Avowed - The only game im excited for, however they didn't show much and from what they showed im not optimistic, im expecting another mediocre game like The Outer Worlds, hopefully its better than that, if its a solid 8/10 game then no complaints at all.
Hellblade 2 - Appears to be the one that will snatch high critical scores, but its not for me at all and i dont care for it, if it ends up successful i will try it (on sale).
Strategy simulation game - i dont care for that, not my type and looks mediocre.
Visions of Mana - not a fan, i dont like Secret of Mana either, think its overrated and boring.
Indiana Jones - I dont like it, i hate Indiana Jones, i cant stand him, cant hear him talk, hated the films found them overrated, my stance has not changed at all since 16 years too (the first time i watched a Indiana Jones in cinema) found it shit, then people told me its the old ones that are good, watched them too, they are shit as well. Just an awful character and series all around, and then to add salt to the wound i also dont like Uncharted, i played Uncharted 2 purely because of mainstream praise and its super shit, like one of the worst critically acclaimed games to me, after many attempt i did find Uncharted 4 somewhat decent, its the only good one in the series. Anyway to end the rant, hate the genre, hate the series, hate the style, hate Machine Games so its a no no from me.

So overall, it could be D, but since it was a show without much gameplay and a lot of time wasting, then i have to give it E.

I wasted 50 minutes of my life to see 11 minutes of gameplay.

Gotta start waiting until after the show and then skipping around the ensuing videos. I facepalmed at having to look at Machine Games' office and just started moving the slider.

I’m stoked as fuck for Indiana Jones (also love MachineGames) but Hellblade being a $50 digital release?

Bruh. The game is looking like such a huge L. This was pretty much THE marquee title for XSX during the reveal and not only is it still not out 3 YEARS into the gen but it’s a 6 hour budget game? Fuck me I’d be firing somebody.

Meanwhile Sony launched PS5 with a new (kind of budget?) Spider-man game but the full-fat sequel just came out and sold hotcakes at full price.

Xbox Game Studios aren’t dropping balls, they’ve completely fucking lost them.

Maybe they just need to let Copilot make their games since whatever the fuck the humans have been doing the past 5 years sure ain’t it.

A - really love the format of these directs. It’s great to hear the passion from the developers themselves and the production values of the show are very good.

Avowed has improved dramatically in the graphics department from the last showing. I was really impressed with how far
It’s come and it looks to be a fun, fantasy adventure in an interesting setting. Combat looks great as well.

Hellblade 2 continues to impress, though admittedly they didn’t show a great deal of new content, which I’m fine with as we will get to experience it for ourselves without being spoiled.

Indiana Jones, THIS. LOOKS. AMAZING. Child hood dream come true and couldn’t be happier with how it’s shaping up. Most anticipated game of 2024.

It had nothing of interest to me.

I wasn’t particularly hyped for indiana and now that i know that its first person (probably old news, but i had no idea) i couldnt care less for it now (i was expecting a third person uncharted/tomb raider clone which SOMEHOW sounded cooler than whatever todd cooked up here)

I was sorta hoping theyd reveal the leaked gears remasters but of course we cant have nice things.

Good
- Indy (I like frst person view in certain kinds of games)
- Ara (turn based strategy yes!)
- Avowed gameplay and graphics look fine to me

Dont care/indifferent
- Square anime game

Bad
- Probably 1/3rd the video was staring at developers talking. Imagine checking out an open house video of a home you want to buy, or a video of a store or manufacturer selling new stereo equipment and instead of showing the product while talking about it, it keep going back an forth to staring at a real estate agent in his office or a Best Buy dude in a blue shirt at the store
- Avowed voice acting. Yellow coat character better suited to a hipster game. Sounded like a college guy doing it from a dorm
- Hellblade 2 (I knew it) is all flash and production values and zero gameplay

Loved Indiana Jones, looked fantastic, much better than I expected, super excited about that one 🤗

Avowed had nice world visuals but I couldn’t get over the bad lip sync. Dumb to zoom in that close in conversations if they don’t get that right.

Hellblade is not really my thing with the story focus and all but it looked amazing.

Either way, still A because of Indy 👌

Exceeded expectations. They were a bit low cause of previous showings of these games.

Very corporate show, everyone knows exactly what to say. But at least they weren’t sloppy so thats fine.

As for each games:

Indi : looks ok, not sure.

Avowed : liked what they said, maybe its combat will actually be like they described?? Liked the visuals this time.

Hellblade : mildly curious.

Went from a D to a C. Indy is warming up on me. Hellblade looks good for the price. Avowed looks like trash. Ari: meh. Mana: ok.

me, i'm going with the second post. developers: listen, i get how much you love what you do, & i'm truly happy for you, but y'know what? you should maybe just shut up & let your game, your work, do your talking for you. because, surprisingly enough, it's actually not about you (which's why, on the day the game releases, we won't all be walking up to you, personally, & handing you $70-80 dollars each), it's about your work! that's what we pay for, because that's what this's all about, & has the value here. which's why that's what we'd like to see more of in these videos, rather than you...

Really liked Avowed and ARA. I only wish they come out sooner but that’s ok.

