Russia begins Invasion of Ukraine

The OKH / Wermacht was incredibly organized, it was just Hitler that kept fucking things up and changing directives.

Not really, that is just a myth.
The Wehrmacht lacked logistics transportation, because they didn't have enough trucks. Even after stealing all they could from invaded countries.
Also, most German officers wanted to be on the field fighting, because that was where the glory was. This meant that the best and brightest would choose field commissions.
So the jobs of logistics, were left for officers with lower skills.
It wasn't so much General Winter that defeated the Germans. The Germans did a lot to screw themselves over with bad logistics.
But the Russians were even worse at it.

One interesting bit of news today is that it appears Ukraine used HIMARS to destroy logistics infrastructure in Starobilsk. For those who don't know, the city is in Luhansk and is a crossroad of trains and roads - more or less at the same latitude that svatove but further east. That has been a possibility ever since the front stabilized in its current situation not long after the liberation of Lyman, which suggests up to now they didn't feel safe risking the HIMARS units on that front.

Mysterious man in black appears to kill surrendered Russian soldiers.

Ukrainian authorities haven't commented on it yet. Russia has naturally leapt on it.
Video clearly shows one of the russian faking surrender and starts shooting at the Ukrainians.

It was a fake surrender, the last guy out of the building started shooting.

Yeah, the situation does seem to be that way. A Russian coming out of where the other Russians came from and firing at the Ukrainians.

The different, black kit suggests a non-conventional soldier, possibly an enforcer of some kind.

The question is though, who killed the Russians on the ground.
If it was some sort of enforcer, he could well have done it. Or was it the Ukrainians? If so, how appropriate was the response (i.e. did any of the surrendering soldiers try to get up?)

We'll probably never know, as even for the Ukrainian soldiers it's probably a blur.

What is clear is that what almost certainly appears to be a Russian opens fire towards the Ukrainians, which is perfidy and therefore put all of the lives of the Russian squad at risk (practically and legally).

Both your tones come across as a bit accusatory, which isn't great given the article I linked doesn't overtly blame anyone. Can we please have some discussion here?

It does seem like the guys on the ground probably were legitimately surrendering but as soon as captain genius came out and started shooting it wouldn’t matter if they were. You can’t surrender when the guy next to you is still shooting.

The video cuts off a second afterwards, and aside from that there’s only the arial video of the aftermath, so yeah some stuff obviously happened in between, but up to that last frame the Ukrainians were well within their rights to unload on them (and somehow they managed to not harm the chicken that was wandering around in the background).

Plenty of anecdotal evidence from previous conflicts where the wrong move has resulted in the deaths of surrendering soldiers. Twitchy, tired, stressed and anxious soldiers don't need much in the way of a trigger to unload on the enemy - especially when it's an enemy that has shown itself to be dishonourable scum at every turn.

There are far more examples of surrending soldiers being shot on the eastern front in WW2 than there are on the western front.

Yeah, dunno why we need a forensic analysis of all this. Anyone getting in a tizzy over some rapist orc who attempted to surrender (and in this case suicide squaded) is overthinking things.

Im seeing many reports that Putin might be planning on announcing another wave of mobilization soon, bigger than the first. He really is hellbent on destroying Russia isn't he?

Well my main concern actually was for the welfare of the Ukrainians (one was in serious condition last I heard)…and the chicken.

But there’s obviously more to the story with chicken; the last frame you have a dozen soldiers and a guy holding a rifle…and a white chicken, the next an arial video of a bunch of dead Russians…and a white chicken proudly strutting about. From my frame by frame forensic analysis of the footage it is now obvious that Ukraine has created the worlds first lethal combat chicken.

Stupid orc gets other orcs killed by Ukrainians who opened up a wall of lead on them, fuck all to see here or discuss.

That grenade taking out the cunt on the shore... Ouch, that was a bloody awful way to go and well, hell slap it into him, hopefully that video is shared throughout Ruzzia so that the other stupid orcs can see the sort of death that awaits them, abandoned by their own comrades and sent to die an agonizing death by a government that views them as nothing more than meat to slow the onslaught of the Ukrainians.. I can't feel one ounce of sympathy for their plight

Along with that and the “grenade face” video it’s something where I can feel empathy for the suffering russians especially when death is going to be slow and agonizing, and even a bit where the people surrendering in the other video might not know captain asshat with the rifle was coming in behind them fucking the whole platoon.

The problem with the video for warning purposes though is russian propaganda is where everything gets spun the opposite. The russians see that video, it’s basically edited to: ‘see you give up and they just slaughter you’ (without the Rambo wannabe part) and they’ll hammer in that propaganda non-stop. Doesn’t matter if you can poke holes in it, regular russians can’t legally read or watch it anyways.

Hi, do you mind sharing a link with the video of the grenade? I'm curious to see it.
