...you know what? I've seen pretty much all the content RLM has to offer except the Plinkett reviews.

I've rewatched every single one of his Star Wars reviews, and watched every Star Trek review at least once. To compare, I watched most of Episode 1 once, sat through all of Episode 2, and made it about halfway through episode 3 before I started fast forwarding. I've also never seen a Next Generation movie.

I'll believe it when I see it.

I enjoy BotW and HitB so much that Plinkett stuff is more like a bonus.

Lately i haven't been enjoying HitB all that much, it's like they purposefully watch movies they know they aren't going to enjoy, but it's not as fun as BotW, it comes off more as old man yells at clouds.
Or at least, this is the impression the last episode gave me, it didn't feel as funny and light hearted mockery as the Jack and Jill one, but more of a dry disbelief about Hollywood's cheap blockbusters, even though they knew exactly what they were before seeing them.

Two of the last three episodes had movies that they enjoyed.

BotW is the one that's predictable, although it's funny to discover these shitty movies with them. HitB is the star of the show because it's a real movie review show when all of those have disappeared from actual TV channels - it's funny at times but that's not the point, the point is they have intelligent and entertaining discussions about new movies. Shitting on bad superhero movies is pretty essential to talking about Hollywood.

It gave you that impression because Mike basically said that's what they were doing, right at the start of the review.

"I saw [Transcendence] had a Rotten Tomatoes score of 14%, and everyone was saying it was terrible, so I figured, all the movies that we see in the theater are so great, it's about time we saw a bad one." [/sarcasm]

But RLM's cynicism might not be as harsh as even RLM thinks, because as Lionel Mandrake pointed out recently, RLM is generally positive twice as often than they're negative, with 38 positive reviews to 19 negative ones (12 neutral).

Probably doesn't have to do much with how much they enjoyed a movie, actually.
If i think about a "review" like the Jack and Jill one, it feels like they have some energy and enjoy ripping it, at least.
the latest ASM2 just felt joyless and bored, even the review itself, it was just sad to see, at least for me.

huh, i thought that was supposed to be a good game. looks absolutely terrible

I wish I could tell you, lol. I backed the game the first day of its Kickstarter. I played it a bit when they released a "F2P" multiplayer version before the real thing was even out (It wasn't terribly interesting and micro-transactions were atrociously priced), and I installed it as soon as I got my key, but I haven't played it yet and honestly I have no interest in playing it now for some reason.

It does seem like they were expecting a heavy story based game (I thought so too, tbh) and it looks like it doesn't have any, at least not an interesting one.

It's a shame because it is visually fantastic.

I've seen Plinkett's reviews more than I've seen the movies they're based on. Drastically more.

They make good background noise, and I always find something new to laugh about. I can quote more Plinkett than Ghostbusters at this point.

You know, even if you didn't care for "Stargate", I don't see how you can compare that to Emmerich's following films. "Stargate" wasn't destruction porn. Really the only similarity is the nerdy scientist, and I'd call Jackson a real character, unlike Jeff Goldblum, Dennis Quaid playing Jeff Goldblum, and black Jeff Goldblum.

I think "Godzilla: Final Wars" already answered that question.

Maybe they raise this point in the video but: Why is the ending of Godzilla (98) and The Lost World the same? Godzilla/T-Rex is loose in the big city, they have a Baby Godzilla/T-Rex, that they drive around to lure Godzilla/T-Rex.

I don't think the endings are similar at all, it's just in general, lots of shit is directly ripped off from, or trying its best to mimic, the first 2 Jurassic Park movies.

So the newest HitB references Pizza Rolls. I guess that means we're getting a Plinkett review soon of Jurassic Park 2 and 3!!!

Probably not

Yeah. Puts a lot of similar internet shows to shame.

Critic is good but I remember a review he did with the Nostalgia Chick which looked like she filmed it with a webcam from 2002 in a dirty bedroom with filthy clothes on the bed.

fucking disgusting.

where did you get this

Found it on the RLM subreddit. (They occasionally find some interesting stuff, and Jack posts there sometimes) Didn't realize it was a private video when I posted it.

Also, the Pre-Rec stream has the videos up. They play Dreamcast games.

Edit: Lol. When they're playing the original Power Stone, Jessi mentions that people have been asking her about The New Loud lately. She says she hasn't been in the band for seven years and to not give the other guys any money. Harsh.

I loved the episode of Best of the Worst this was featured on. For $15, that's not half bad. Only copy they had too.

I believe that the Alamo Drafthouse guys found this randomly (as a 35mm film reel) and ended up loving it so much that they now distribute it through their film company (Drafthouse Films)
