Damn, I'll have to look I know from memory that I have two pieces off the Adornments of the Ancestors set (greaves and gloves) but that is the Arcana set.

Well, you can have the Faladil's boots I have if you need 'em. Like I said, I don't have much use for them with my focus on Pyro. If you happen to find a piece of the Celdrahil's set I need later on, that would be great in return.

Overall this game is my new crack and def worht the 60 dollars. You get so much damn content its not even funny. I do have some issues like character movement freezing at random, and some other odd moments or graphical glitches. Aside from this though game has been really, really good to me.

:D

This is REALLY starting to piss me off. Was happening a ton to me yesterday (wasn't in multi-player).

Quick question that I think should be pretty obvious and probably already answered but I missed it.

I assume you can continue your game and do the side quests once you've finished the main quest line?

Is this cheating?

I'm playing on silver with a level 9 dryad, although I'm a bit of a noob having only played BG-DA before. When I got sent on a long overland quest from Thylissium up toward the northeast, I kept getting killed before I finally made it to a resurrection monolith. After that I tried doing a mad dash past all enemies, and ran all the way to the next monolith trailing a dozen or more red arrows behind me on the radar. By the time I made it to the monolith, most of them had dropped off and I only had to kill a few and then activate the monolith.

I realize the point of the game is hack and slash, but I just got frustrated for a while and I was afraid I'd never cover the long distance to the quest objective. :lol

It's fine lol...I did that once this weekend on an escort quest...at one point,I knew if I tried to kill all the crap I had aggroed I would die and so would the little brat so I just kept on running to the city and made it ;P (I had one of those ennemies with a bright yellow circle around them that need some special stuff to kill fast, otherwise the fight lasts forever) :lol

I'm pretty convinced that's what the mounts are made for :lol If I had to fight everything that was chasing me to get to the concert I'd still be playing! :D

Okay, I am getting confused a bit by some stats on equip.

Some armour will give me -10% fire damage over time
Some armoue have -10% fire damage over time with opponents

I don't really know how to differentiate them. Is it reduced fire damage over time done to me, done to the enemy, done FROM the enemy? Which is it?! Gragh

Damn it. I accidently discovered Chapter VII when I haven't even finished chapter 1. The only problem is the enemies are better and I'm levling quicker but when I go do the missions of chapter 1 I get no XP and all the enemies die with ridiculous ease. Sucky catch 22.

I know some people were talking about the blacksmith skill and how it doesn't let them blacksmith, though over on team xbox forum, the little guide they made for blacksmithing says

"Importand Note:

You can only smith at a blacksmith, not anywhere you are.
The "blacksmithing skill" improves the actual benefit you gain from the smiting though."

One other important note about blacksmitthing; you can't blacksmith things that you currently have equipped. It took me longer than it should have to figured that out.

Yes a very good point and one that should be pointed out. After going to a blacksmith about a dozen times and still not being able to forge, I sorta figured it out on my own. Still though. Good to know.

Musashi Wins!

FLAWLESS VICTOLY!
Yea, that messed me up too as you can have it equipped in the PC version.

I kind of wonder why they went 1080, there's a bit of screen tearing in my PS3 version too, but honestly, I get so wrapped into this game for long stretches, it all just fades away. Great game.

Pimpbaa said:
Why oh why did these guys to make this game render at 1080p. I bet it would run considerably smooth at 720p.

It's a good question, especially since high profile games like Halo 3 don't even bother rendering at 720P and look fine.

However, I have to say, the framerate in the 360 version is still pretty solid the vast majority of the time. It's not smooth as butter, but it is easily 30FPS most of the time. The only time it dips significantly is when there is a crazy amount of shit on the screen. Last night I had a few instances where it became pretty choppy for around 10 seconds. But that was also when there was:

3 Human Players
5 Skeleton Warrior Summoned
20 Orcs
1 Blizzard spell
2 Additional area effect spells
1 Doppleganer Grant Inquisitor
Numerous projectiles

It was an epic battle.

The Shadow Warrior is such a badass tank.

I want to make one of these guys. Though I'm so far timewise with my inquisotor that I will stick to him till I switch classes and start a new. Then... then it will be my time to shine with a shadow warrior!

The Inquisitor makes a pretty good tank too with his close combat arts and his buff spells.

My inquisitor currently has this awesome Alien mask/helmet, black robe, and a 3 star laser staff. He looks awesome and is fun to play.

I spent all the money I had for a horse (after selling everything in my inventory that wasn't essential) and then I got it killed not 5 minute later. :lol

Well I agree the inquistor has been fun. I think I just want a legion of undead warriors following me since it seems soooooo bad ass.

My inquistor uses the malestrom CA and I do some good damage with that and anyone it kills off I then make explode with my other CA move (forget the name at the moment) and it usually will finish off the rest of the guys. Love it!

