Completely disagree. MK8 is old as fuck and the DLC they launched were tracks directly ported from the phone app. I've been tired of that game for at least 5 years by now. Leaving that aside, MK as a franchise has universal appeal for both enthusiasts and casual audiences and it can be played solo, local multi and online. I think it's a fantastic choice for a launch game.
Yeah, I shouldn't dismiss it before I see it. It's just not my first instinct for a marquee game, and I already have concerns that the launch line up will be thin.
While chip supply could be a factor, my main theory of the Switch 2 delays are that it was initially going to be marketed as a Pro console, with a true successor later that was maybe less Switch-like.
So it initially would have focused more on playing Switch games with an enhanced experience rather than new exclusive games. But when they scrapped the other thing they made the Switch Pro the new gen, but they needed actual next gen software ready, hence delays.
