all about Astrobot for me - I've been crying out for a proper fun, PS platformer for years.

And can I just add that I called out the use of Sony mascots within the game. No doubt each will provide their own abilities and levels throughout. It'll be glorious.

Stellar Blade and Astrobot are bringing good old-fashioned fun back, and I love it.

Outside of the expected vacuum of misery in this forum, I see this as a pretty solid year for PS5.

A lot of this is a race too. If concord is good and hits before heroes or dead lock, then it could prevent the others to succeed.

At the same time any of them or all could success or fail.

I just want a better version of OW so I'm down to try concord beta this summer.
 
Fucking terrible, Concord looks a massive letdown and thats what I was looking at most for this show. Realy hope the main shlwcase brings the hype later this yr with the PS5 Pro, they need to show some games for it though as right now my PS5 hasnt been used for months.
 
I'll always be up for more Astrobot, and SH2 looked fine to me. Couldn't give two rat farts about anything else shown. D.

D. Sony completely relying on third parties to save 2024. And they did! The first half of the year has been a banger and the second half looks promising but not thanks to Sony. And for what we've seen 2025 it's going to be like that again. Unless you love multiplayer, I guess.
 
In the great metaphorical MMA battle between Sony and Microsoft, Microsoft finds themselves on the mat. Both shoulders and hips completely broken. They've become an immobile stump for all practical purposes. Just waiting for someone to apply the slightest bit of pressure so the ref can stop the fight. Sony just has their back against the cage. Sweating, staring at the ceiling and repeatedly punching themselves in the dick.

And I don't trust a mp game like that from sony to support early if they trying to convince to me to buy it.

I dont mind paying fullprice for sp games but this ain't it.

Astrobot looks great. Rest all just looked the same, and like stuff I've seen a million times before. Nothing interesting all meh…oh I guess I'll pick up silent hill on a discount at some point 🤷‍♂️
 
Solid C for me.
Low expectations given the timing, leading into the slow summer months, and them needing a proper showcase (likely in August/September) to push the Pro... It being a blow-out was never on the cards.

Ballad Of Antara was the surprise of the show for me. Thought it looked really good and a lot (not all) of the footage looked like actual gameplay. Sure it could have been faked up, but usually the camera placement is the giveaway, and there was plenty that seemed representative of something actually playable.

Most of the stuff on show wasn't my wheel-house, but quality seemed overall high.
