I'm not assuming anything but I'm also wouldn't be surprised if it is late September.

The people of GAF believed that the September NX Direct would again come to save them... But the September Direct did not appear. Nintendo's been pretty big on courting streaming video content for their platforms (Wii, 3DS, Wii U) so I don't see why not. 4k video would be a nice feature to promote.

It's a weird coincidence, but it's kind of silly to imagine a bunch of people getting together and saying "okay, to get past the NDA, let's just all say we're going on vacation at the same time".
Because that's about the latest to reasonably expect it and we're all gonna die of anticipation if we don't step back a little.

You know, at some point, you just gotta' take some time off. It'd honestly be silly for him to base his vacation time around an NX reveal that has no set date.
Shigeru Miyamoto is in the US, Nintendo guys are going to Japan for vacation, deafening silence from previous insiders.
The stars are lining up. September 14th is the date, book it.

What if Nintendo is waiting for this topic to be closed to announce the NX reveal date? Think about it, we've been getting new NX news, a day or two after, everytime a topic closes. What if Nintendo said "ok once this latest rumor topic is closed we'll finally talk about the NX!"?

Yeah, but Nintendo could take journalist to Japan to actually play the thing before the announcement. Then, when the NX is unveiled in NY, the press could talk about the games.

That's right, he doesn't just cover Nintendo stuff. Previews and reviews games on all platforms.
I think he is just going as part of IGN's team covering TGS, then maybe staying there after TGS for vacation.

Easy, big fella! Let's not get all serious here all of a sudden. I think it's pretty obvious we're just having fun with somewhat ridiculous speculation. Who knows, there could be something to it - if not, it's just a bit of fun.
Some people were speculating he might be covering NX stuff in Tokyo and vacation is just a coverup. And I'm saying I don't think he's there for anything NX related. Just the typical IGN TGS coverage of playing stuff on the showfloor, then taking a vacation in Tokyo while he is there after IGN's coverage is over.

I'm not sure WTF sugar free apple juice is, and everyone should drink real apple cider instead of apple juice, but gluten free oatmeal is delicious.

The NX is like the industry's best kept secret right now. I'm still not convinced that the Eurogamer report is 100% accurate. It feels too cumbersome. I can't wait to finally know for sure!
