  • Halo Combat Evolved Remake is being made the same way Oblivion Remake
  • They've been hiring people with knowledge on old Halo game engines

Oh yeah, the excellent and so trustfull Virtous.
I feel pity for Halo fans. They are in for decades worth of waiting for patches to fix the game.

I'll give it a fair chance. (Especially if that means we're getting our first modern mainline halo game to have flood since FUCKING HALO 3)

Oblivion was stuttery af but lets be real, running like shit is bethesda's bread and butter

I guess the hope is there are enough PlayStation fans who've never played Halo, who will be curious/excited enough to buy this for PS5? That seems like a bad bet for a game that old.

Halo is dead and buried and no one gives AF about it anymore. No one gave AF about the shitty paramount show, no one wants to play anymore of 343 studios shit tier games, and no one gives AF about a nostalgia trip for a series that has sucked ass for years. Move on.

If MCC comes to PS5 think at least 1 million PS5 players will show on the first month. Some out of curiosity, some due to nostalgia, and some because they switched after the 360.

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph Microsoft....it's like you're looking down a checklist at all the ways you can destroy what little bit of credibility you still possess and just chicky checkin them boxes all the way down with a big fuckin smile on your face.

This is becoming more fascinating than sad at this point, and I kinda wanna see where this dead engine plane lands.

I still wonder what it will take to truly break the toxic positivity gamers. You know, the ones in total denial at how bad the state of the industry is in 2025. The ones who say "it's never been a better time to be a gamer" despite actually good games being so few and far between that entire years to by without so much as single 10/10 game, the likes of which we used to get multiples of PER YEAR from 1995 to 2005. What the fuck even happened? Is it graphics progress putting too much of a strain on dev times? Is it outsourcing to India and other 3rd world countries? Is it extreme political activism being shoved into games in unfun ways? Probably all the above and then some. All I know is, I'm 38 years old and there's never been a worse time to be a gamer. I truly feel for the younger kids growing up in this era with absolutely nothing to be excited about.

Not withstanding the technical Issues on the Oblivion remake.

I feel like Oblivion remake for me was remembered better than what it actually was, which was proved when trying to play with those antiquated systems.

Halo:CE and all the tracking back on yourself will be the same

Those gamers aren't playing these games nor are they focused on just these games. They're not solely sticking to AAA and big I.P. and they aren't waiting on those old guard companies to hand them scraps of content. They have moved on.

Xbox as a whole has had a direction and management issue for years. Someone else can answer the rest of this, I'm sure they will give the usual cultural talking points that will be a satisfactory answer.

The younger kids aren't paying attention to this and they don't care. The only reason they even hear about some of it is because our generation (their parents and uncles/aunts) is using most of our energy to complain about it.

Most of us have played through Halo 1 so many times solo and co-op. Finding it hard to care about this. Out the gate I would only consider it on a deep sale. $25 - 30.

So this will be the PS5 version and not the MCC.

Feels bad man.

Maybe. It could be both.

Next month, Halo Studios are revealing the Halo projects they have in the pipeline.

It could be this remake, as well as the MCC collection for PS5 and Switch. Maybe a surprise as well like Halo Wars 3.

yes, the anniversary remaster ran pretty poorly with its stutter issues and it was using the pc version as a basis which had issues with its ui compared to the original xbox (plus missing effects in classic graphics mode)

On top of that, I hated the artstyle. They made the backgrounds busy and darker with that blue filter, and enemies frequently blended in making focusing difficult.

Whenever i play cea on mcc (which performance wise runs waaay better) i just stick either classic graphics for the aforementioned reasons.

Halo 5 also had similar issues, too much shit happening on screen at once with overly complicated designs in the background

I like your optimism.

I just don't have much faith in this industry at the moment.

To be honest, I have never believed that MCC would make it to the PS5.

Nate the Hate did say it would happen, but I don't think he's right 100% of the time and as it stands, he might have got the MCC rumour wrong.

We'll find out next month. If it doesn't get announced at this event then it's not happening.