I've been looking for a good diablo style game since Baldur's Gate on the PS2. how does this compare? it looks pretty damn good from what I've seen. how's the online play so far, smooth? is there any customization for characters aside from hair color? any differences between PS3/360 versions?

yea that's about it for now

Biggest flaw is that everywhere there is the statues you can teleport to there should be a gate. The game is way to big to travel some of the distances. If there was a gate at all those places you'd cut travel time at least in half.

HOLY FUCK it is SOOO satifying to finally beat that Kebold Chieftain motherfucking troll. That guy is one of the cheapest son of a bitches I have ever had to fight in a video game.

Took my high elf til level 19 and about 50 potions to bring his ass down. About 7 different tries as well.

And my reward for beating him? Some item exclusive for a different class.... isn't that a bitch!

Oh well, that fucker is done.

I also beat some flying winged griffen or something like that who I randomly stumbled on (another boss)

I started a Temple Guardian last night, and he is going to be a beast. A laser cannon on one arm, and a hammer in the other. It's like Too Human done right. :lol

Yeah, I'm level 23 on Silver difficulty, and Gold has already become worthless.

Made an agreement with another GAF member, refused to honor it because he was broke, but then had no problem continuing to buy video games.

Unless something amazing happens in the next 3 levels, I dont' know how gold could become worthless for me by level 23. I am level 20 and I need all the money I can find. I have an awesome 3 star rare weapon with three gold slots, but to forge an item in into it costs around $50,000 PER ITEM. And then there is all my armor slots that need blacksmithing, those runes I could use where trading 1 for 1 (which would be awesome since I would get the upgrades I need faster) costs like $30,000. Hell, potions alone now costs around 600 per pop. In short, if you don't know what to do with your money, give to me. I have PLENTY of uses for your money. :lol

That certainly ought to boost the Metacritic a few notches.

Well deserved. I'm not exaggerating when I say this is my favorite game this generation.

A friendly word of advice, which you might already be aware of. The arm cannon damage is NOT connected to the ranged weapon skill. I repeat, the arm cannon damage is NOT connected to the ranged weapon skill.

I'm not sure that it is my absolute favorite, but there is no doubt it would make my top five after 30 hours of play. My only real annoyance thus far is the language filter. I wasn't even trying to swear but when I made my evil Inquisitor last week--coincidentally just before all recent biblical CIA briefs became public knowledge--I named him "Dick Cheney." It wasn't until I already had him to level 10 or so that one of my friends let me know that the name just showed up as a bunch of comic book swear icons. So now I have a level 20 character that is named something like "%&@!" Had I know this, I'd used "Richard Cheney" instead.

So, is it connected with Any skill? I have a Temple Guardian (first character I made) that is only level 12 that I'm going to get back to soon.

I think I almost finally have everything figured out gameplay-wise after spending forever on the various boards and wiki's. The main thing I was getting stuck on was exactly what Attack and Defense do for you, and it's not what I thought:

-Your attack value is basically your odds of hitting the enemy; this has NO effect on the actual damage you deal when you hit enemies. This is why I would see Attack increases over a hundred when I pumped a bunch of skill points into a lore or whatever, but my overall damage rating with a sword (for example) stayed the same. I was also able to confirm this with my friend; I'm a Seraphim and he's a High Elf. My actual damage rating was only slightly higher than his (something like 135-180 overall vs his 115-140), and I was only doing slightly more damage then him, but he was missing a TON. Turned out my Attack value was like 300 more points then him, and at least right now I just about never miss.

-Your Defense value is basically another evade stat; it helps defend against you getting hit, but has NO bearing on the actual damage you take when you get hit. One of the developers basically broke it down like this: an enemy attacks; their attack first gets bumped across your Evade and/or Reflection stats, then your Defense stat, then if it gets through your Armor rating is what determines the actual damage dealt to you.

A good way of seeing all this in motion is by going to your Overview page and looking at the last enemies fought; those stats that you see regarding chance to hit, damage, etc will change in real-time based on what you have equipped, so if you change your equipment up you can look at the pages and see the actual realtime changes. This is good for determining things like if you want to go for a piece of armor that has a Defense bonus vs. an Armor bonus, etc.

Right now I've got a completely mapped out dual-wield Inquisitor going with a modified Soul Reaver, Purifying Chastisement and Frentic Fervor; I don't have the highest defense, but I basically can wade into huge mobs and just completely decimate them since the Attack and Defense bonus per soul for Soul Reaver stacks and it resets the timer for all of them (as far as I can tell) for every kill, Frentic Fervor jacks up my attack and attack speed, and if I actually take damage Purifying Chastiesement starts increasing my damage as my health gets lower o_O

My main I'm playing is a Seraphim exclusively with my buddy. Even though my damage output isn't super huge, my Defense/Armor/HP are really high and I basically just tank the hell out of shit. Right now I'm trying to actually put points into upping some of my more offensive abilities since I'm already pretty buffed out against damage since I went Sword + Shield instead of Dual Wield.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know this about the Attack and Defense values. This is the only real blight on the game. It doesn't really explain things to you very well, neither in game nor in the manual.
