Super Switch was the correct name. Lame.
Nope. They don't want to confuse their customer base again after Wii U. People may interpret that as a pro version of Switch 1. Especially if switch 2 looks like switch 1.

I mean I would love it if they called it the Super Switch! But switch 2 is more sensible.

The sad thing is, Super Switch SHOULDNT be a confusing name…but the average consumer is a weapons-grade idiot.

The C button is probably to instantly set up a credit line with Nintendo so they can somehow charge you up the ass for games you already own.

It's either that or a "Cease and desist" button that lets users report legal violations directly to Nintendos lawyers.

Also, Metroid Prime 4 as a launch title will basically guarantee that two games will be bought at launch

If MP4 were a launch title I feel like they would have released MP2 and MP3 remasters by now. I could see Nintendo releasing MP2/3 just before or after launch and then MP4 by Fall 2025.

While holding your arms out with no support? Won't people get arm fatigued doing this?
That's been the control scheme all the way back since the Wii-Wheel.

But you don't really hold your arms out like an actual wheel from what I recall. It's basically just a more comfy way to play using tilt control as you would if you only used a JoyCon without the wheel, or the gyro in a DualSense/Switch Pro controller for that matter.

What If: Nintendo spent the last 1-2 years training Switch 2's DLSS so that it doesn't launch in "baby mode" like Sony launched PSSR (where it's basically still learning to compute with multiple resolutions/fps, etc)...? 🤔

Would they need to do that if Switch 2 is using the already existing DLSS?

Good point, in that case DLSS 3.8 is lightyears (exaggerating) ahead of PSSR which by comparison is "just starting to learn".

Switch 2 games will most likely be doing things not even Steamdeck or ROG Ally can do...

From I remember Switch 2 has DLSS 3.5 but without frame generation. Will be interesting to see what DLSS can do in a closed system.

I really hope Switch 2 gets analog triggers this time. I couldn't get any racing games due to the lack of them on the first one. Felt like I was transported back decades in time when I realized it.

Would be great for when they (hopefully) add GC to Nintendo Switch Online as well.
Don't get your hopes up, there's no reason for them to have them on gamecube and abandon them after this. Except maybe Nintendo's classic stupid takes like: "We didn't use it in our games so we dropped them"

Yeah, would be nice but I don't expect it at all.

Iirc there were supposedly components for GC controllers being shipped alongside components for the Switch 2 in the shipment data that people on Famibords have been following.

So I'm fully expecting them to just make a new round of GC controllers during the Switch 2 generation and sell those instead.

Gamecube virtual console controller?

I never thought we would get the N64 controller but here we are.

Could be, I think that's what most are hoping for. But could also 'just' be for a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Deluxe/Switch 2 remaster. Or something else entirely, I guess.

Looks real I guess, and even if it isn't it'll probably pretty much be what we end up with either way.

Maybe the '+' is just related to the magnetic connection/charge, positive on each side of the console and negative sign on each side of the JoyCon (?).

That image looks fake / AI generated to me. Fingers are fucked up, watch over sleeve, cables in the background seemingly going nowhere...

Yeah for sure, if they make a new round of GC controllers, it's gonna be for a new smash game and not for them to finally get to GC emulation.
