Seriously, anyone able to come to a consensus on a good control scheme for wall aerial? I've done lb as air roll, people straight up tell me it's bad, then I switch to boost on rb like they say and put air roll on X, then they say it again the other way

I tried different things, but default is too ingrained.

Yeah but default is actually a ton harder for wall aerial compared to either of the choices :x

Wall stuff throws me off so much. flips and rolls are not how they are on the ground. so often I try to flip off a wall and I just flounder up there and the ball sails by.


I'm almost to Silver 3, so I'm fine waiting. I'm still undecided about striving for Gold lol

I can flip and roll, but the second I have to take off, I hit a mental lock and I'm like 'aaaa what do I do'

Who gives a shit that they're "splitting the base" by giving more arenas besides the standard old soccer field? I love RL, but I want more and different arena layouts to play around with and have fun as I'm a bit tired of the standard arena now.

Tbh I feel like saying season 2 is splitting the base is the same as asking the base game to die to your average gamer from lack of updates.
This isn't a map pack where you get kicked like an FPS game, we all have these maps. The only real change is you have to learn more stuff, which I guess some hate.

Go into training and try to learn there- that's what I did. Once I got basic movements and hits down, I did endless matches to refine it >_<

3 vs 3 Pro level bots (both teams) love to smack the ball into the walls (as they are designed to hit everything sideways) so going against them is great practice for wall hits if you want more of a game experience when practicing. Pretty much any time the ball is in the corner there is a pretty good chancee it will be cleared up along the sidewalls. All-Star bots on the other hand rarely do this as (almost) every touch is designed to be a shot on your net.

Playing hockey (anticipation / timing) and pro bot games (having to hit the ball instead of the sticky puck) improved my wall game a ton. Also try adding slo-mo in practice or vs the pro bots to make sure you have the mechanics of wall hits down.

The first preview in the history of games journalism that is not just a big ad for the game/content is a GOOD thing. It's valid opinions from people who otherwise adore Rocket League.

That's definitely not a bad thing that per say, but I just think her reasoning (or her lack of reasoning) makes her opinions stick out like a sore thumb in the video. Splitting the playerbase seems like a very weak argument when the maps are free and when the true playlist split is ranked and unranked. Adding some new maps is great for longevity and getting more people back playing the game and they can keep the new maps on unranked which won't affect the people that are competitive and only play ranked anyway.

"Ranked" Playlist has been renamed "Competitive" Playlist
Season 1 has ended! Limited Edition Crowns have been distributed to all participants in Season 1 Ranked Play based on your highest division across all Ranked playlist when Season 1 ends.
Competitive Skill Divisions have replaced Rank Points and the Season 1 Ranking System. There are twelve skill divisions. Over time you can be promoted or demoted between divisions based on your performance.
Top 100 Leaderboards are now based on your skill rating, similar to the Preseason.
Placement matches have been implemented. For each ranked queue, you play ten placement games and are then sorted into a skill division based on your performance.
Ranked Reconnect has been added to the game. Players who lose connection during a competitive rocket league match will now be given the option to reconnect to their previous game.

"Rocket Labs" experimental playlist is now available for casual Online play
A new rotating casual playlist called “Rocket Labs” is now available! Labs features prototype layouts that use temporary art assets. This allows us to release and gather feedback on new designs much more rapidly than we could otherwise.
Three Lab Maps are now available in the "Rocket Labs" playlist and Private Matches:

New "Uncommon" Item Drops will now be found uncommonly after online matches. This “Uncommon” item quality features all-new Hats and Antennas for you to discover and equip!
Unlike previous seasonal rare drops, these new items don’t have a fixed drop chance after each match. Your chances to find an item after a game will increase for every minute you play until you find something, and then your chance will reset.
Uncommon unlocks are only only awarded after a complete game in online playlists (They are not available for unlock offline modes or in Private matches)
Multiple copies of the same "Uncommon" item can be collected, illustrated with a count number in the Garage UI
There is a maximum of ten hours of playtime per week that can earn items, so don’t bother trying to idle your way to a full inventory!

How do I force the update ? I can't play ranked games and when I click on check update it says I have the latest version of the game :(

I'm on PS4 btw
