The polls can say whatever they want, Ford is gone next year and that's all that matters. His supporters are about to get a dose of reality crashing down hard on them and it will be delicious.

No laws on the books to do anything about it.

He could actually murder someone in cold blood, on live television, and still be mayor. From jail.

The only method for dismissal is council meeting absences. He would have to be in jail, but he could be removed that way. But only if council was in session over that period...

I wonder why we can't recall people like in the States.

If Leslie Knope can be recalled, surely we can fire Ford into the sun

I think he'd have to miss 60 meetings or something.

Basically, like 8 months worth of meetings.

The reason Americans are allowed to get rid of mayors is because mayors actually have power there. In Ontario the mayor is essentially just another councilor, except he represents the whole city instead of just his ward.

Which is how it should be.

The mayor is supposed to be a leader, and his only real power should be guiding the agenda.

We still should be able to get them out of office when shit like this happens. It's essentially holding the city hostage when he's clearly unfit to lead.

Go read the Sun's story on the St Patrick's day revelations.........Ford is going to crack fast if the Sun is going to go all out against him now

I would bang a hot farmer!

I agree there should be a way to impeach or at least suspend someone in office but that law would have to be brought forth by the Province because they hold power over all Municipalities.

Well, if the guy doesn't step down or get arrested, at least TO can be comfy in the fact that a huge fat guy with an eating, drinking, and drug problem will probably sort itself out in short order anyway.

I don't know who these people are. I talked to my 67-year-old mother on the phone last night about it and she has less sympathy for the guy than I do.

I'd vote for him. I want subways.
Thankfully, the options aren't limited to "Rob Ford" or "No Subways".

Toronto has a chronic infrastructure issue that affects nearly every aspect of the city. It's not going to be addressed by a single subway line that may or may not ever materialize.

Now Ford is pulling shit with his own supporters:

After huddling with family at his mother's home, he visited a bakery, a TCHC building and his family's business, Deco Labels.

He then drove to Mississauga and walked into a police station to complain he was being followed by a stranger.

The stranger was Toronto Sun photographer Craig Robertson
, who was among media Ford tussled with Thursday morning in front of his home. Robertson was at each stop Ford made Friday taking his photo as an identified member of the media.

Media — including the news helicopter at one point — tried to give Ford the opportunity to shed light on recent allegations as he made his way around Etobicoke on Friday.

Robertson and Sun crime reporter Chris Doucette were in full view taking Ford’s photo as he interacted with residents throughout the day.

While stopped on Derry Rd. E. near Hwy. 427, Ford momentarily jumped out and jotted down Robertson’s licence plate number.

Robertson continued to follow, obeying the rules of the road, and saw Ford pull into a police station on Goreway Dr.

Moments later, to Robertson's surprise, Ford exited with an officer who asked the experienced Sun photographer for his licence. He was then asked to go inside and give a statement — as Ford drove off.

Another officer said Ford called police from his SUV, claiming someone was following him and he "didn’t know who it was.”

Ford was told to head to the nearby station. Police said he gave a speedy statement accusing Robertson of driving erratically, cutting him off and driving through pylons.

“That’s a bold-face lie,” a stunned Robertson told the cop.

He won't have a friend in the world (besides his idiot brother) after this is done.

You know as much as I dislike Ford, it is pretty unethical for the press to ambush him at his home or his parent's home or stalk him while he's driving. If you want to talk to an elected official you should do it while he's on the job or at legislature, not corner them in their house.

They would have if he had actually gone to work.

The photographers don't want to talk to him. They want to photograph him. And photographing him in the wild while he's making drug deals may possibly be a little more interesting than him eating triple cheeseburgers at city hall.
