Finally unlocked Shackler's Revenge. That song isn't nearly as bad as people have been making it out to be. It's certainly not as good as a lot of earlier GnR stuff, but it's not awful.

Visions, on the other hand, can go die in a corner, because it is the worst song that has ever appeared in a GH or RB game ever and quite possibly one of the worst I've ever heard.

Chop Suey looks horrible to play on guitar. I know I'll never gold star it, so I'll probably play it as few times as possible.
It is horrible. I failed it twice last night. I'm not looking forward to playing it again tonight.

Just got this:
Hey folks! Sean coming in with an update! There'll be a patch coming out for Rock Band 2 by the end of this month. It's meant to address a couple issues with game, namely removing Visions. That's pretty much it! Thanks!

I'm enjoying the game, though I do miss just being able to unlock everything in order instead of trying to find the right combination of challenges to find each song. I haven't failed a song yet, but I have yet to try the Steely Dan one. Master Exploder kicks ass.

it's amazing how much hate visions is getting. as expected, though.

they better not fucking get rid of it.

maybe an option to remuve it, I GUESS, to shut some of you whiny bitches up. suck it up and get used to it, it's an acquired taste but it's ever so delicious. not to say it's the best in the genre or anything, but the genre itself is great.

An update

One more update guys! A little clarification on the upcoming patch. Seems people are wondering about why we're taking out Visions. Frankly, it's because it sucks ass.

It sounds a lot better than it did online. Take out the bass track and it sounds even better.

I'm now noticing that the strum bar on my RB2 Strat requires a fair amount of pressure in order to register.

Nothing is more maddening than seeing your yellow-note streak on Eye of the Tiger constantly being broken because you're alt-strumming too lightly. :(

I was having problems with that using both of my Les Pauls and even my Xplorer. I just put it down to bad calibration because its something I know I should be able to hit consistently.

I do wish solo career was still in. Its a much more logical way to play for me.
I wouldn't miss it if they fixed two things.
1. Give me my fucking star ratings in Solo Quickplay, idiots.
2. Unlocking songs in Tour should unlock them in Quickplay. It's ridiculous that you have to beat them first.

Man, the drum trainer is awesome, I could just be in there for hours messing around.
Yeah, definitely. Some of the beats are really challenging on the higher BPM settings, which makes it ever so satisfying when you clear them.

Speaking of patches: if there's a real one any time soon, I really hope they fix the volume on the drum fills. You can barely hear them!

Maybe my original RB guitar's strum bar was shot to hell, but I'm finding the RB2 guitar's strum bar to be much faster and less tiring. I love it. Whether it's the new strum bar or the auto-calibration or both, this is the first time Rock Band has "felt" as good as the first two Guitar Hero games for me. Fast downstrums are so much easier and I'm not having trouble keeping time any more.

At least with the Tour Challenges you don't have to play them first. There's a number of songs I haven't played in the Tour yet, but I have unlocked.

It's death/grind so you know all the hate for metal you have? This song would make you want to kill someone.

I like it but I do regularly listen to that kind of stuff so there's that.

You guys actually believe M3wThr33 is being serious ? lol
Seriously. There's no way they'd say that about a fellow employee's band, even if it's true.

You can't insult this game because God will get super pissed at you, the PERFECT cure for snobby internet critics!

I'd say it looks about on par with Rock Revolution though.

Rock Revolution has Rush. It also has a release date! A couple of weeks in to October for the stand alone. If only it was likely to be region free...

I really don't get why you want that so much, Dave.

It has quite a few songs on it I think will be fun. I ain't no hater, I'll give the game the benefit of the doubt. I still don't see how it can be so radically un-fun when it's nearly the exact same gameplay.

Tour Challenge Marathon sessions mimmic the Solo tour. The only reason you would need the old system is if you wanted to play the tiers songs in a different order.

All these modes complicate my poor brain. It would be a lot easier if I could play the damn game >:(

Konami will fuck it up somehow. All the music games they've released this gen have been pretty awful on a technical level.

I dont know what you guys are talking about with regards to Chop Suey, it's awesome!

Edit: I also wanted to chime in and say how annoying I find the streak battles. You need to finish the battle for your streak to update, but I screwed up at a point where I knew even if I played perfectly for the rest it wouldn't beat my streak. It kinda sucked :/
