I have a 4070 so i will wait for the 6070 or 7070 when it comes out to upgrade.

On 3060ti myself, I was never comfortable buying it with 8GB but I really wanted to move on from the RX480 I had.
I'll be interested in what a 5070-5060 range card can offer this time around.

I used to be into top of the line gaming rigs when I was younger. Back when you could build a top of the line PC for £2000.

Now you need that just for the top GPU. Throw in the other parts, plus a decent monitor and I'll be looking at well over £5k.

If you plan to just use this for just gaming. I’m not sure why you would need this card over the 4090. Most of the games releasing isn’t going to take advantage of the power of the 5090.

Only game I could think of that would have me even considered a 5090 is GTA 6 and that won’t be on PC until like 2026.

I'll be buying a 5090 and a new monitor. Undecided on a new monitor and moving my primary to a secondary or going for a large curved display. Kind of leaning towards the former since I also work from home and it's nice having multiple.

Look, if it's compatible with the new power supplies I got for the 12VHPWR connection then I won't complain.

AFAIK, the new connector is just a revision of the ATX 3.0 standard (now ATX 3.1) to make it safer (and relax power requirements for companies to get cert):

Seriously. They're pricing it so far from the 4090 that the price on that probably won't go down because it will still look like a value. And the marginal upgrades of all the other 50 series cards will likely keep 4080, 4070, etc. cards more or less at the same prices.

We've been through this multiple times. No need to pay for online either, cheaper day 1 prices, etc.

A 5090 is for a completely other league of performances. You aim for that if you want path tracing cranked to the max
