According to known (?) DanielRPK Naughty Dog's second team is working on Uncharted 5 instead of a The Last of Us sequel. They've supposedly been working on this for three years already.

This tweet says the protagonists will be Nathan Drake's daughter and his brother.



Personally I find that hard to believe. Who the hell wants to play in a mainline Uncharted game as Cassie or Sam Drake? Sony wants to make better use of their PS IPs by turning them into movies and TV series. It's counterproductive to try make Uncharted's Nathan Drake an established movie brand and then go the other way in the actual games.

Cool if true. It's been long enough that I've started to miss Uncharted.

They need to ignore all the idiots crying about ludo narrative dissonance. Fill the game to the brim with action or figure out a way to make the platforming fun.

I can't wait to see Uncharted 5 but only if Sony brings back Nathan Drake and Sully as protagonists. Don't want Uncharted Ladies 2.

Stop cucking all the iconic Sony male protagonists and replacing them with bossy, ugly, androginous, non-heterosexual (and often non-white) females who never are wrong, never have flaws and are half the game lecturing (them or non-white people) white male cucks about how stronger, smarter, more capable, independent etc. they are and explaining how evil and abusive white heterosexual males are, particularly the ones who are fathers.

Keep the woke propaganda out of the Sony games. We had more than enough with games like Concord, Dragon Age Veilguard, Spider-Man 2, Uncharted Ladies, Destruction AllStars, TLOU2, AC Shadows, Dustborn, Suicide Squad, Avowed, Forspoken or soon Ghost of Yotei and a long etc.

Personally, I think the conversation will be on that more than ever. Indiana Jones showed everyone how it can be done. You can have a focus on puzzles, exploration, stealth, and comedic violence with found objects instead of just mass murdering waves of people. It even opens with him being a teacher at a college and showing the museum he curates, which helps with criticism about imperialism; not to mention it takes place during WW2 during the end of glamorizing orientalist exploration. Uncharted just has to figure out a better hook for the whole premise to take it to the next level. There's a reason Indiana Jones is a beloved character and Nathan Drake is not.

I suspect that if they really are moving towards Cassie Drake, these issues will be front and center in the game and will likely make it a better game. If she has a kill count that dwarfs Arnold in Commando, it'll look pretty ridiculous.

EDIT : playing as Nathan Drake's daughter? boring. Uncharted always had the appeal of a modern day Tomb Raider mixed with Indiana Jones, I'd love for them to keep that spirit.

If this is true...are Sony studios actively looking at the worst ideas possible for games? Legit not a single human being asked for Sam to be the main character of an Uncharted game. And Cassie? Naughty Dog released TLOU2 with Ellie...their next game is also a female main character...and now Cassie as well?

I've never been this unexcited for Sony 1st party games but this would be a new low lol.

Anyway...sounds fake af.

I agree with this. I am a huge fan of the Uncharted series, but I'm not sure that I would want something like this.

If Sony wants to produce a new Uncharted game, I'd prefer they create an entirely new lead character, and include some of the existing characters in supporting roles.
 
Nate's story is over. If anything now it should open to other characters.

If it's Cassie? She was around 8-9 years old at the end of UC4, so we'd be experiencing a considerable time jump to something like her being in the early mid 20s if it's her? 15 years or so I'd say to make it justifiable that she can run around killing/shooting people.

If it's not her, the other theory was a Sam and Sully adventure. And that could be something that I say would happen shortly after 4.

Otherwise, I wouldn't mind another adventure with Chloe Frazer.

Can be a whole new set of characters mixing older ones in, cameo or otherwise.

I think it would be a good idea if you start with her, she gets in trouble investigating something or dissapear (you play as her during maybe first 20-25% of the game) and then Nate, Sully and Elena go to help/save her (you play as Nate the rest of the game). The game could talk about how important family values and ties are (something wokism wants to destroy).

This would be great if done in a non-woke propaganda way, something that in recent years apparently is impossible if the game is made by a Californian studio of a company whose largest shareholder is Blackrock.
