Red Letter Media |OT| of Movies, Murderers, and Pizza Rolls

How do they do a Best of the Worst with Space Mutiny, and not even mention MST3K? It's a legendary episode of a show that aligns with the kind of stuff these guys do. Weird.

Lost it.

When the camera was zooming in on Jay during the "what hack would end their horror movie with the dream twist," was that in reference to The Recovered? I never watched that one.

Aiii

So not worth it
So... I guess Jay is big into tentacle hentai... That was, weird. I did enjoy the reactions to him trying to explain his enjoyment of that scene.

I've got to assume it was referring to something they'd done. At first I just figured that was how the episode would end.

the side by side was even better

also, the "camera moving" thing didn't seem to go anywhere. i thought they were going to do something more profound in that haunted house, but that didn't seem to come to pass.

the barbecuing was pretty funny, though.

Speaking of tentacle rape and possessed vines, I could never watch through that scene in the original Evil Dead. Even though it's so old school technically it still grosses me out.

I think I sort of agree with Jay, muppet porn is pretty damn hilarious and entertaining

I wouldn't really put it in the same category as tentacle hentai, because that shit is gross

I finally got around to listening/watching the Halloween commentary, and Jay and Mike were talking about how kids now who grew up with Saw and stuff might find Halloween boring or not scary. I don't think Saw should be compared to something like Halloween. In the Carpenter films, I would compare Saw more to something like The Thing. Which is designed more to gross you out, to make you as outwardly skeeved out as possible, but something that you can walk away from and be done with. I'm of the age group that when I could start 'officially' watching those kinds of movies, Saw was THE thing. Of course, I watched many other horror movies before.

But I saw Halloween afterwards, I'm pretty sure. And Halloween has the same effect on younger kids who didn't grow up with it going by my friends. Saw makes you uncomfortable, makes you want to gag sometimes, but once you leave the theater? The feeling is completely gone. Halloween literally haunts you, everything about its cinematography, its acting, its pacing, and of course, its audio just haunts the shit out of you. Has you thinking about it 5 hours after seeing it. Movie really bugged one of my friends when we saw it fresh. It just seeped under he skin, and that music can still send shivers up your spine.

Probably the most haunting movie ever. It's that or Poltergeist, and I think Poltergeist has an unfair advantage because its terrifying aspects lie more in how it was made and the curse it spawned.

Like that scene where he's trailing Tommy, and the camera is IN the car with him. Holy shit that still skeeves me out.

I only recently started to rewatch Half in the Bag after a long while. The Interstellar one was great. I love hearing their opinions because while not entirely my own, I usually can't disagree with their 'nitpicks' and comments.

Actually I am surprised they didn't nitpick as much as I thought they might have. They touched upon a few of the problems I had, but they didnt really talk about how he 3rd act makes the rest of the movie basically pointless in multiple ways.

I think I'm hard on the film because I expected a bit more of a cohesive story to go along with the spectacular visuals

Mike: I think we discussed this on our show, Best of the Worst.
Jay: Yes-No, Half in the Bag... What's Best of the Worst?
Mike: I don't know.

Star Wars 7? How long are they gonna be out on the sea!?
Not very long, apparently.

Also, Star Wars 7 is clearly Mr Plinkett's territory.

I haven't watched this episode because of spoilers, but they were very forgiving and kind with TDKR, too.

Hack frauds.
They've got a "Skip to [timecode] to avoid spoilers" warning.
