Nobody watches the vocalist when they play an instrument.

Not even when they're playing Baba O'Riley?

Or if they're drumming Behind Blue Eyes?

That's why I said playing an instrument. The voice isn't plastic enough to count!

Fair enough, I was gonna say the mic is the instrument but no, you're correct it's the voice.

Maybe there's a certification process to go through again if they fix it, holding it up.

Yea, that's why I'd believe it. Certification can move a 20-minute bug fix to a two-week delay.

I was kind of hoping that they'd post the beginning of Peace Sells. The first solo in that song comes about 7 seconds into it and it's quite a doozy. I wonder if Harmonix put in some extra Overdrive to help people from not failing out within the first 15 seconds of starting, or they're hoping people have gotten that good by that point to flail on it and hope for the best.

Sp3eD: I'm sure if that if it was that simple, they'd use the original in the first place. I'd imagine that they didn't have a master that could be worked with for the game, so they just re-recorded. Makes me wonder who else re-recorded for the game besides Testament and Motorhead...

:crosses fingers that AC/DC didn't:

Indeed. "Let There Be Rock" is a Bon Scott song. You can't re-record it. At least, not properly.

Wow, everyone really was right about how much easier Rock Band is. I mean, I was prepared for a bit less, but I was able to play through Hard mode on guitar with 5 stars on everything on my first sightread. I mean, there was just no challenge whatsoever. Even when I thought I was doing a poor job and messing up a bunch I still managed to five stars. I mean, true, I was just doing Hard to get a feel for things before tackling Expert completely blind. I mean, OK I do normally play on Expert and have 5 stars through tier 7 in Expert on GHIII, but still I would have expected some resistance. I had to put in some serious time to get the same ratings in all the previous games.

It looks like they're giving us some harder stuff in RB2 (likely because they also assume that with the new franchise started they can move up to harder fare for the newbies who just got into it), but still. Is it really that hard to make the easy modes easy and the hard modes hard?

was just going to post this.

god damn it.. not only am I only interested in a single one of those albums (Megadeth), but now this fucking guarantees another 6 pages today to the most overrated and average rock band in the world, Foo Fighters. God damn it. I don't know why you guys have such a hard on for Foo, but I am remaining scarce in this likely wankfest today. :\

edit - no doubt could be good if they a) stay with tragic kingdom and before, b) don't include Don't Speak, c) give us in-game Gwen.

edit 2 - I DO recognize that Stevie Ray Vaughn is a blues god, and apologize for him dying while leaving the concert here in Alpine Valley. Unfortunately as hard as I've tried over the past 20 years, I can never get into or fully appreciate blues... I might give a couple of his songs a try though.. just because, well... he is a fucking amazing guitar player.

I would have preferred There Is Nothing Left To Lose as I think it's the better album, however The Colour and the Shape has My Hero which will be awesome on drums.

None exactly scream "YEAH!" to me, but I'll probably get them all to be honest. They should be good fits.

Should have been Pinkerton over Foo's, we decided on this yesterday.

I'll be happy to get some No Doubt, as well as grabbing Under the Bridge...but I think I'd have prepared newer Chili Peppers.

What Ive got youve got to get it put it in you

This is why my experience with Rock Band was basically "It's no Guitar Hero III" until I was able to get it on 360 and obtain downloadable content and drums. Rock Band 1 is a terrible guitar game. It's simply awful if you have played GH:2 and beaten it on expert, let alone GH:3. And unless you're willing to pay for downloadable songs, it stays that way. Rock Band 2 looks to be awesome, just as many songs in it seem to be challenging as what we've got from GH:WT.

With 4 of the 6 albums having a song in RB2 does that mean we'll have the song twice (paying for it again), will it be left out of the album download (seems unlikely), or will they price it at a discount when you buy the full album like they're going to with the Rush?

Yeah, that's all a bit odd. For Rock Band 1 owners do they sell the song from the RB2 disc in the pack, and RB2 owners get it cheaper?

Different packs for RB1 and RB2 would be my guess, and the respective stores will know which one to offer.

Yes RB2 owners will get the albums for cheaper, but they whill also have bought a $60 game within the past few weeks to do so.

just a guess.

Sounds like win-win. I guess they'll be updating Doolittle for the RB2 store as well to include Wave of Mutilation.

I guess they're releasing "The Colour and the Shape" without Everlong, then. Or maybe they'll release it after RB 2 and make sure that Everlong is a cover on disc. Lawl.

Ugh, I'm trying to get Texas Flood off Zune and they've done that shitty thing of making one song only available if you buy the album; artists who do this make me want to kill somebody.

*Edit* Oh, Blood Sugar Sex Magik is buy only. Fuck you, bands!

too bad you aren't in the US. You could go to any used CD shop and buy BSSM forlike $3.99. There are HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of used copies of that album floating all over the country.

I want to listen to them in work, just to get familiar with the songs I don't know.

I can't even remember the last time I went in a music store, borghe. I haven't bought a CD for about 4 years, short of the odd one with nice packaging.

Oh my god. First stuff in RB that I'm REALLY excited about. Texas Flood, Nothing's Shocking, and the No Doubt compilation (hopefully Tragic Kingdom loaded).

My thoughts:

- Jane's Addiction has a few minimal songs, either there'll be a lot of song merging (ala Foreplay/Long Time) or everyone's gonna have their Silver when that's released.
- Fuck yea blues.
- Glad the pop album is No Doubt, compared to everyone pushing for Avril or Paramore.
- Wonder how Rage's Testify and Vaughan's Testify will co-exist.
- This covers about 70 of the 134 songs left (depending on mergings and album versions). That means about 64 songs over 11 weeks- so expect non-album weeks to stay around 5-7 for the rest of the year.

Here is a list I made so people can see what is coming a bit easier. Time to make setlists on my Ipod :rock
