Ryse Son of Rome coming to PC this fall [no port begging other games]

If more and more Xbox One exclusives start coming to PC, won't that sort of diminish the impact of the Xbox One platform? Good move either way, as it will be if Halo Master Chief Collection comes out on PC too.

The game is boring as hell, but the faces and their animations looked really, really good.
Sadly they won't implement many improvements if the eurogamer-screens represent the final product. Didn''t see differences besides the resolution and AA there.

According to their internal documentation the texture resolution on their character models was scaled down on XB1. THe PC will have better textures and of course... all teh Cvars cranked.

I'm not sure why people care about them not benefitting from this either (oh no more exclusives for them). Consumers benefit which we all are and that's all we should care about as a forum of consumers.

Because MS tried to trix0rz every1s with teh DEE-ARRRGH-EMMZ, so tehy stupid for br1ngz Ryse to PC!

Or something like that.

Great news! I loved it on my Xbox One, and i just wanted to replay it, but now i'll wait for the PC version. Men this is going to be jaw dropping on PC

Now people can stop hating on a damn good game.

Nope, still think it looks awfully boring. It's a bit silly to think all those opinions were based on what format the game was made for.

I would have loved to see the theme and setting for this game be applied to an action game that had open levels like Crysis 1 though. That would be a game I would be prepared to buy and play.

Good. So practically every Xbone exclusive has a chance of having a PC release in the future. That's very good, I'm happy with my decision of getting a new PC this Fall.

It's not awful.

Yeah, I actually enjoyed Ryse. I wouldn't say it's awful, or even great. Maybe average? Basically, I was hooked on the story, and enjoyed the combat (even though it lacked depth)...but I still enjoyed the ride. It's definitely not worth $60 though.

Will they fix those those constant slowdowns [masked QTE-s] that happen at the end fights against inst every opponent?

Screen shots galore incoming. This is going to be fun.

MCC, SO and QB will probably land on the PC sometime in the future as well.

Someone said that MS have direct control over QB, so that is unlikely. However, Insomniac have total ownership of Sunset Overdrive. I would not be surprised if they ported it to everything they could do.

No it wouldn't, people that own PC's buy consoles for the exclusives, people that own a PS4 buy X1 for it's exclusives. Why would any PC gamer buy a X1 if it doesn't have any exclusives.

A super convenient set-top box that's part of a stable ecosystem? And I don't know that Microsoft or Sony have any exclusives right now that are actually selling consoles to anyone aside from gotta-have-it kids and ultra-enthusiasts with cash to burn.

Why not 900p then upscale it?

"Ryse runs at 1600x900 for best perf & res, we apply our upscaler for AA, framebuffer native 1080p. SAME as E3 Xbox One! No change, No compromise!"

Now, the interesting bit. Ali Moin, fromGearNuke.com, asked Yerli whether things might have been different had Ryse been created for the PlayStation 4.

"Native res > upscaled," Moin said. "Hypothetically, if the title was to be developed for PS4, would hit the same hurdle?"

Yerli's answer: "Yes as choice wasn't based on a hurdle. It's for efficiency as no perceived visual difference, as final output is 1080p."

So if its a choice (?) why is it 4k on pc's lol.

Just sayin..

I think it's more because gamers tend to attach more cachet to a mediocre exclusive than a decent multiplat. Some cats only seem to see consoles in terms of their exclusive titles. It's weird.

I'll get this when the price is down. The setting is interesting and it looks gorgeous. Combat seems a bit stiff but I'm sure it'll make for a few enjoyable hours.

Wasn't that the same case with Alan Wake? And look what happened there - amazing port a little while after. We can hope.

Look like any 3rd party exclusives on Xbone will have a chance to come to PC at this point. There is no reason for me to buy Xbone then.

Insomniac owns the IP so it's not completely out of the question really. It could even come to PS4 at some point. I wouldn't bet on it though.

I doubt this or Sunset Overdrive will appear on the PS4 considering they're published by Microsoft for the console release. I can't imagine console exclusivity not being a major part of that publishing agreement, which would supersede the freedom of doing what they want with their IP.

The DR3/Ryse PC ports suggest to me that there's only a timed exclusivity when it comes a potential PC release. It'd make sense that Insomniac would have a similar deal in place with SO, but who knows if they'll end up exercising that option (if they do have it) when the time comes.

Play on Hard and it's a lot more challenging and engaging. You can die pretty quickly if you mess up with the later enemies.

Gameplay is on par with a forgettable movie game tie in from 8 years ago. Its $5 bargin bin material at best.

I'm curious why they would continue porting this when all their other projects are at stake.

this is what happens most of the time when a developer owns their ip and can self publish. people were kidding themselves thinking dead rising/ryse will never release for other platforms. ms needs to create more 1st party studios

lol

Graphically it is ok. I don't see how people are impressed with static environments and high detail models in todays world, but * shrug *.

Gameplay wise though. Laughably bad. There was more depth in freakin Double Dragon on the NES then Ryse.

It is interesting all these exclusives going to the PC though.

This is one exclusive that the XBO should have kept. Its terrible. Downsampled screenshots will look nice though I guess lol.
