theres no real reason to think that the deal wasn't done months ago and is only just being announced now for PR reasons, happens all the time

I really, truly want to believe that Nibris is real. The evidence we have so far though, hasn't been too encouraging.
Seriously, a Polish dev team who only develop for Nintendo systems? Something tells me that this isn't about ensuring efficiencies of scale during the coding process.
I mean, this is really well done. If it's just some Polish kids from DeviantArt having some fun, they're churning out some intriguing stuff.
I don't know about you, but I'll try to spend the last remaining hours with my loved ones - maybe fervently praying to random deities.Frencherman said:Well Guys, what if all this shit is real and nibris will be releasing a great game in 2009???
Relaxed Muscle said:We have 6 minutes footage of Raid Over The River Their DS game, which is too good to be a fake, maybe is a homebrew game? which I doubt too being to good to be one. That's the best evidence so far they are what they claim to be. But there's a lot of things which looks suspicious at least, why their website has no info in 1 fucking year? They continuosly delaying their games, whe don't know anything of ROTRT since...7/8 months, and they game seemed almost finished back then or at least very advanced on his development.
The strange PR like this, annuncing games using some devianart user work....
Well this is true. It shouldn't be this way, but it's true. I just like to think that there are devs out there who have good business sense as well as creative talent. So far the artwork coming out of Nibris has been fantastic, so even if the story, gameplay and music all suck, it'll at least have an intriguing look.frankie_baby said:why is that so hard to believe, plenty of developers are fanboys too

alistairw said:Have done so. Should have an answer within 12 hours.
Now see, when I see footage like that, it gives me pause. I think that maybe, just maybe, Nibris is real, but the fact is that they're just a small startup with capital flow problems. Let's say they really do have trouble finding a publisher.frankie_baby said:ROTR has been given to another company

Though something tells me this won't end anything...

Maybe their stuff is really good with moneymaking potential but the guys running it are mortgaging their houses and eating noodles in order to keep the business going. Maybe they've had to halt development due to lack of funds. Maybe they've even sold an IP (ROtR) to keep afloat. Any number of these things could explain all the delays and inexplicable PR behaviour.

"Nibris has confirmed a few details people might have been wondering about. Recently there was an announcement that 'The Bloober Team' is working hard on a new WiiWare title called 'Last Flight'. Included in the report, though, was mention of Nibris' two Nintendo DS projects, Double Bloob and ROTR, which caused some confusion.
According to the Polish outfit, The Bloober Team is not working with Nibris and is "right now apart from us". However, the pleasing vertical shooter ROTR and quaint puzzle effort Double Bloob have not actually been sold, despite mixed reports across the Internet. The Bloober Team does have the rights for both games, though, with Nibris focusing solely on Sadness for Wii at the moment.
Finally, if anyone was unsure whether or not Nibris had any involvement in the Last Flight project, then the simple answer was 'No'."
Sadness uses same engine as Oblivion? :O :O

Someone please follow up on the engine because this is our time to catch them dead in their weasely little tracks.

jesusraz said:Also, Children of the Night (the one people keep talking about in terms of stolen artwork) has also been confirmed as 'only an idea', with the company solely focusing on Sadness.
Not my fault. The head of the company apologised to me about that as I was fed incorrect info, simple as that. It was an internal idea that seemingly never got past the conception stage.Ponn01 said:After you (if I remember right) was forced to confirm after releasing a press release from Nibris coming across as otherwise.
