So Sony didn't release the PS4 Pro specs. This kinda pretty much killed the hype for it.

Yeah, the ball is pretty much on Nintendo to deliver the hype or meltdowns at this point.

Scorpio wins in those terms, not that I care so much when i saw the gameplay trailers.
They said double the power of the cpu or gpu? Sad they changed it to Pro, i liked neo more

It's time for the real deal. I want a NX terminator device that could change in shape/form.

Miyamoto is in America, what if he's here for the week? what if? you know where i'm going with this.

From reddit...

Did me thinking if this could be means more??
Nintendo is not having an NX reveal event in <3 weeks when it hasn't even been announced. They might film something with him there, but I imagine he has enough time to go back to Japan
No, Nintendo is not going to schedule the NX reveal around saving money on Miyamoto's plane tickets. Jesus Christ.
Probably a better way of putting it, lol

An NX press release would be more exciting than the PS Meeting.

If it's a handheld, that's pretty good already. That's just what the current high-end smartphones have in minimum. And with SD card support I'm assuming, it's easy to expand it to more than double for cheap.

You're right that there's really no clear cut market leader when it comes to consoles. But Nintendo's hardware sales do not work the way like Sony does. While 3rd parties do help console sales in general, in Nintendo's case their first party games have always been their hardware driver in sales. The handhelds with Pokemon, the Wii with Wii Sports, Wii U with Mario Kart 8, etc. Only a few exceptions in 3rd party really help Nintendo's hardware sales, like Monster Hunter, Dragon Quest and recently Yokai Watch.

In Sony's case, 3rd parties carry their boat because those are their best and most popular games. Aside from Naughty Dog's games, the Sony system sellers come from companies like Square Enix, Konami, EA, Activision, etc. Basically, 3rd party games.

The Super NES disagree's with you. Majority of gamers only have loyalty to the games, not the console they are played on. RE fans bought GC's for RE1 Remake and RE4, Bayonetta fans bought or borrowed WiiU's for Bayonetta 2.

If the next great shooter title is on the NX gamers will show up. The casual gamers who bought the Wii, purchased it for Wii Golf, Wii Sports. The problem Nintendo did not prepare for is these casual gamers are not generational.

Assuming they even do a conference (which, if you ask me, is a 50/50 chance).

They're not going to do a conference. It'll be a Digital Event, maybe with some hands on time for the press.

Conferences are only better for the people in the room. A Digital Event gives them better control over messaging, without awkward pauses and Ubisoft or EA CEOs taking 10 minutes to talk corporate philosophy in the middle of Nintendo's event.

If Nintendo rides this wave of Sony disappointment early and drops an NX megaton, I will eat every single one of my words regarding their marketing incompetence.

And I will do so with the biggest smile, like you can't even believe.

I think Nintendo could overshadow the PS4 Pro with the NX as long as they don't have the Zodiac Killer present the thing. Mark Cerny gave off some serious sociopath vibes today.

Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage
The Sony event kinda made me see the weaknesses of a live event lol.

A taped, edited event is FAR better for a reveal like this. It allows for information to be clear, concise, and prevalent.

Sony suffered from a lot of "it's fucking nothing" today. They have cool tech and it will probably end up impressing people once they get it, but it was a hard sell for a conference like that. Too much corporate and tech jargon, and a lot of stuff that just doesn't translate through a web stream.

Also Miyamoto struggling to read the script in English at the Apple Conference doesn't inspire confidence for a live event.

Just hope they have a live stream of the event being played at Nintendo World so we get crazy fan reactions.
