Taking the Jeff Grubb review into consideration, it's surprising Metacritic and Opencritic don't have some type of system in place to disqualify or significantly reduce the weight of outlier scores. I'm all for someone like Jeff having his opinion (presuming it's an honest one), but the idea that that one opinion will significantly drag down the entire metacritic score is non-sense.

The potential for someone like Jeff, who appears to have some biases, to bomb a meta score, or the potential for biased or bought out reviewers in general, is a real problem when so much is at stake for the developers.

Metacritic and Open Critic, and reviews in general, have so much influence these days. We literally just heard during the Jaff Days Gone Interviews how much value Sony places on them, and we know they can be tied to dev bonuses, potential sales, etc. Honest or not, scores like Jeff's are not reflective of the experience of most reviewers and should therefore be weighted less imo.

And yes I think this should go both ways. For example a solitary 10 when everyone else is scoring a game in the 6-7's should also be given less weight too.

I do use opencritic more but thats because every reviewer is weighed the same where as metacritic weighs in favour of the bigger sites having a bigger impact on score compared to others. However sadly if you try to penalize someone for being a twat to get clicks then people shout "BuT Mai CenS0RshIP"

I saw fz.se gave it 3/5, but i choose to not trust them at this particular instance since the control scheme he described didn’t match with the rest of all reviews

Yep, 849 is the new standard PS Store price for a full size PS5 game. It's disgusting.

Physical games also got more expensive, but you can still find them at more decent prices if you just look around for 5 minutes. With a digital console you're stuck with what Sony thinks you should pay.

Well this sucks, what are they thinking? Seeing the local price really highlight down the pricing problem, didn’t realize it was this bad. Has all games been that expensive? AC Valhalla? Destruction Allstars? Dirt 5?

Those are a bit cheaper (like 739), because they're cross-gen I guess. Or maybe because they're not 1st party. But all proper Sony PS5 games will be 849, for example R&C.

Yeah I trust Gamereactor more these days, if they go for a likely controversial opinion they usually have a second opinion too, like if Petter start ranting about some car physics thing nobody else would ever notice or understand.
