Like I said weeks ago when I predicted her anouncement. Same reasoning as Sheik. She is a huge fan favorite in a pivotal game in the series which was why she was chosen

Pretty much. I'm not gonna say X character deserves to be in more than Y character or Z character, but I think Rosie does deserve a spot; I'm so happy.

and if they can come up with a unique fighting style for a character, isn't that the most important? this grumbling about their failure to include characters who basically exist to take up space in sports games and Mario Kart is ridiculous, that shouldn't be how this works.
 
It's not even Rosalina what I'm most excited about, but that Sakurai managed to translate the (often overlooked, always fun) 2P mechanic from Galaxy 2 into her moveset. He's paying tribute to one of the best games ever in more than just visual design.

I don't get your point here, other than contradicting your last post.

In any case, Daisy would be a more interesting character for the game just because she's been in a wider variety of games which could lead to a better moveset and has actually been given a personality over the years.

Rosalina should be in because...?
 
I completely understand that Smash isn't JUST a marketing tool.
But the way I see the argument is basically this, Nintendo either:
a. Puts in a character featured in the last 3 mainline Mario games including a PLAYABLE role in a recent game in need of promoting.
b. Puts in a character featured in nothing but spin-offs.
 
I kinda saw this coming, and I don't even keep up with the SSB news.

Seeing her fight reminds me a lot about Carl Clover. So I'm guessing she'll play like him. That's pretty cool.

Seeing Donkey Kong poke Kirby was kinda adorable in that trailer.

I can understand people being upset that this isn't the representative for a new series, but I don't see how you can honestly be upset that this isn't another Mario character. Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Bowser were already the most interesting characters by far. The rest are fluff that don't really do anything, minor enemies, and one-off NPCs. As least Rosalina can have that Luma gimmick.

Little Mac undeniably deserves to be a playable character, and I can see why Ridley should be.

K. Rool, on the other hand, hasn't the been the main villain of any major DK release since Donkey Kong 64, hasn't been the villain of any DK release since Jungle Climber, and hasn't appeared at all since Mario Super Sluggers. He didn't make a cameo in DKC Returns, and it doesn't look like he'll appear in Tropical Freeze. Nintendo doesn't care about K. Rool that much, considering how he hasn't done much in years.

He should be in Smash, though.

Can't say I'm a Rosalina fanboy but boy does her gameplay look sweet in the video. WE GOT COMBOS. I'm hyped. We better still be getting Palutena though!
 
Some of yall have forgot what the hell smashbros is about., All this pick and show characters all quick. Do you guys even remember the last time a "A new challenger is approaching!!!" warning came up and you didnt know who the fuck it is?

The Internet makes concealing some things hard. If they release worldwide simultaneously, I'm sure we will be wowed by at least 1 or 2 surprises.

.....because they managed to come up with a very unique moveset for her that justifies her inclusion. if she was just a Peach clone you'd have a point, but you're reducing this to simply complaining about characters while disregarding all other factors. if we're talking about side characters in games, i fail to see how any one is more "deserving" than another; the play styles that can be given should take precedence, not "OH THIS ONE SHOULD BE IN IT MORE." this isn't going with Rosalina over Bowser or Peach or even Luigi. it's Daisy.

I hope the video was hinting at a Rainbow Road stage.

I'm loving all the salt from people who only care about "deserving" characters. Rosalina looks fun to play and that's all that should matter at the end of the day.

I play fighting games, and I just don't care. Slow reveals before I buy my product get me hype to buy it. I don't mind knowing before hand , hell i hope its like modern fighting game and the whole cast is just unlocked from the get go.
