Report: Microsoft has laid off their DEI team, shutting down diversity division

MS has the money. Just buy whatever badges they need.

For those of you who don’t know, you know a lot of eco friendly products have claims or some kind of seal of approval?

Guess what? There isn’t some government approved process issuing out tried and true green badges. There are companies that sell suppliers to use that badge in their products. No testing or BS required. Your company’s marketing department budget has the money and you can do it.

That’s not how eco brands like FSC work, at all. And certification is a massive deal. It is the reason MS is spending a ton of money on building A.I. computing centers in Sweden (Google claimed Finland), to meet green energy requirements.

It has nothing to do with "Project 2025" or whatever, that is just coping. It has everything to do with interest rates. DEI was a byproduct of Institutions such as Blackrock offering loans and investiments to companies that were following ESG protocols. As a consequence, companies filled their HR department and manager positions with women and minorities to attract investments from such institutions. They even created whole departments such as DEI that are completely useless and only serves for big and loud Shaneequa to make seminars about how every employee is "le evil".

When the Fed raised interest rates Blackrock and the others deemed that kind of strategy too risky and distanced themselves from it. Now without that moneraty incentive, Silicon valley companies(including video game ones) have all this redundant diversity hires on their payroll and they have to get rid of them.

This Project 2025!!! panic is ridiculous. Most people haven't even read it, and it's a heritage foundation manifesto that Trump has explicitly distanced himself from.

You don't need Project 2025 to convince businesses to quit it with this stuff. It sucks. People are sick of it. It doesn't bring in more revenue at it's best, and guarantees more drama and legal risk at worst. It doesn't increase team or product quality.

It doesn't even bring all that much diversity. Frankly, as DEI ridden as the tech/entertainment sector have gotten, the majority of the beneficiaries appear to have been white women who are willing to suggest some kind of sexual fluidity.

I’m at work so I don’t have the link on me, but in Canada major federal contracts do have DEI kinds of requirements. It has to do with Supplier/Vendor application agreements.

So if your big corporation wants to qualify bidding and winning a contract you got to do DEI kind of stuff. The link even gives examples like ensuring your company has an employee pool representation of minorities, women etc….

So in other words, the company needs to have demographic quotas to qualify.

Crazy.

Thank fucking god. Hopefully, many more companies follow suit, I'm tired of this shit.
Tech sector is full of this shit.

I don’t think most traditional companies are. We have some jammed in culture and whatnot stuff. But in reality it’s just an excuse for someone to order Mexican food or Indian food. After the lunch is over it’s back to work as normal.

I bet there were a few that just interviewed well or "ticked the box" and were happy to have a job.

Just thinking of those peeps
Yea I could see that. Probably HR people going over to where the new money is, the current fad.
They knew when to get in, but didn't know when to get out. It's been pretty obvious the view of DEI has changed for the last year or so.

It sucks that they chose a path of destruction. Of others and ultimately of themselves.

These people need a new career path.

There are competitive advantages to being vet owned, minority owned businesses, etc. and other potential laws that encourage diversity. A good procurement office would be able to capitalize on their status to win work, for example.

DEI is just a subset of what HR would be doing anyway. It'll all get rebranded back to where it was before.

DEI and any topic even remotely related slowly became so toxic it'll damage your product and brand today.
Doesn't matter if it's objectively true and good, the problem is how it's presented and even normies are starting to take notice, get annoyed and talk about it.

If Concord fails spectacularly, it's time for Sony to bring out the axe too. You can't sacrifice a multimillion dollar product on the altar of diversity anymore. Like Disney/Pixar did with the Lightyear movie back in 2022.

Good!

Burn the whole fucking shitshow down.

DEI was always and always will be a monumental institutional con and epic gift. These motherfuckas add no value to organisations. They exist to exclude straight white men from leadership and success in their roles.

MS is learning finally that DEI, when given C-suite positions on the board and entire departments to run, will not prop up the company publishing DEI metrics that paint your organisation as inclusive to boost your ESG score. These motherfuckas were trained on a diet of Ibrahim X Kendi and anti-white hatred. They are conditioned to twist reality in order to come up with a justification to call you racist, bigoted, violent or toxic. That is their REAL objective.

MS, you were deluded into thinking that by giving them high paid positions and a voice on the board, they would reward you with loyalty... fucking lol! Instead, these nutty purple-haired non-binary black lesbian communists will tear you down like the patriarchy you represent, only to attempt to try to consolidate all your power and wealth among themselves; that they will ultimately hoard and embezzle, because they're morally bankrupt and corrupt to the core.

DEI was always a scam to put hateful racist people in power so that they can try to up-end society by oppressing straight white men and bring communism to the West. Companies like MS fell for it. But at least now, the scales are falling from their eyes.

in which the lead also accuses the company's executive leadership of "investigated and evidenced discrimination, harassment, and toxicity

The shocking part in all of this is that a divisive industry of grifters who the moment things don't go their way they start accusing their former employers of all kinds of heinous shit was allowed to exist this long. I mean look at this shit, how the fuck is this in any way professional?
