could you please test if the game has a seamless change from controller to mouse? (if you move your mouse while you are playing with a controller does the camera have any hiccups??)
I want to know if its possible to play with gyro aiming.

Don't know about gyro aiming but both seem to be active as I felt my controller vibrating on my desk while playing with mouse & keyboard.

I will wait for BF sales but will get this to have it on Steam Deck / Ally and main PC. I do like RDR quite a bit and certainly like it more vs RDR2.

This is despite me having PS3 and X360 versions and even digital on Xbox. XSX runs it quite well with resolution boost.

Still, better controls, KBM and 100+ fps I feel is worth it. Plus handhelds. Just not at the $50+ tax pricing.

Just for you two to know, if you got the horsepower required, use DLDSR (1.78 or 2.25) as well as DLAA or DLSS and you will get the best experience possible with DLSS. This will apply downsampling on top which is the best real "sharpening" you can get. It will blow native DLAA and "Nvidia sharpening filter" completely away. I recommend between 0.50 & 0.70 DLDSR sharpening but feel free to experiment.
Try it.
I'd try DLDSR 2.25 + DLSS Balanced and see if performance is still okay.
DLDSR x2.25 + DLSS makes the image much sharper than DLAA / DLSS alone, but DLDSR + SMAA (reshade) also look amazing.

Yes.

No gyro.

Forced pathetic aim assist still there for controller.

I'm seeing on Steam that this port is 10x better than the GTA4 one. Glad to hear it. I'll be waiting for a sale, but I'm really excited to play this again. I have too little gaming time right now anyways.

I'm surprised at how the video says it runs fantastically, and then you see it not being able to hold 60 fps at 720p, which isn't really good for a ps3 game... :messenger_neutral:
This confirms my findings on the CPU limitation of the game. As I said before, it "dips" to about 100fps in towns on a 5800x3d. Which does not bother me too much because there is no stutter. But the game IS relatively heavy on the CPU for its age.
Who in the actual fuck hasn't already played this?

This should be $30 maximum.
I've played it once on 360 on release. Playing this at high fps now is on a whole other level, it's great.

I think this is a sign of the "spaghetti code" rumor that has been circulating about the game for 14 years. The code may be such a mess that they didn't really rewrite it for modern x86 systems, but rather are using some sort of abstraction/translation/emulation layer or whatever to make it work.

Alright, bros. Been spending time with the game for the last couple days and it's damn good. Mods are already coming in hot.

Here's what I'm currently using:
I'm using Ultimate ASI Loader to load the modified files without altering the base game files.

I am actually waiting for Lenny in the GTA forums to release his mod because it will have a easy installer for all the improvements instead of having to manually do it with MagicRDR. Right now its a pain in the ass to install textures like that.

But it's good to see that modders are already working hard on improving the game, I am personally very excited for a HD texture pack, the game really needs it

I'm active over there as well. Unfortunately right now when I merge his loose mod files into the game I end up eventually getting Access Violation errors at specific points. It's somewhat strange since the files in the base game appear to basically be identical for the most part.

I can't be the only one that thinks Red Dead 1 is a better looking game than 2? I know 2 is doing a lot more impressive things, but the overall aesthetic of the first game is just so much better. Feels like you're actually in a Western.

Setting/map/characters/writing/story/pacing/controls. Everything is better in RDR1. Obviously RDR2 is better technically but I see what you mean with "feeling like a Western".

With lesser graphical fidelity, your imagination fills in the blanks

I prefer the wacky and brutal world of the first game. The first game goes harder I feel. Rockstar used to go way harder in general.

RDR2 is not comparable to any game available on XBox One or PS4 let alone a game on 360/PS3. RDR2 is magical both in terms of graphical fidelity and art direction.

RDR1 is indeed overall the better game. rdr2 just has nice graphics and that's it.
