Let's not forget that Steele is not the only source for these claims. BBC is reporting at least one other source.

Again, this entire affair if true is completely outside of what is in the Constitution. It's not like Hamilton wrote a section with "In the unlikely event that a foreign country interferes in our electoral process to aid in selecting a treasonous demagogue and our method of stopping it(The Electoral College) fails to, do the following".

This is something completely outside of the Constitution, there's literally nothing about what to do if this occurs in the document.

That's definitely true. We'll definitely have to see what happens tomorrow. I think it's more likely we see him inaugurated, and then impeached almost immediately.

Section 3 of the 20th Amendment likely applies:
Section 3. If, at the time fixed for the beginning of the term of the President, the President elect shall have died, the Vice President elect shall become President. If a President shall not have been chosen before the time fixed for the beginning of his term, or if the President elect shall have failed to qualify, then the Vice President elect shall act as President until a President shall have qualified; and the Congress may by law provide for the case wherein neither a President elect nor a Vice President elect shall have qualified, declaring who shall then act as President, or the manner in which one who is to act shall be selected, and such person shall act accordingly until a President or Vice President shall have qualified.

If the allegations are true or Congress feels they would harm his Presidency, they could decide that the President fails to qualify for office and thus the VP Elect would act as President until someone else qualifies. So, it's not automatically Pence.

Maybe I was wrong in assuming that most of the alt-right goons just wanted to give Trump the benefit of the doubt and look positively on his Russian relationships, but they are actually supporting him in light of *actually* possibly being a puppet while simultaneously recognizing that this is something that must not come to light if actually true?

What a weird bunch of people. Maybe there are far more paid Russian operatives online than I ever imagined.

The only devils advocate there is if the piss story is bunk, it had to come from somewhere. He's put it in the portfolio. When things aren't true someone, or some people have made it up/lied.

I can't imagine Pence can escape from the "failed to qualify", considering he's the fucking Vice-President Elect. Pence had 3+ months to disavow himself from the shitstorm that was Trump but he continuously defended him.

So what, President-Interim Paul Ryan until New Elections can be held?

More like Paul Ryan ascends to the presidency and the GOP has control of the house, senate, and their establishment golden child in office for 4 years at least to do whatever they want.

Either way the GOP is still going to come out on top after all this which is a damn shame.
