Looking forward to tonight's meet up, though my games been off for the last few days. Not that I was awesome to begin with, but I can play better.
BTW: the team stats was misleading. I thought it was going to show clan rankings. That would be awesome. I really, really want to see how the clan's match up, and how each player in each clan compares to their own clan members. Hopefully those type of stats are coming too.

I personally enjoy the experience. Playing with friends (well, I suppose that's what everyone here is) is damn fun - especially when everyone is laid back.
I also enjoy the random nut jobs yelling into their mics (not you guys). They're always entertaining.

The upside to playing unranked games is that people can more easily join him at any time, unlike the situation with the clan meetups where you guys form a party and go straight into ranked games. If you're not on time, it isn't very easy to join in on the fun.lunlunqq said:

Yeah, what the hell was that? Man, that was driving me nuts. One of the GAFers kept giggling while that whole conversation was going on and I was complaining. That guy jinxed our game - I had to quit too, damn it!
As bad as that was, I'd have to say the wailing kid was the worst. Wow. I know PS3 is DOOMED, but man, that guy was taking it hard.

The funniest one was when that spanish-speaking guy's bird kept chirping.
I would appreciate if someone could link me to an explination of XP and leveling up. I'm not looking for shortcuts but rather an explanation of how XP is gained and if Unranked games are factored in or if it's just gained through ranked games. Comparing my stats and ranks to others has me all sorts of confused.

Suggestions suggest(!) that creating parties and going into ranked games together would be the preferred thing to do for the meet ups. So no longer do the first one to get online create a room but instead invite everyone to a party. This however makes it very important that you're all a part of the NeoGAF clan (pm kaching with details, make sure you've logged on to Resistance online at least once before) or simply have all folks listed above on your friend list. Again, the first one to get online should start a party and invite the others as they come online.
Also, it has come to my attention that over 20 people have started to show up for these meetups and that means one party is not enough. If that is the case then one of you simply need to create a second party. If you're the party leader (of either) then posting your details in this thread would be helpful.

Actually, Click said the other night that he did earn XP from playing unranked games. I have not confirmed this myself (but Click is a supreme commander, so he has a lot of XP). My bad. :/ I'll go change this in my earlier post. I geuss this could be checked by playing an unranked game and checking your stats before and after to see if your 'XP to level' stat has changed any. I had gotten the earlier information from the MP help guide, which suggests only ranked games gives XP.

If you play with us, your rank is going to shoot through the roof. A few GAFers are quite awesome, so when they're on a roll, everyone benefits.
Having said that, the entire clan contributes to the XP earned. Also, everyone seems to have their on/off nights. I'm hoping tonight will be an on night for me.

Unranked games do give you XP but Ranked games are worth much much more.
Possibly adding to this confusion is the fact that we found a server-side score processing bug where if you are in an unranked game for less than 30 minutes, you don't get any XP (or something like that). We've got a fix in testing.

He's pretty good. We were playing in a 5 on 10 team deathmatch last night and he was able to keep a 2-1 (or close to that) kills to death ratio. Then again it was sad that both rounds almost timed out. Those guys had numbers but they certainly weren't that skilled.Big-E said:
