Game is available. Seems to be one of the rare releases that there aren't any deals on. Not sure if I should pick it up right now or check again when I get home tonight.

Looks great with everything set to ultra and DLSS, the shadows improve a lot the cutscenes when camera angles are close to characters. The hud and icons are in HD and you can actually increase the size of the subtitles and other texts in the game. Performance is great but I have a 4090 so maybe I am not the best example. The only issue as I mentioned is that it doesnt have playstation prompts.

This is a good moment to remind some people that in the gtaforums, a guy called Lenny is basically remaking the textures and many other assets to a very high quality and he has confirmed that he is going to work on the pc version and bring all the improvements he already have done

Getting about 100-144fps on a 4070 at 4k in Armadillo. Feels very smooth, not stuttering so far. What is concerning is that the game is CPU limited. The drops to 100fps are not GPU related. So I wonder what happens in problematic areas like Thieves Landing. My CPU is a 5800x3d.

The game is locked to 144fps max. Looks pretty nice. If it stays smooth I am fine with it. Keyboard/Mouse implementation also positive so far.

Judging by the 2 screens above, the game looks extremely dated and straight ported as expected. Switch emulator looks the same.
I hope they optimized it af like 144 fps all time using DLDSR 2880p without FG otherwise it sucks ass completely.
.... And when i see that the game completely lacks support of DualSense, my opinion is it looks like a shit port, as expected again.

I'm really flabbergasted by the $50 for that, this is an insult.

The first thing you notice is how the shitty tank controls from RDR2 are gone and the first cutscene also delivers. God RDR2 was boring.

Those screens are kinda doody, it looks surprisingly nice at 4k.

50 euros is a joke, but for 20 I will bite. Only played RDR once, on PS3, with its shitty visuals and framerate, so PC playthrough will be welcome (and of RDR2 as well, which I also played at shitty framerate on PS4 Pro).

Didn't they recently break GTA V: Online on the deck with some anti-cheat malware?
Not sure. If so that's massively annoying, seems like quite a few devs have this issue with . The sooner company's embrace Linux and configure their games (and if necessary anti-cheat) to be compatible the better.

I'll probably buy it eventually, but I'm not giving them that kind of money for a port. They had all the tools available to remake the game in the RDR2 engine.
... Then it would be $70, because at that point its an expensive production remake, not a port.

I completely understand not wanting to spend $50 on this, but it did probably take substantial work to get this game running on PC, as it was infamously a coding nightmare on the original PS3/360 versions. Imo it's not that crazy of a price tag. I'll definitely buy this and enjoy on both my gaming setup and steam deck, I've never played the original RDR and I felt that 2 was one of the best games of the PS4/XBO generation.

DLAA looked a bit soft to me so I added a little bit of sharpening with NVIDIA filters. Don't really like to do that but it helped.

I'm sort of wondering if I should just go back to RDR2 instead, as I also haven't finished that game, and pick this up down the road. This game is a lot shorter though so I've got more a chance of actually finishing it, especially if I stick to the story.

As with RDR2 I wouldn't recommend DLSS. Just downsample the hell out of it, works and looks nice.

Just for you two to know, if you got the horsepower required, use DLDSR (1.78 or 2.25) as well as DLAA or DLSS and you will get the best experience possible with DLSS. This will apply downsampling on top which is the best real "sharpening" you can get. It will blow native DLAA and "Nvidia sharpening filter" completely away. I recommend between 0.50 & 0.70 DLDSR sharpening but feel free to experiment.
Try it.
I'd try DLDSR 2.25 + DLSS Balanced and see if performance is still okay.

I usually do this but completely forgot today for some reason. I also sometimes try to avoid it because I tend to tab out a lot and have to deal with the much higher res, which isn't that big of a deal.

I just tried 2.25x (5760x2400 from 3840x1600) and performance wasn't affected at all, even with DLSS completely disabled. Definitely the way if you have the power.

could you please test if the game has a seamless change from controller to mouse? (if you move your mouse while you are playing with a controller does the camera have any hiccups??)
I want to know if its possible to play with gyro aiming.

The game crashes for me if i have afterburner running.

Other than that everything seems great as others have pointed out.
I tried it today and it crashed in game when I want to quit and go back to the main menu.

If I quit to desktop, no issues.

Using updated drivers as well. Strange bug for sure.

My man I hate playing with keyboard and mouse and I dont even have one. I have one of those keyboards with a touchpad so I can use the computer from the sofa. I dont think I would be giving you a reliable answer. Let's see if someone here can answer better to you

The mouse moves the camera as you would expect while using a controller.
