Has anyone had any luck completing the quest "The Legendary Pirate Treasure?" I've done it all according to Sacred Wiki, but the log doesn't appear to be updating, and I haven't received any experience for completing it. Wondering if it is a common bug or just something that went crazy in my file.

Just ran into a broken quest.

It is the quest chain where you go to the old port and the lady tells you that the undead come out of the sewers and you need to go get the key from the general. I got the key, unlocked the door and after zoning everything on the screen except for the hud is black and I cant move. The only way to get out is to warp back into town. To make things worse the quest gives you 3 sidekicks and now I cant figure out how to get rid of them.

I ran into this same problem today. I just ran around with the soldier guys until they ran around aggroing enough crap to get themselves killed.

No idea how to actually complete the quest though. Did you ever get it done?

Welcome to every single escort mission in the entire game.

Did you actually read my post? I wasn't on an escort mission, I was talking about what happened to the henchmen guys I had after a quest bugged out on me.

I fail to see the difference.

You have a group of individuals you need to see safely from point A to point B, otherwise you fail the mission. Unless henchmen are something new that I have yet to encounter.

If you can't see the difference between being on a mission and not being on a mission, I don't think I can help you see it.

Is there a reason I can't dual wield? I knew something was wrong. I don't even see the option and my guy is pretty bad ass. I don't get it.

Ah, so you're telling me there is no connection between the "henchmen" and the "quest" you were having trouble with? As in, the henchmen dying is in no way directly connected to your failure of the quest?

EDIT: I think I see. You were responding to his post about the "quest" while separately mentioning your problem with henchmen, that were in no way connected to the completion of a quest.

This game is so buggy and frustrating to play sometimes yet I still keep playing it, lol. If I could actually play 4 players I would probably have 50 hours logged already.

EDIT: Ok rage is gone... In a21 inchTV SD with flat screen would it be hard to read or just impossible?

right.

really the point of the post was to find out if anyone knew of a way to avoid/fix the bug. The henchmen comment was just there because he said he didn't know what to do with his after the bug.

Unless something amazing happens in the next 3 levels, I dont' know how gold could become worthless for me by level 23. I am level 20 and I need all the money I can find. I have an awesome 3 star rare weapon with three gold slots, but to forge an item in into it costs around $50,000 PER ITEM. And then there is all my armor slots that need blacksmithing, those runes I could use where trading 1 for 1 (which would be awesome since I would get the upgrades I need faster) costs like $30,000. Hell, potions alone now costs around 600 per pop. In short, if you don't know what to do with your money, give to me. I have PLENTY of uses for your money. :lol

I saying,I just drop 40k on 2 relics. :lol

I'm finding this game too easy, playing on Silver. I *was* doing every sidequest, but I got tired of just steamrolling everything, so I decided to just barrel through the main quest without any grinding or excess killing until I actually hit some enemies that began presenting a challenge. OR until I beat the main quest, allowing me to re-roll on Gold. Whichever came first. :D

All enemies are red to me now (ie supposedly high-danger, high-threat), but I'm still two-shotting most everything. Just about the only real change is that I now need to use potions more often, but I have ~130 of them, so that's not an issue.

I wonder if it might be the Tactics skill just not being very balanced. Combat WAS more dynamic, but then I learned Tactics about put some points into it. It gave me an across-the-board melee damage increase of ~35% or something crazy. That's a huge increase in raw damage, just for a few attribute points.

Nope never figured it out. I hope you like the henchmen though because they will respawn with you every time you reload the game.

I saw a fix for the quest listed in the patch notes for the first patch.

they don't last very long - I've moved on from that area. I'm used to having skeletons follow me around anyway.

cool. I was considering restarting on silver anyway. Do they have an ETA for the patch?

All this thread does is making me REALLY want a console Dark Alliance/Champions of Norrath next-gen game :(.

I wanted both of those too. Then I played this game. Now I just want to play this game more instead. Seriously, if someone set down both of those sequels infront of me tomorrow, I would keep playing this game. Those games are just far more limited both in terms of lacking a fully realized open world to explore and the nuances of upgrading and acquiring new items. This game makes those games look like Gauntlet.

I don't think that is an exageration. The game is a little rough around the edges. The story presentation could definitely use work and the bugs suck (although game breaking bugs are very rare). But the gameplay, especially co-op, is fantastic.

