Remedy's Future Projects Roadmap: Max Payne Remake 2026, Control 2 in 2027, Alan Wake 3 in 2029, Control 3 in 2030

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
From their recent investors reports.

Note that Max Payne Remake is basically both the first and second game combined into a single remake. So it's gonna be a petty big thing.

Update:

You may want to correct this title as this screen cap might not be from official data that came from Remedy's presentation for investors. Looks like it came from a Finnish analyst company called Inderes and Remedy's future projects are just estimation that was mentioned on their analysis. Remedy themselves only said during their presentation they have one more unannounced project in development beyond ones that are already official (Firebreak, Max Payne Remake, Control 2). They didn't said it is Alan Wake 3 or Control 3

Alan Wake has the potential to be something amazing I think

there is so much potential there. I played the first, and something just felt off.

I think if they could improve the story slightly and make the combat a little less stiff it could be something amazing.

then again I'm obsessed with anything that gives Twin Peaks vibes

If AW2 had the quality of combat of Resident Evil 4, it would probably have gone down as the best horror game ever. It was shockingly mediocre. Which was dissapointing, especially considering the combat in Control is quite good

Ambitious slate. If they're efficient and still manage to put out genuine non-rehash sequels to Control and Alan Wake, then it would be a great example to the industry.

Remedy has grown quite a bit the past few years. Tencent invested a decent amount of money into them recently. They reportedly have 400+ employees. Good enough to balance a few projects simultaneously

Super excited for Max Payne! So many memories from playing it back in the day and thinking it was the best thing ever

I think it's great that a studio like Remedy can reveal to us that they have literally nothing original planned until the 2030's, and it's just remakes and sequels to mid-selling games. Truly a winning strategy.

Brand new original IP is too expensive at the AAA level now.

Which is wild to me because we have more SDKs, better development tools and computers that are 100s of times more powerful than those in the past.

But is what it is.

Won't get the 3rd, is owned by Rockstar.

Rockstar/Take Two own the Max Payne IP entirely.

Remedy are working with them for the remake. If R* commissions them to remake the third, they'll do that.

They're very optimistic about FBC: Firebreak huh?

I've played every remedy game since Max Payne and generally love Remedy games. Firebreak looked like a skip... I suspect this chart is going to have a huge revision in scope this year.
Same I love remedy. This firebreak game is going to hurt them and the only question is how bad will it be.

Wow, that is way out there. I am only really interested in Max Payne.
Yep, Max Payne could be interesting if they are combining both games. Hope they don’t f it up! 🙏

Oh, and also please don’t make it Epic exclusive again. Unless you hate when your games actually sell on PC.

I'm kind of ok with that? I absolutely loved Alan Wake 2 for starting to string all their IPs together into the remedy verse. Control and Alan Wake map perfectly onto each other. I just wish they'd tighten up the gameplay and realize it's important too.

There's no chance that Control 3 would release only 3 years after 2, not when Remedy is trying to up their game and make their sequels bigger & longer. I'm happy that Alan Wake 3 is planned, even though I didn't like many things about AW2. They need to give people come closure after that ending of 2.

They need to close Wake’s story though rather have it sort not go anywhere

Can’t wait for MP remake, they are among my favorite games, hopefully the remake will be worthy.
Also, surprised about the planned Alan Wake sequel, I was sure we will never get another.

Another studio that used to make lots of original IP turning to nonstop remakes and sequels

We just had a showcase with over 50% new I.P. and people here complained that they didn’t see their favorite sequel, remaster, or remake.

Nice. Love their games and their way of storytelling. I see it's not for everybody but in today's landscape this is welcoming different. Love it. Especially for the MP remake... these games with state of the art visuals... damn.

There's very likely going to be delays. They're not making all that by 2030 but looking forward to them regardless.

Cool, I guess, but it looks way too fucking ambitious. Maybe they are optimizing their development to do 2 Control games at the same time in a way that they can just spit out part 2 in 3 years.

Control sequels and max Payne have me interested.

Alan wake 3 will probably buy, bit I've struggled to get through Alan wake 2 so far. I like the story but the pacing is a bit too slow for me

Maybe if they turn it more into something akin to resident evil. Could get behind that more.
