I accidentally went to season mode the other day and it reminded me of how cool those teams looked. I would love love love an online team/clan system. Implemented team leaderboards and stats. Team vs Team tournaments. Real ladder system. Obviously customizable color and logo options. There's so much they could do.

When I switched my hdd I lost so many GBs of clips but it was also kind of nice freeing myself from them. I really wish there was a way to delete clips from the share menu. Sometimes I view something and think it sucks but don't have an immediate way if ridding it then forget to ever do it. So it makes combing harder.

I was until I started going through it and realized that only the most recent 10% (if that) was even remotely usable/impressive. The old stuff that I saved is embarrassing haha

Switching to Ethernet has had a massive improvement for me regarding the weird lag/choppiness/stuttering despite low pings. It is so much smoother than it used to be.

Depends who the 10 wins were against. If they were against 10 teams the system thought you *should* beat (if you had a higher skill rating) your skill level with move up less than 10 wins against teams you shouldn't beat (opponent has higher skill rating).

The one good thing about getting craptastic teammates is there is a very good chance your skill level won't be impacted much by a loss as it's pretty likely the other team is rated higher.

Seriously though, Psyonix, tighten up matchmaking. Ranked seems as loose as unranked is. I'm an okay player (Rising Star) and I can't tell you how many matches I get paired with UNRANKED and/or prospects. This should not happen. What is the point of ranking up if you continue to be forced to play with lower to no skilled players? You shouldn't be paired with or face anyone more than say 3 divisions below or above you. I will gladly wait longer for matches. Please fix this.

prospects might happen because their mmr is high in other playlists. also unranked could have high or similar mmr from season 1.


edit: just got paired with a prospect elite, with nearly no ball control or aerial ability. eh, maybe im wrong lol

Unranked can easily be high skilled players. Just because they haven't played 10 games doesn't mean their MMR from Season 1 doesn't pair them against Star-tier for placement matches.

Are you sure you saw a Prospect player? In all my ranked games since we patched, I've never seen anyone more than a couple tiers away from me (Superstar).

Fuck just went up against Sithlorddrake pax champion and lost due to two own goals :( we were so much better than them.
A king of the hill mode where we battle for a tag or something would be cool.

Yea, I've beaten people who were ranked higher than me, from Ch3 to Rising Star (I've not faced anyone higher). But those people are usually paired with unranked/prospect elites. So in the end, it probably didn't mean much because overall the teams were probably equal.

Yup. Performance has been pretty stable on my Surface Pro 2. My windows 7 desktop has had so many problems though. Launching in a window that is only the minimize, window, or exit with no image and I have to force close, or it freezes between transitions to games and I have to force close. Or it just crashes. Weird.

Regarding unranked having high skilled players -- I get this -- but most of the unranked players I have been paired with are not highly skilled. But this is the same old problem with using a win/loss based system to access skills as someone can be carried to higher levels by higher skilled teammates (or held back by lower skilled ones).

I am basically okay with how everything works I just don't think players should be paired with or against players whose skill levels are way above or below your skill level. It may make matchmaking quicker but the quality of matches is much crappier and results in matches like so:

orange = 1200 + 400 + 200 (1800 total) vs
blue = 600 + 600 + 600 (1800)

where blue is going to beat orange 9 times out of 10 because 3 average players are going to play together much better than one great player and two crappy players.

I will say that when I get unranked / prospects on my team often the other team does as well - but not always. I have had games with me and two unranked vs 3 players ranked at or above me (Rising Star).

But even if it ends up being "equal" it hurts the playing experience on both sides as there is no synergy with players way below your skill level.

Here's what it looks like when I boot RL up most of the time on my desktop (Win7 64bit):

It's basically not responding and I have to quit out, but shit will freeze for a while, not even ctrl alt del works.

Other times it will lag to load textures on the main menu for my car (really low LOD for a minute or more) and sometimes transitioning to a match while in training crashes the game.

I'm really hoping this isn't a HDD error and a sign my HDD is about to die. Is this happening to anyone else?

I was just able to play a bit, but load times were janky. dropped frames in-game, i think due to load-in for textures or something. Game just froze after a couple games on the loading screen, so maybe the map wasn't loading. Not responding in task manager, so ended it. Got to play with a Developer Eric. Was that you ErichWK?

5/10 matches on xbox gave me prospect (2/12 or silver 2) now getting matched with super scrubby people. this fucking blows. hate their ranking system. Im better than that.

Backing up important work and documents to my external now. What is the best HDD now? May as well upgrade/replace since this drive is about 6 or 7 years old. I have never had a drive fail.

an SSD and a large HDD is the way to go

How much money do you have to burn? I'm loving my 500gb SSD. PC turns on fully in 7 seconds.

Picked up the ball in my half after a face off, had no boost. Went for a random dribble at walking pace to see how far I could get. Juked players hither and yon, made it juuuust shy of their goal then got the ball taken off me then looked down and saw that I had picked up 28 boost from the random welfare pads. D'oh!

I have also realised that getting good at clearing is by far the #1 greatest thing you can do to make games less annoying. Closely followed by not whiffing every other shot, but that takes a bit more time.

I have an SSD for boot up. This was my storage and steam drive.

Yeah, I'm really grateful, but I also noticed the signs lol.

This is the drive I'm looking at. Wanna keep it around $100 give or take:

It's a hybrid drive. Dunno how those fare, but seems well rated. I just want a reliable long lasting drive.

In an effort to get better I mapped air roll to left trigger. Took me this long to realize air inputs are separated from ground driving inputs.

I feel like I've leveled down. I also feel like my brain is not understanding RL again so maybe it's time to take a break. I've been playing, trying to grind the time to unlock the unicorn horn.

First game tonight, and started with an opponent saying GL and he was clearly a pro since he scored 3 aerial goals in the first minute. So much bad luck with XBOX. I regret the purchase. I should have just stuck with PS4.

I still kinda hate the DS3, but my hands are just too big for it. Hell, I liked the Duke XBox controller over the S.

Love the DS4 though, bar quality issues.

Finally dropped my first placement game last night after five wins in a row. Heart breaking too as we had it tied and I had some god tier saves, but they managed to get it in a mad scramble with 30 seconds left. Our last shot was screaming to the top of their net but the guy defending managed to just push it enough to fly over and then time ran out.
