so any chance if i plugged my USB preamp into the xbox, i'd be able to use a better microphone?

cause i've got a few mic's laying around from recording (granted all condenser mics), and i was thinking that maybe someone has tried this before.

Whoa. I used to live right across the street from Skycraft on Fairbanks.

Was just over the other day looking for 'normally-closed' magnetic alarm sensors to make my own bass pedal. They didn't have any though, so had to order some.

It's a cool cool shop. My old apartment was on the top floor of that Coldwell Banker building (if it's still there). It's been ten years since I left Orlando.

Did you spend a lot? Another way to do it is to have the beater from an unaltered pedal strike a DIY mesh head drum.

Still waiting to get the PS3 version

We're having a RB2 party at my work starting at 12:30am on the 14th (gives us enough time to go pick up the game and get back).

If any Orlando / Central Florida area GAFfers want to come hang out, PM me for directions.

I'm in Ocoee, where is your work at ?

This thread has officially stopped making sense.

And not even per Talking Heads orders.

For shame.

Anybody (Pretty much journalists) with access to the new guitar, did they fix the whammy bar glitch on the RB1 360 wireless strat where if you held the whammy bar slightly down before a sustained note it wouldn't do any whammying until you let up all the way on it first? I hold the whammy under my strumming hand all the time thus I always seem to slightly push down making that very annoying when needing max star power.

That doesn't happen on my wired strat.

omg rite

When did this happen? :lol

edit: speaking of les pauls, I'm actually looking forward to gh:wt's release because retailers are damn near going to pay people to take them away to make room for the new guitar. then I can retire my shitty xplorer once and for all. :cheer

Nice, I can finally use my GH3 controller. It still misses a yellow or blue note now and then (though it's much better now that I did the usual fix on it), but at least I can have 3 player Rock Band instead of 2 now (still need some drums).

Finally got to play the PAX pack today since it's fixed now. All three songs are pretty enjoyable. I particularly liked the guitar on Dude and Catastrophe, and both Skullcrusher and D&C have great vocals. Pretty nice for 3 bucks (minus the two day wait to actually play the thing).

Question...I would like to play in a band but Solo, as in play through the online weekly challenges without another person having to play with me. Is this possible, or is that closed to me?

The ad, it wouldn't leave me alone tonight. I saw it at least 5 times in the span of 2 hours. The TV knows I don't have the 360 version. Asshole.

I wonder, do you think they'll release more than the usual amount of songs the week the game comes out like they did with the original?

One would imagine, and pray for.

You're one of the saddest songs ever.

With the last couple weeks being pretty light on songs they have to throw quite a few out in the next couple weeks to get to 500.

I would expect a great week when Moving Pictures finally comes out being that they have the entire album done already.

Ehh, that was in my college days. I gave away most of the bigger obnoxious Nintendo shit now, like the giant Donkey Konga 2 box and most of the posters. The new apartment, while still full of DVDs and such, has less posters plastering the wall. (I will always keep the Fist of Adonis... always) I already posted pictures of the new place, remember? With all the guitars? Go back a few pages or look in my photobucket if you care.

And I've always been in steady relationships. But my work cubicle is full of toys and posters and shit. :lol I'll never change completely, though.

I'm still bitter about the game getting out early, of course. How do you think I should feel? :lol

Investing hundreds of dollars into a game, only to have to wait an extra month while you guys go nuts? It's a bit late and not that much of a deal to change platforms now. It just 30 days of... "oh look, I can't play any Modest Mouse or AC/DC."

Although the patch coming up makes me happy. Very happy. I just wish GH3 had the co-op quickplay patch that never materialized.

And FYI, the thread was named after me last time because of this same topic, of 360-favoring. The early launch was one of the sticking points.
Stage kit, better online, better DLC management, early DLC (Hardly a big deal), compatible guitars (Though not their fault), Best Buy songs with album purchase, etc... those were the other gripes. Also not including a USB hub in the box. I wonder if the new box will. I'll find out.

And yes, I do understand the plus side. Relaxed DLC rules, wireless guitar, more peripherals, free online.

But I will re-iterate my one fear. Of having to manually re-install 55 songs, one by one.

Watching that was actually pretty cool. I had never thought about doing stuff like that on youtube, but fuond myself spending the next half hour watching tours of other peoples apartments (after yours).

That could be my new "when I am bored" hobby :lol

I also should say this 'lull' is allowing me to play other older crap, like Assassin's Creed. Pretty cool so far.

I can't believe you think the Stage Kit is a sticking point for the 360 version M3w.
We'll see. If the lasers and fog are synced up, like they said, it could be awesome. It sounded like all the songs, ALL THE SONGS, have specific performances already coded.

You make it sound like ancient history, but it was posted two years ago, lol. Two years is nothing.

Every year in college I lived in a different apartment. That was #4 of 5 total. Each one I redecorated completely differently.

All you Expert-level singers (which may just be Shag, but whatever), much respect. I've been trying to get the Expert achievements on all instruments before RB2 comes out, which means powering through Vocals. No idea how, but I've so far 3-starred my way to tier 7, stuck at Are You Gonna Be My Girl and Next To You. Got a week to clear out the last 12 songs. Not too worried, I do better on later vocal tiers than early ones. :lol

I don't see how Next To You is hard. I could mumble through that with four stars.

He's literally Steve Carrel in the 40-Year Old Virgin. :[

I fail to see how he can literally be so. Yet another sad case of people saying "literally" when they actually mean "figuratively".
Yes, I realize that this is incredibly common usage that's even managed to make it into various dictionaries (at least, online from what I can see), but it's time to take a stand against using a word to mean the exact opposite of what it actually means.

Back to the ad, but doesn't it seem like a bad idea to mention how the entire console is now the same price as the game? In an ad for said game?

I'm also surprised by how many people in this thread apparently live in the Orlando area. I'd expect more people from my neck of the woods, but I guess not.

Sorry for asking this, I bet it has been asked before but I couldn't Google it.

Is it possible to buy an extra microphone and play duel offline, á la Sing Star? In Rock Band 1 or 2?

Like this, but I thought maybe they are playing online:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5xdQbQ-99M

Is it also possible to play two mics and one guitar/drums, or is it limited to only mics?

edit
Or I just found this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S82BS599YJw&NR=1

So I guess it works? Just buy an extra mic? (at least for dual, don't know about guitar/drums)

Hello!

I am back on in the lead of the Fortunate Son arms race. Also, nobody is even close on my My Iron Lung score, c'mon guys >:(

(except OneMic who has a real excuse.)

Well, I'm kinda screwy with vocal difficulty- there are tier 8/9 songs I breeze through yet I stumble through tier 3 songs. Next To You, I just can't recover after that incredibly difficult "ow" talkie.

Forgive me if you're a PSN player and I forgot, but I added your 360 tag to my list. If you're on that you should have new scores to go after now. :P
