You know what I love? How mods abstractly lock threads like the CP2077 review thread because it would be allegedly "harmful" for the "trans" members. As if that kind of thread would legitimately harm a single fucking person.
But you know what they love to leave open? Threads that relentless shit on a single person, verbally abusing and harassing them to no end, based on a version of a story they decide to be true. Aka this one, the perpetrator being the fucking GameExplain dude. You'd think after 32 pages of shitting on him and dissecting his apologies, the thread could be put to rest. But nope, need to keep going, maybe until, oh I dunno, he kills himself or something? There's been a few people begging the mods to lock it bc of the harm it is causing him, but nope, those calls fall on death ears. These are the threads that prove that there isn't a shred of real empathy in that place, no matter how much they love to pretend. I don't give a shit about the dude, but I find these pile-ups just gross.

Era is a too trigger happy in general so their reputation is undermining this situation I feel. But even Era isn't a monolith.
I looked into the situation, because I've been watching GX for years. And what that guy has done is abhorrent, he's the stereotypical manipulative, greedy CEO/boss. And he tried to get out of it by playing the victim, much like how some Era posters are ironically, but he also loved Era and fit right in there.
At the end of the day this is not our battle, but that of the ex and current employees of GX. But the discourse around situations like this one is important, not only for healthy work environments, but also for people like Andre so they can reflect and change how they manage their employees and company. I hope for him that he doesn't get death threats and shit and that he can separate the trolls from the criticism. But that's on him to do, he's a grown ass man.

Why is the Giant Bomb thread closed for being "too negative and personal" when the subject of that thread is a personality-driven website? It's pretty much the reason why people go to Giant Bomb in the first place, not for the written articles or in-depth coverage of games but the crew itself and their views on the industry (for better or worse). Sure people were becoming increasingly critical of the website (rightfully so imo) but are we now no longer able to discuss these things without being negative? Forgive me if I'm wrong but I didn't see anyone calling for the cancellation of individuals or to rile up others to take "action against Giant Bomb because reasons". All people were doing was airing their grievances or sharing videos (or opinions) of good GB content in a normal manner.
What gives?
