After assaulting the Russian positions, wounded occupiers waited for evacuation all day. No one came for them except for the 3rd Assault Brigade.
The assault was carried out near Bakhmut by the Myron platoon of the 2nd Company of the 2nd Assault Battalion.

Update on Kozachi Laheri (Cossack Camp), left bank, occupied Kherson, Ukraine
AFU forces have established a sustainable bridgehead to the west of the town of Kozachi Laheri. Evidence of this is the level at which the AFU is sending reinforcements there from the 126th Territorial Defense Brigade. This appears to be a strategic change from the marine and SOF units previously used in the cross-river assaults. Russian sources have also describe seeing "boat after boat" being sent there to deliver reinforcements and remove any wounded for treatment and, unfortunately, any KIA's.
On their part, the Russian forces continue attempts to dislodged AFU forces but are under constant and intense artillery fire from the right bank and mortar fire from units at the bridgehead. The AFU has also been targeting nearby Russian assembly areas, logistics points and ammunition dumps in Radens'k, Oleshky and Nova Kakhovka that are used in support of their units in the local AO (Oleshky and Kozachi Laheri).

The Russian commander of the #1822 battalion from Samara city, Major Tomov, who disappeared 5 days ago, resurfaced alive on the Ukrainian side. In this video he helps the Ukrainian officers by disclosing and putting on the map the Russian positions and fortifications along the eastern bank of the Dnipro river. When you have one side that values the life of each and every one of its soldiers facing one that couldn't give a damn about theirs, you have a recipe for a stalemate.

Right now the Ukrainians are facing little more than disposable bullet sponges led by callous commanders who, for the time being, are able to replace losses with the next supply of cannon fodder.
Not to mention the Russians don't know how to actually conduct war. All they are doing is holding on the land they took at the start of the war by laying mines and kong range artillery .

If they do go on the offensive, all they do is blast cities to dust with long range artillery or throw untrained meat.

A training centre in Tambov, Russia, has hung a banner showing a 'new Russian empire' comprising all of central and eastern Europe, a re-divided Germany, Finland, central Asia, Mongolia and Alaska, with the slogan "We will teach you to love the Motherland". The banner has been displayed at Tambov's Training Centre no. 266, which trains tractor, forklift and truck drivers. It shows the old Soviet Union plus the former Warsaw Pact countries, the former Yugoslavia, Greece, Finland, Mongolia and Alaska as part of a unified Russia. The map seems to be intended to be a mashup of the old USSR plus the old Russian empire, which included Alaska until 1867. However, it's quite unhistorical – Greece and the former Yugoslavia were never under Russian or Soviet rule.

Wonder what the Western Vatnik's think of that..."bu bu bu bu but NATO expansion"...

It's because of this Russian imperialistic ideology, that we need NATO so much.

BTW, I'm surprised the guy didn't include California, because they did build a couple of colony towns there in the XVIII century.
If Russia needs so much "vital space" they might just add every place that had a Russian at any moment.

Look at that fucking shithole dump. The shitty cars, the unopened cardboard boxes on the fucking ground without any pallets. Why the hell do they need to use forklifts then? They just pierce the boxes over there or what?

Yea, the western world should really start to build up a new more robust alliance. I think many have been vary about EU having its own military, but I think with the new threat its under we should really integrate into a more cohesive union. Really act together even with our differences. Just by numbers EU dwarfs ruZZia in everyway. We should really act like it.

I think just like one thing needed to happen to give everyone a reason. We inch ever closer to mega-governments because Russia had to go and squander that post-WW2 equilibrium we had the luxury of growing complacent in. Thanks, Russia

Two Russians accused of disseminating propaganda on behalf of the Wagner mercenary group in two Polish cities have been arrested and charged with espionage, Interior Minister Mariusz Kaminski said on Monday.
They fly-posted around 300 leaflets in Krakow and Warsaw, which were among around 3,000 pro-Wagner items of propaganda in their possession, the press office of the minister responsible for coordinating special services said in a statement.
"Both were charged with espionage, among other things," Kaminski wrote on messaging platform X, formerly known as Twitter.
Mercenaries of the Wagner Group have served as shock troops in Ukraine and are expanding their presence in West Africa. Their owner Yevgeny Prigozhin led a failed mutiny against the Russian army's top brass in June.
Wagner soldiers have also begun training with the Belarus army, and are being moved close to NATO's eastern flank to destabilise the military alliance, Poland's prime minister said in early August.
The detained suspects, named only as Aleksiej T. and Andriej G., photographed the sites they covered with propaganda materials, and were to be paid for their work by Russian authorities, the ministry press office said.
"In total, they were to receive up to 500,000 roubles ($4,930) for the commissioned tasks," it said.
Prosecutors charged them with "activities for foreign intelligence against Poland" as well as association with and recruitment for a mercenary service banned under international law, and the promotion of symbols and names supporting Russia's aggression in Ukraine, the press office said.
The men, who were planning to leave Poland on Aug. 12, were remanded in pre-trial custody and face up to 10 years in prison if convicted, it said.

