It's fun as expected, but the helicopter controls are a let down after GTA IV. In fact every vehicle feels second rate compared to GTA IV in terms of inertia and feeling right. Even last gen GTA games had better controlling choppers. Also, the LOD system is glaringly apparent in aircraft and reminds me greatly of last gen GTA games.
Saying that, I've had a lot more fun because there's a lot more variety in the "just mucking around" department. Tossing grannies into the front of moving vehicles never gets old

I find them much easier to control than in GTAIV, and I can actually hit shit with it.
Controls are perfect for me..

In Mayhem you sort of find yourself standing running desperately to find something to destroy but it's only ever the occasional cop car, while in Insurance Fraud you goto the circle and theres just no traffic, you get traffic coming from 1 direction at a time if your lucky and even then I've found myself starting around with nothing to throw myself into. How are you supposed to beat lvl 6 when theres nothing to fucking get hit by? GAH

Well the secret to Mayhem is fences. Drive along a length of fence if you have a car, set satchel charges at regular intervals and blow them all together if you have them, worst case scenario you RPG the fence. The downer with the RPG is the reload time when compared to how quickly the combo meter empties when it gets high enough. Fences are your friend though, and primary source of raising your combo meter. Don't be afraid to blow other stuff too, benches, parking meters, light poles, mail boxes, tables, chairs. Blow anything not tied down.Mohonky said:Insurance Fraud and Mayhem are driving me mental right now, there's never enough around you. Why'd you even bother to order it online? You obviously would've had it days ago if you actually went to a store. :/Loudninja said:I hope my copy comes today, i been waiting 5 days

get to the bonus area and just throw yourself into vehicles over and over until you unlock the adrenaline mode. then line up with the biggest vehicle you see coming, and combo yourself off it for as long as possible.
mayhem is a fuckton easier or a bit dicier, it depends on the area you're in.
for the mayhem that alternates between the hotels & marina and suburbs areas, wait for it to be in the hotels and marina area, then go to the casino. go inside, go upstairs, and chain one long combo destroying everything inside, the slot machines, tables, the chandelier hanging, etc, then continue the combo downstairs, if you keep one combo going, you can get a million dollars in damage.
for the one that alternates between the factories, university and chinatown, there's an area when you make a right when entering the university area and then a right at the intersection that has an old, beat up wooden house with a wooden fence facing the backyard fences of several houses. combo all the fences in the area, this is quite a bit harder than casino due to cops flying at you with cars, but it's still doable.

George said:ARRGH! there is a glitch on one of the Ronin missions
first ronin mission shows you where it is. alternatively, it's near the top/right of the map in the hotel & marina district. huge building across from the boardwalk, limos outside, you can't miss it.cjelly said:Where's that?
Damn game, should have come with a paper map.
Go to the cashier and aim at them normally (not in fine aim), it'll begin after a few seconds.Linkhero1 said:I went into a store thinking that I can rob them and open up the safe, but I couldn't. Did they take that out or do I have to go further in the game?
Not me...George said:ARRGH! there is a glitch on one of the Ronin missions
on the mission laundry day once you bring the car and the gun to the lady and she starts driving she pulls a hard right and drives straight into the wall... backs up and then speeds right back into the wall she does the repeatedly until the car explodes
i have redone the mission from the start and from checkpoint like 10 times but its the same thing every time!
EDIT::lolok she didn't hit the wall this time... instead she did 100mph right into the water
anyone else having this problem?

Linkzg said:Just finished the game. Fucking awesome game that is just awesome.
And for comparison sake I'd say that this is better than GTA4 (there is no contest here), but I'm surprised by how good it actually is. Probably on par if not better than even the PS2 GTA games.
And while I like Stillwater and think that the changes were good enough from SR1, I hope that SR3 (which needs to happen and with a bigger budget) takes place in a new location.
