I love, love the opening scene and cut to the CREED title card. Coolger has you right then and there.

The moment the movie started that way I knew it was gonna be something special.

No Creed 2?

“I really have mixed feelings about this, seriously,” he said. “I feel like Rocky, at the end of this movie on the steps, with the help of a young man, and he looks out and says, ‘From here, you can see your whole life’ — it sort of summarizes the whole thing. I don’t know how much further you can push Rocky.”

Just watched this tonight after waiting for several months for it to finally get to Sweden. I love the Rocky movies and it was awesome to see a sequel in the theaters.

This was so great, I was worried that it would focus too much on Rocky at first, but they balanced it really well. Adonis is such a great and interesting new character and I loved his development.

The training montages were so amazing, so cheesy yet so pumping at the same time!

The part at the end where
Adonis told Rocky he wanted to prove he is not a mistake was where I lost it.

Really loved the fanservice moments as well, such as:
Rocky telling Adonis that Apollo won the match that we never got to see at the end of Rocky 3, or the moment when Adonis got Apollo Creed style shorts.

The only complaint I have is that the relationship between
Adonis and Bianca progressed far too quickly. I would have preferred to have seen more interaction between them before they got together. It started off with a few funny and cute scenes, but these weren't really long enough to get me convinced they started a romantic thing. I loved the awkward flirting between Rocky and Adrian in the first Rocky movie.

All in all, this was one of the best movie experiences I've had in a while and I really hope they continue Adonis' story in a sequel.

Just saw this. Been holding out for a while. It was fantastic.

Sylvester Stallone is legendary as Balboa. His mannerism and his clearly brutish genetics yet warm persona just takes over every scene. And I get goosebumps whenever he's roaring during any of the fights.

Michael B.Jordan also did a really Great job and stood his ground which is not easy when paired up with an all-timer.

And this is director Ryan Coogler's second film?
Fights were very tense, very long shots in some cases. The film is full of humor and emotion. Two thumbs up.

This bump showed me my last post, now I remembered FUCK Robert, Marie, Steps.

Fuck em.

Punchy might be in the clear...

The radio silence regarding the sequel seems weird. I can't imagine it's not happening. Maybe they've had to postpone it for some reason?

I would imagine that Black Panther threw a wrench in things. Coogler will need to find time for both, but they really should have started on the sequel sooner to avoid that situation.

I still think Creed is overrated.
It's alright, but if you've seen the original Rocky then you know how much this was a copy. Watching this resulted in predicting everything that was going to happen. Still worth watching, but Creed is terribly overrated.

To be honest? I don't need to see more of Donnie. I could see a film with him, another Balboa narrative, or nothing. They have the franchise in a pretty good spot.

Balboa dies in the next film with the greatest on-screen funeral/memorial for a movie character in cinema history. Thunderlips, Clubber Lang, Ivan Drago, Mason Dixon, Creed and Balboa's son as pall bearers.

That is the secondary narrative. In between scenes, Rocky fights Satan and wakes up in the casket just before they start lowering him.

After the funeral, Creed pays homage in the main event fight of the film by wearing the Italian Stallion yellow/black trunks but instead creates a new nickname for himself and becomes Adonis "The Black Stallion" Creed with Balboa's son in his training corner.
