Kamiya please go back to twitter. Your best game is getting a proper remake.

I dont actually like RE2 that much so its not like i consider it to be some untouchable classic. there is plenty of stuff the remake has a good shot at improving on but that bit isnt one of them.

Guys exactly as the Sony Showcase trailer hinted at 2:51 the Licker reveals itself in the corridor outside the S.T.A.R.S. room

Chapter 3 of Moga Mogami's Biohazard RE:2 challenge

This will be a good series to watch after playing through the game. I also wonder if Mogami will continue the adventure on her own.

Holy shit I can't believe we're actually days away from this happening. I didn't think we'd ever get this.

Great OP, by the way. Thank you!

I really want that this Claire outfit of the RE original is free!

Nice OT! Going media blackout on this one. Never played the original but I’m so ready for this.

I guarantee its replacement is going to suck.
Leon's delivery and the song kicking in was the best part of the original game.

Before we go that far, wait for the Licker's entrance.
The licker is one of the most classic creatures of the RE lore and its entering cut-scene had unquestionable gravitas, tooth and punch when playing the original RE2 back in the day.

Not to mention Licker's were just flat out dangerous because their leaping strike could 1 shot you at near green health. ( I remember it killing me when I was "fine" but almost yellow after taking a hit)

Licker's were my #1 death back in the day when trying to A rank to unlock Hunk.

Bought the standard edition. If the game will turn out as awesome as I hope it will, I hope Capcom releases either a dice edition upgrade or a dlc containing deluxe edition content.

Asked Kamiya what he thinks of the remake now it's happened and he blocked me after I'd been following him for like 8 years. RIP.

Dropping the HUNK and TOFU reveal and not keeping it a secret for unlocks must show they have more content. Not sure whether to start it after I finish with work week or during on evenings.

Leon Scott Kennedy (Picture in Spoilers) - Upon graduating from the police academy at the age of 21, Leon requested assignment to work for the Raccoon Police Department. His reason of choice was because of the widely publicized murders taking place in and around the Arklay Mountains. Having recently broken up with his girlfriend, Leon stopped on his journey to Raccoon City by staying at a motel overnight. Oversleeping from drunkenness a day late on September 29, he rushed back onto the road when he wasn't able to telephone into the station. Leon drove through Raccoon City while completely unaware of the t-Virus outbreak, after the US Army and the National Guard evacuated some of the blockades in the city's outskirts.
I see what you did there...

The Ghost Survivors mode announced as free DLC, no date yet.

It tells the story of sub-characters, some sort of side story --> Robert Kendo, the Mayor's daughter and another individual (USS Member not Hunk)

Join the club, yo. It's your own fault for attempting an interaction with him :messenger_tongue:

You should be able to use your browser's equivalent of incognito mode to keep reading his tweets if you still care to, assuming that he's blocked you from viewing also.

Announced via this stream, for those of us who are too skeptical to use Dusk Golem or Era as a primary source:

This will be my first time playing the game.

Coming from finishing REmake and having played the one shot demo, I'm thinking that this game will no be as scary as REmake.

REmake really set a new bar for me. It's a masterpiece. Now I understand why my little self could not play the game when I was a child.

Oh come on! You can give us these ps1-esque models (what's the point unless it does everyone else in the game? They're gonna stick out and break immersion!), but you change modern model claire's 1998 model to wearing a black vest? Capcom you trolls!

I am prepared:

My body is ready.:pie_raybans:

Can one of you dudes explain the whole A/B thing to me? I want to make the most out of the experience. Somehow I missed out on RE2 growing up despite being a PS1 owner and re4 being in my top 5 of all time.

Excited to jump into this new vision for what has always seemed like truly the most popular entry

""The zapping system contained an additional layer of depth: the presence of both “A” and “B” scenarios. In the A scenario, Claire is chosen, while Leon is chosen for the B scenario. The inverse, Leon for A and Claire for B, is also possible. The stories and gameplay elements, such as enemies and items encountered, would change depending on which scenario combination was selected. In total, there were now two combinations across four different scenarios. The B scenarios feature an exclusive stalker enemy, the trenchcoat-donning T-102 Tyrant, commonly referred to by Western fans as “Mr. X,” who would go on to become one of the more iconic monsters in the series. While the zapping system has come to define the identity of Resident Evil 2, neatly setting it apart from other entries, it was actually implemented late in development. Kamiya decided to incorporate the concept of two overlapping story arcs, an idea he actually came up with during the end of the first game’s development, when it was too late to implement into that game. Kamiya admits that there are repetitive elements shared across all scenarios, such as both characters having to open the same doors with the same key, but he also notes that obsessing over making the game too realistic would have made it less entertaining. ""

Another element carried over from “Resident Evil 1.5” was the use of two protagonists. However, rather than have their stories occur in complete isolation like in the original, Kamiya and Sugimura worked together to come up with a new mechanic called the “zapping system.” Leon and Claire explore the same locations and solve many of the same or similar puzzles, but because their stories occur simultaneously, players must finish both scenarios to witness the entire story and earn the true ending. Leon and Claire cross paths from time to time, so there are instances when the actions in one scenario directly affect what happens in the other. The most notable would be deciding whether it should be Leon or Claire who acquires a specific weapon; players must weigh the pros and cons of the decision, as it could make things easier in the first scenario but more difficult in the second, and vice versa.

Thank you for your hard work OP. I'm still undecided on buying REmake 2 because man, I don't like horror games at all. But the three PSOne originals are among the best stuff I've played in all my life. Decisions, decisions ...

Guys it's less than an hour left for the reviews embargo to lift.

What do you guys reckon?

i love that its "harder" to use the ink ribbons and yet thats a key element to the survival and item management of the games.

i think i may have to crank this games difficulty up to 10 on the playthrough

A/B was only in the original. You could pick Claire first (Claire A) then start Leon with your save file which gives you Leon B. Or you could pick Leon first (Leon A) then start Claire with your save file which gives you Claire B.

The way it works now is a little different. After your first playthrough, you'll be met with the option to continue on your 2nd playthrough which changes things throughout the game. So you don't have to worry about any save data stuff because the game itself will ask you upon completion.

I asked in the preview thread the other day but I don't think anyone had the game to be able to answer.

Does turning off the floating hints disable the aiming reticle? - It did in the demo which was obviously rather stupid as you had to leave that crap on so you could aim.
