I wonder how much this will affect Roger's concentration.

Also, I think it took rather long for security to grab that guy. If that guy had malevolent intentions it would have been too late.
 
That stuff can be unnerving. There are always crazies about... remember Monica Seles?

I was scared when that guy suddenly jumped onto the court... thank god it was someone without bad intentions.

Eh, Federer could take him. If the guy had a knife, I'd use my racket to knock it out of his hands. Racket = longer reach. If he had a gun though, he'd be fucked. But then again, you can fire a gun from the seats too.

Yep, I thought that after that incident getting to the field wouldn't be so easy (as it seemed to be); glad nothing happened; but it shouldn't have happened.

If he could see him coming, maybe; but there's always an element of surprise, a moment you need to take before it strikes you what is going on.
 
You have to wonder why he hasn't decided to practice this shot more, in earlier years, and just this year. It's been an amazing weapon for him these past two weeks.
 
yeah, it's like he's been setting up that drop shot for 7 years. all anyone thinks about when preparing for him is that forehand of his, and now he brings that drop shot to the table.

He did a dance in front of him with a flag. Whatever element of surprise there would be, had he decided to attack him, would be gone at that point.

The point was that it took the security so long to react. Had it been somebody who hid a knife and just stormed at federer, I'm not entirely sure it would had a (completely) happy ending.
 
Man, this is lame. At least when Tsonga demolished Nadal in the AO 2008 semi, he managed to take a set off of Djokovic. I finally get to see the man that beat Nadal live and he gets straight setted.

Federer obviously wants to win more, though. He's chasing down balls that he can't even get his racquet on. Soderling doesn't even attempt to get to them.
 
Soderling's playing better in the second set though. Also, he's not really the type of player to chase so many balls down. He just doesn't have Federer's footwork.
 
The way the game is going, the most Söderling can aspire to is keeping his serves, Federer has been untouchable in service games.