I just lost my Wind Serpent while fighting

. I didn't die during the fight, but at one time it had me cornered and "jumped" me. My Wind Serpent was gone when I finally escaped...what a way to lose ~120,000 :(

You should be fine but you will have to sit very close to your TV,if it's anything below 27 inch...I also play the game on a shitty 19 inch Best Buy brand name LCD and I have to sit about 2 feet away to be able to read some of the text.

YES, me and my wife received an item ( depicted by a ? symbol) as a quest reward yesterday .. so coool ... :lol

that is all it is , item (?) worth 85gp , you can't equip it (even though it allows you to try it) .. no description other than "item" ..

the rest of the play time we kept joking about how awesome that item is .. :lol

Love this game though.. the save anytime, plus autosave really help in case of bad bugs. We played 14 hrs, made level 18 and only scaled 4% of the map and 8.1 % of the main questline ( light), currently just got to Thylissium. .. tons of fun to still follow :)
Though I am not sure I would enjoy this game as much in single player..

Do the mounts level with the player? I plan to start with a Seraphim and would love me a fierce sabertooth.

One thing Norrath had over this game: being able to choose the sex of your class and having a few customisation options such as hair etc. I really don't know which class to play as. Dryad is probably more my style but I'd rather have been able to play as a male varient on that class.

Yes. Supposedly (don't have one yet) they become more expensive with your levels as well, so try to get one early and don't let it die.

Game (even with the bugs) is addictive as all hell. I'm running extremely short on sleep. *yawn*

So nobody knows how dual wielding works. Maybe Shadow Warrior doesn't have the option? Anyone know?

According to the Wiki its an offensive secondary skill for the SW. You can only choose it, if one of your primary offensive skills (sword weapons/hafted weapons/pole arms or tactics lore) reaches lvl 5.

Question on skill distribution:
If I understand it right, you can only choose 12 skills from all skills overall for your character, is this right?
If so, I plan to buil my Seraphim as follows:
- Concentration
- Exalted Warrior Focus
- Celestial Magic Lore
- Celestial Magic Focus
- Sword Weapons
- Shiel Lore
- Armor Lore
- Spell Resistance
- Riding
- Assailing Somersault
- Battle Stance
- Radiant Pillar

Does that make sense? Any tips or hints?

Yeah. You know it. I just about thought I cleared out the whole starting map area and was just finishing up one or two quest and filling in the grey spots. BUT NOOOOoooOOOOooo More quests had to pop up, and I had to get close to leveling up...and....and! Yeah. :lol

It's only 10 skills isn't it?

I ran into a quest where I was supposed to go into an old port section of town that it overun with undead. I couln't unlock the large gates, even after talking to some Elf soldier, I think either I was doing it wrong or it was bugged. Luckily I am playing a High Elf so I just teleported into the area and it didn't break the game :lol :lol

You have to go around to the left side of the gate, but this quest line is currently broken. You will get so far and then when going underground, you will be welcomed to a black screen where you can promptly do nothing and then warp out via the map. Its a known bug and is going to be patched! Move along! :D

Guys, I think I might buy this game tomorrow (It's 23:31 right now, so yeah, a bit late to buy it today), but I'd like to know more about the character creation and customization.

When you choose a class, your character only has one kind of 'look' or you can change stuff like the hair and all that? Also, when you have other armors and whatnot, do they change your appearance or your character will always look the same?

And tell me more things about character creation and customization! I have absolutely no idea about this game, but if it's somewhere near Diablo II (I heard Sacred was pretty similar?) then I'm all over this one.

Unfortunatly character custimization is kept to a minimum. You picks your class, if your good or evil (two characters have no choice, they have to be good/evil) on the females you can change too like 1 or 2 other hairstyles, and colors. What god you want to be alligned with, etc. Thats about the extent of it. Yet don't let this bother you. You will be picking up massive loot drops with tons of armor peices that will definetly make your character look unique and stand out.

The writing will be tiny and blurry, and with so many stats and items and quests to read through it's probably just not feasible. Have you got Lost Planet by any chance, though? The writing size is similar so if you can read that you'll be fine with Sacred 2.

The post above me pretty much explains it :) As for armour and weapons, they will change the appearance of your character so you can customise in that sense.

So these don´t count? Is there a limit for those?
They don't take up one of the slots, they are part of the Combat Arts like Exalted Warrior for example. Are you in the UK? What console did you get it for? Also, your Seraphim build looks pretty good. I take it you're not going to dual wield?