Hellblade seems like a short linear trip which isn’t my usual type of game but might be enjoyable as a one shot.

Visions of mana looked like crap in what they showed this time.

Indiana Jones looked weird but it’s still a few months away. The gameplay shown looked quite unfinished so worst case scenario it might be delayed.

d, 2024 doesnt look hot, if they dont have more in store.
hellblade is a walking-sim tech demo you'll be one and done in a single sitting.
indy is first person and looks extremely clunky.
suprisingly avowed seems to be the interesting one of the bunch

A solid B, less of the dramatic camera angles of the developers talking like they just got out of a 15 hour firefight in the city of Mosul circa 2005.

No matter what they show or say the poll results will always be the same

Yup.

Problem is video game employees are so emotional, they are begging for attention. And the company assumes gamers will enjoy a game more if they got context Greg the Graphics Guy made it. So while you're playing Hellblade 2 staring at the 12th unskippable cutscene you can also think of Greg who made it. It makes you and him feel better.

On the other hand, you got R&D and marketing in charge of billion dollar brands like Swiffer where one good or crappy sweeper or refill is worth a $100M swing. Arlene the R&D Engineer and Brad the Brand Manager just do their work and dont give a shit that their face and name are unknown. And neither do the customers. They just want to see and know about a cleaning product and where to buy it.

But hey, maybe I'm wrong and gamers get amped up staring at video game office employees while they narrate a video.

I watched the games that I had an interest in and am now no longer interested in them. I'm kind of glad in a way because I'm not taking risks on games that I think might be good, I'm only buying stuff that I know I'm going to enjoy and none of the games shown looked remotely good to me.

I also really disliked the format of developers talking about their game with footage. Just show me a game trailer, no talking.

Boring. Too much useless talking. Everybody has a brain to understand that every single word is just marketing. No real info on the games.
Indy saved the show
D+
I don't get how a multi billion company does not understand that it's better to show a full trailer first then do the interviews which explain each segment of the trailer with additional info.

The fact that there is 30 votes for D gives this forum overall very little credibility as a group.

You can debate a or b easily enough, maybe get to a c if you aren't into these types of games.

A rating of D or below after watching that means you Either:

Don't own an xbox or pc
Or
Don't play video games anymore and put down almost everything
Or
Just having a bad day
Or
Dont really have time for games anymore
Or
Didn't actually watch it at all or just bits

Ok, this forum has little credibility. What does that say about you? Why are you still here if there is no credibility.

Anyway, would give it a B-C. Looking forward to trying some of these games out.

I said as a group, there still a good bunch of great people here, that's why I stick around.
But there's also a subset of bottom feeders that are so badly biased its anoying and should recognized publicly from time to time.

Mr Reasonable

Completely Unreasonable
If I was bias, it would be towards Xbox . The people who are bias are a problem not just in a negative sense. Some folk praise them for the most average shite, that’s a problem, that’s telling them they can do no wrong, that’s a problem.
Yeah, the constant threads on here that relentlessly and unfairly praise Xbox are a big problem...

+ Much less bullshit than I thought, i.e. more gameplay than I expected.
+ Avowed doesn't seem like my thing but it looks like a solid game for fans (Just makes me want a Dark Messiah 2).
+ Ara is interesting and nice of MS to fund something like this. Let's hope they don't ape Paradox' business model.
+ Visions of Mana looks cool and was a surprise to see some gameplay.
+ Indiana Jones surprised me the most, I am actually interested.
- Still not enough gameplay and too much footage of developers talking. Not interested in seeing people chilling on a couch; I wanna see gameplay.
- No Age of Mythology: Retold news at all.
- Hellblade 2 could've used a solid 3-4 minutes of uninterrupted gameplay, imho. Too much talking about the production.
- No Phil Spencer in the beginning wearing a Quake (or another old Activison IP) t-shirt to fuel some speculation about what id Software are doing.
- Promoting Indiana Jones with Todd Howard is not the wisest move right now, imho.

A Solid 6.5/10. Sony need to step their Direct-game up.

I'd give it a solid A. It's nice to have this slate of first party content to look forward to along with all the third party games.

Let me put it this way - I don’t regret selling the Xbox. The only one I had mild interest in was Indy, but now that’s inexplicably a 1st person game. Yeesh.
How can it be inexplicable if the Devs have explained why they have made the choices they have?

Well, DF apparently saw a totally different show.
I only began the vid but in first few minutes we learn that it was a fantastic show with great games.
It's a great new format and they were tired of trailerfests and are happy that devs can speak now!
Indiana jones looks TREMENDOUS and it's a fantastic choice of engine.
Like... what are they doing?! That wasn't even devs speaking what they want. It was clear boring, usual marketing spiel.

edit: I loved riddick and the darkness. Riddick influence is clear, so there is hope it will be awesome. But also, it looked just kinda mid

I am shocked. We agree on something.
Yeah, I just don't care abot indian... it looks just OK, not awful or anything but I couldn't care honestly. Avowed I never cared but I was not convinced to be interested.
Hellblade 2 is something I will play that way or another. I loved the vibe in first one but gameplay was poor and it's not going to change. It's not a system seller but I will just get 2$ sub for a month and that's it... so they won't get money worth form me.
