What does the guy mean with "Nintendo is starting to talk"?

It means you should probably stop looking there. lol

This reddit leaker is going all in. Every day something new and it's fun to read, but damn at the same time it's sad at the attention these people need or want. It would be fun if Nintendo pulled some Moby Dick studio stuff but no company has that kind of fun with its customers.

NEX is a fine name and I could see it get used by Nintendo (and used as validation by some of these "leakers" as a result) but anyone can photoshop a logo like that and the chances of someone who has access to that kind of material coming out and leak it is pretty damn low in comparison to some random 3rd party dev's leaks

Interesting. The source is pretty adamant on it being that APU. The console box will likely have to be Xbox One sized to disperse that heat ab cool it.

Would the 4 excavator cores match or exceed 8 jaguar cores?

Excavator is quite a bit more powerful on the IPC front. From a CPU standpoint it would handily beat Jaguar Cores, but the real loss would come in the form of GPU die space.

While I agree he's fakes, legitimate leaks have been piecemeal before, and there's no reason why someone with legitimate info couldn't ALSO be attention hungry
Would love some examples because I don't recall any recent leak using the same/similar "method"

He wants to get fired from his imaginary dev job.

Not the same, but the guy who leaked a shit ton of completely accurate info for Pokemon XY (As I said, including specific pokemon and even new evolution methods, sky battles, Sycamore giving kanto starters) did it in small updates bit by bit. Though I think he did it through a fansite, so there is that

I will probably continue to call the NX by its codename even after the official name is revealed. I do this with pretty much all my consoles. For instance, I still call my N64 the 'Ultra 64', my DS the 'Nitro', my Wii the 'Shitbox', and my Wii U the 'Project Cafe'.

Shitbox? Revoluton?

Here's a question for Thraktor, blu, fourth storm and all the other techies in this thread.

What's the possibility of NX using Bristol Ridge APU that AMD put out this year? Would that wreck the jaguar or puma? Is it affordable? It's 28nm.

Thanks to a certain user for PM'ing me this and posting it earlier lol.
IIRC AMD released an R-series Excavator APU not long ago - 10-15W TDP IIRC. Lovely little signage APUs..

Seriously, here's my heavily biased opinion on the entire 'Excavator in consoles' subject. I'm not a fan of CMT. I think its demise was protracted a lot. CMT's proposition was questionable for desktops, and it would be doubly so for game consoles. Lots of GHz of light IPC and half an FPU per CPU makes sense for a multitude of fp-light, independent tasks - say, a business desktop (think dozens of tabs in the browser, some word processor, some spreadsheet). CMT makes no sense in any scenario where heavy throughput is sought. Its light IPC makes it a poor TDP gen-purpose performer, and doubly so for fp workloads. Yes, we have GPGPU nowadays that can lift a good part of that burden, but then why CMT at all - what's its proposition in a game console? At the end of the day, for every watt of CMT TDP somebody might want to spend for a game console, there's likely a better half a watt of TDP spent on a different piece of tech.

Do you still call your Vita the NGP? (If you have a Vita, ofcourse)

No it's a very stupid name. PlayStation, Wii... those are brilliant names. Vita and Wii U were ass though.
How is it stupid? It has a nostalgic ring to it with the NES and Super NES.

Ah ok. So it may be unwise and unlikely for Nintendo to use the Bristol ridge then. My second hand info may not be right then.

It won't be easy to pronounce in all the different accents. Ending it with an x does that. Also it reminds me of "necks".

People thought we were getting Nintendo Entertainment ______ last time, and then we got Wii U.

So is the leak fake?

I haven't been following this thread that much. Is it confirmed a fake leak?

Or does it have some validity to it.

That was just my opinion. AMD might be handing those excavators for free these days (along with some exquisite cu heatpipes) so who knows.

The most recent reddit drifted between blatantly fake and maybe not. Then I got to this part:
The leaks about the 2 different controllers are indeed true. In general, this is a very good console and a new time for Nintendo to gain back support of third-party devs and core gamers in general.
...and nope.