Better to lock them up and throw away the key.

Mr. Community
Reportedly a secon beach head, somewhat north of the previous one, has been secured.

Suddenly russian army is being forced to do something it does not do well: improvise and adapt.

This area has seen significant mobilization and cracks in society are starting to appear. There have been significant power and water disruptions here too. This will only add to the problems.

The end of the middle article article cracked me up.

is known for the stark beauty of its mountain landscapes, for its many small ethnic groups and for a violent and long-simmering Islamist insurgency.

It's like, I like long walks in the park, ethnic food, AND JIHAD!

If the new Iran-USA deal goes through it will probably mean a huge hit to Russian oil.
And considering how much the Russian economy is dependent on oil to maintain the war effort, this might be very bad for Russia and very good for Ukraine.

Godspeed, explains why they seem to have made a larger push?

"The Ukrainian air assault forces finally have deployed their most powerful unit. The 2,000-person 82nd Air Assault Brigade, which is stacked with Marder and Stryker fighting vehicles and Challenger 2 tanks, rolled into action around Robotyne, in southern Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia Oblast, apparently in the last few days."

Those minefields though..

Yeah those mines Are a pretty smart move, laying them so close to each other by the Russians … sadly . But it looks Ukraine is getting
momentum, hopefully the can split the Russian forces in 2 by reaching the sea.

I doubt the U.S., UK or other NATO countries are going to be fighting a war against entrenched minefields in the next decade, so might as well send Ukraine every single functional de mining vehicle they can lay their hands on.

Find a way to make the deminers remote controlled and use counter battery radars to sniff for opposing artillery while they work.

That’s how to get things going

47th Mechanized has another Russian Kamov Ka-52 downed.

Ukrainian engineers have developed special shoe overlays to protect the lives of sappers working on demining operations

I dont know if true, but very interesting, 80,000 GLSDBs for Ukraine with deliveries of 6000 per month starting September, plus everything else, is insane if true.

Also, holy smokes, fundraising campaign for 10,000 kamikaze drones closed in 3 days.
Ukrainians have donated UAH 235 million (US$6.3 million) in three days to a fundraising initiative organised by UNITED24 platform, Come Back Alive Foundation and Monobank to buy 10,000 kamikaze drones.

We don’t know , could all be false information. And to be honest USA intelligence also thought Ukraine would fall within 1 week, when Russia invaded, so there is that. We will see.

It’s going slow but they are now picking up steam.
They are also doing it without air support , the take away is why is the west so slow with giving them everything? Like air-support , fighter jets. Ukraine is make progress even without all this .

We the West are also to blame for this slow progress. Apparently we want it like this … I said this from the beginning , send everything. Hittler 2 is nocking at your door.

Or just the WP getting it completely wrong like last year on the totally doomed Kherson offensive. Written by the same guy.

The soldiers said they lacked the artillery needed to dislodge Russia’s entrenched forces and described a yawning technology gap with their better-equipped adversaries.

Russian tanks emerged from newly built cement fortifications to blast infantry with large-caliber artillery, the wounded Ukrainian soldiers said. The vehicles would then shrink back beneath the concrete shelters, shielded from mortar and rocket fire.
Counter-battery radar systems automatically detected and located Ukrainians who were targeting the Russians with projectiles, unleashing a barrage of artillery fire in response.
Russian hacking tools hijacked the drones of Ukrainian operators, who saw their aircraft drift away helplessly behind enemy lines.

Chipping away..

On Thursday, Ukrainian troops shot down two Russian attack helicopters.
The shoot-downs were especially sweet for the Ukrainian army’s 47th Mechanized Brigade.
Firing a Swedish-made Saab RBS-70 laser-guided missile, 47th Brigade troopers shot down a Ka-52, reportedly killing one of the two crew. The same day, Ukrainian forces also shot down another Ka-52 around Bakhmut in eastern Ukraine.

Russian state media reporting a huge fire at Novorossiysk’ oil terminal, which is Russia’s main oil export hub in the area as well as the route by which the majority of Kazakh oil hits world markets. Unclear if drone strikes involved

Americans say Ukraine won’t achieve its goals… because Americans won’t give them what they need to do it.

Thanks Americans!
Joint war games conducted by the U.S., British and Ukrainian militaries anticipated such losses but envisioned Kyiv accepting the casualties as the cost of piercing through Russia’s main defensive line, said U.S. and Western officials.

But Ukraine chose to stem the losses on the battlefield and switch to a tactic of relying on smaller units to push forward across different areas of the front. That resulted in Ukraine making incremental gains in different pockets over the summer.

So apparently, it was expected to be doable with the resources given, but Kyiv couldn't stand taking the losses necessary and switched tactics.

Of course, it would be better to have the necessary tools to take a more decisive victory and minimize losses entirely. But, at least according to this article, the rate that they were using up stuff (and lives) was according to plan, but they got squeamish?
