It's a Wes Craven movie. Really, what'd you expect? The only scary movies he's made are the original Nightmare and The Serpent and the Rainbow.

Considering Wes Craven has voiced his displeasure with the film's production, and it was filmed twice, I don't think anyone was really looking forward to this. Really.
