I used to like the bullseye in R1... here it's useless.
Carbine is my weapon of choice too because of its effectiveness. The Marksman is good as well. Fareye is still good. I'll need to improve with the Splicer, but it looks like it could be a good weapon in the future.
Still haven't played with an auger.

The bullseye remains my favorite FPS weapon of all time. Loved it in 1. Works similarly great in 2.

The damage you do depends on range and weapon damage settings. With normal damage it takes 10 body hits from the carbine at point blank to kill a fully healthy human, 16 at the edge of the range while shooting from the hip (red reticule) and 24 or 25 at the edge of the iron sight range. And that's all hits, not shots, and it's without factoring in health regeneration (I turned that off for testing).
High damage cuts it down to 8/10/16 respectively. The damage increase is most pronounced at higher ranges.
Connecting headshots give a constant 20% bump in damage, regardless of distance or damage mode.
You can basically track damage with the XP display. A human opponent with no health regen drops after yielding 90~95 XP (not sure on the exact number).
It follows that if you can drop more than two people within a single carbine clip in a game with normal weapon damage and health regen, they have already been damaged by someone else. It has nothing to do with your profoundly amazing skills. Sorry.

Anyway, we weren't competitive. Tjhat is, we liked playing, and we liked to win (since we were pretty good), but that wasn't the end all and be all. We were asked to GB so many times, it turned into a running joke (which was funny as hell, btw).

Only two weapon tweaks truly necessary IMO, Fareye reload slower and Rossman should take 3 shots max for a kill.

That's a good point. I wasn't even aware of there being beta forums. I should have read through the game menus a bit more carefully. Is it even in the game menus? It meaning a link to the beta forums, or info on that?

After about two weeks my isp finally cut the traffic shaping crap and I managed to play (very badly in ranked, better in unranked, oh well). I have no idea what some people are bitchin' about, the beta looks good and plays better.
(I won't comment about the hardcore R1 players' opinion, that's a different matter... I'll bet in a few months they'll be hardcore R2 players though. :lol)
