So it's Saturday, it's not piss-pouring like it was last night, and it's a beautiful day.

I get up at 3:00pm in the afternoon, woken up by a phone call from the family in Israel, talk to them for an hour, eat a quick cereal breakfast, take a shower, and decide I want to go around Prospect Park a few times. So I do just that.

It's amazing. C'mon fellow Crooklynites, leave GAF for an hour or two and go lap the park a few times. It'll do you good, it's fun, and you'll still have plenty of sunlight for the next 2 hours or so.

*Running, jogging, walking, skateboarding, biking, scootering (is that a word), picnicing, reading on a towel, playing baseball, volleyball, or ultimate frisbee are ALL wonderful alternatives to rollerblading, of course.

Physical activity in general makes you feel so much better if you weren't doing much/any before. It's awesome!

Prospect Park is awesome in the spring/summer. Packed with females, too. I used to ride my bike from my house to the park (about 3 miles), do a few laps around the park, and head home. Beautiful place to bike/run/picnic.

You live around there, Mejilan?

Yep, lots of lovely ladies wearing tight training gear bouncing all over the place.

I live about 2 blocks away from Grand Army Plaza and the Brooklyn Public Library. In other words, about a 2 minute walk away from that end of the park. Been here for a year and a half and I absolutely love this place.

Hell it's even drop-dead gorgeous in the dead of winter the day after a blizzard, you know, when the sky is bright and the snowfall still pristine.

But lapping the park a few times on rollerblades, while grooving to my iPod... THAT'S hawt shit, mah friends...

NJ rocks and has plenty of green. Brooklyn, on the other hand, is park-starved, minus the area in the vicinity of awesome, awesome Prospect Park, of course.

Yeah, i moved back in my parents place for a little, while i transfer to a new college, and they live on the Jersey shore so its really nice here in the summer. Still, I miss the city.

heh, im always around the area on weekends. either park slope/court street for lunch, or at prospect park summer concerts. beautiful place, hot women...ahhh i love summer.

Between Sat and Sunday, I managed about 5 laps around the park. Not too shabby. Now I need to get into better shape!

No offense at all intended, but I didnt even know people still used rollerblades much. Seriously, havent seen them in use in years now not living in a town like NY or Chicago.

I've been in Michigan since Thursday, but I miss Prospect Park.

I'll probably wake up in the gazebo drunk at least twice this summer, and I'll definitely rock my bike there a few times too.

You kiddin'? Damn, there are almost as many rollerbladers as there are bikers around these parts. From what I can tell, anyway.

Nice? More than nice. It's downright beautiful! G-d, I wish more of the 5 Boroughs could look and smell like this area does...
