Anyone know if there is a way to manually reload weapons?

The "Final Countdown" song from 107.7 The Mix is so fucking ace. The first time I heard it was at the start of the flaming ATV activity. The song started from the beginning so I got the full dramatic effect. Now every time I hear it, it gets me pumped. :lol

You mean other than the way it tells you to in the manual and control config menu?

For the lazy, on default controls it's A (360) X (PS3).

After going through the first three main gang stories, there's a severe lack of Gat in this game. I mean, he's all over the Ronin missions yeah, but after >omg spoilerz< happens he isn't in the other two arcs at all.. Other than some audio snippets. We'll see what happens when I finish up the Ultor missions.

That said, I'm loving the new Saints Lieutenants. The Shaundi and Pierce rivalry for gathering info and setting up missions is hilarious :lol. Hell, Pierce on his own is a riot. Plus Carlos.. umm yeah. Well, thanks for breaking me out, dude!

All things considered, it seems that I've played through the game's arcs how you're suposed to. Ronin first, then Samedi, then Brotherhood. Since after the prison break you save Gat and this flows right into the Ronin missions. Then >omg spoilerz< happens and he's missing for the rest. On the other side of the spectrum, the Brotherhood ties right into the Ultor stuff, so you're "supposed" to do that last and the Samedi missions fight right in the middle.

Also,

I agree with this. Holy shit at some of the stuff that happens in the story. Can't wait to see the end.

God damn! After playing the game for over 38 hours since release I stopped playing for about 2 days, but today I had the day off so I popped SR2 and man...I REALLY love this game. The style, the FUN gameplay, even the colors/hue of the world are just win. Having my character sing to "Take On Me" makes me laugh no matter how many times I've heard him do it. I know they're 2 completely different games, but playing this after Far Cry 2 makes me appreciate just how much emphasis Volition put on making this game purely fun and entertaining. I finally put some cheats in and I've gotta say, Evil Cars+Ped War+Low Gravity+Infinite Ammo+Infinite Health is amazing. :lol

Total time logged is now at about 42 hours and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon.

Finished off the game a few mins ago and again, yeah..

that times a thousand. Holy shit @ the last confrontation scene.

I mostly did everything 'cept for the collect-a-thons and I didn't bother to buy up most of the businesses since I might need something to rob when the mood strikes. :lol Plus I already make 125k+ daily from what I own.. heh. The only "real" things I haven't tried in the Barnstorming and the Tow Truck missions.

Too many stats to list, but from the load screen:
93% completed
50hrs 42 mins
45/45 neighborhoods owned.

Anyway, loved the ride and will be back to it ASAP. Time for Dead Space though, as that hand's been calling to me through the plastic since I bought it at launch. :lol

I'm at 44/45 hoods owned but I am done with the 3 gang story lines. How can I grab the last one? Beat the game? I'm just hoping I didn't screw it up somehow.

I disagree. The shitty filtering in SR2 destroys any visual enhancements they made. The only time the game looks decent is inside buildings. As soon as you go outside, it's like permanent overcast (dull lifeless color).

I'm glad to see others feel the same way. I'm having a blast with the game, but it's a graphical downgrade from the first Saints Row in many ways. The original had deeper colors, stronger contrast and better lighting in general.

The Final Countdown came up for me as I was doing the
helicopter part
of the final mission. Absolutely epic.

That's normal. You'll get the last hood during the final set of missions.

Any advice on the celebrity bodyguard missions? At about rank 4 My celebrity is just getting hopelessly swarmed faster than I can toss/beat the guys.

Okay help GAF, I'm really getting pissed at this game.

How do I get bronze stars when I powerslide? I've tried slamming on the brakes and steering sharp when taking corners but it doesn't work.

I'm trying to complete Level 6 in the Escort Missions.

Thanks

Hmm.....that usually worked for me. Try holding down the accelerator even as you e-brake, might help.

Man, the downtown level 6 snatch is ridiculous in how many ronin come after me, even though I've wasted their entire gang already. :lol

This one seems even more difficult than the last one. I had real problems making it all the way through the activities on Saints Row (1). I think I might just switch to another activity - I'm really getting pissed, to the point of wanting to put the game away.

NEVERMIND!! I was using the brake and not the handbrake. Hurrrrr!!!!

Picked this up. It will be an interesting experiment. I loved GTA 4 and wasn't that big a fan of the first Saints Row however I'll keep an open mind. I'll post my impressions tomorrow after I put in some time with it tonight.

After having put in some time although still early I can say this game is pretty fun. I'll stop dissing the Saints Row Franchise. At first my reactions were fairly negative. The graphics are kinda ugly. The presentation and polish is weak in some areas. The lack of adjustable camera views, The silly clownish storyline, etc.

But the more you play it the more you enjoy it and more you appreciate how much of a game it truly is. It doesn't pretend to have higher pretensions of creating art that GTA does and it works for it. It's a pure game with lots of activies, lots of exploring, lots of unlocking, lots of customization, etc.

I now enjoy both franchises and they both have their place in the market. Two completely different experiences.

In case I miss any, there's a list in the info/stats menu. However:

Barnstorming
Ambulance EMT
Fire Truck
Ho-ing
Taxi Driver
Tow Truck
Combat Tricks
Driving Stunts
Base Jumping
Drive-by
Store Holds-Ups
Hostage
Mugging
Streaking
Flashing

..and the collect-a-thon stuff, which is:
CD Collection
Finding Secret Areas
Stunt Jumps
Tagging

..and Gambling:
Blackjack
Poker

edit:
Hmm.. is Zombie Uprising considered one? I just noticed I never finished it.

While I'm at, it I'll just list the Activities so it's all in one place.

Racing (boat/jetski/plane/chopper/car/bike)
Snatch
Escort
Drug Trafficking
Hitman
Insurance Fraud
Demolition Derby
Chop Shop
Crowd Control
Fight Club
FUZZ
Heli Assault
Septic Avenger
Trail Blazing

Plus, buying businesses, gaining and ultimately definding territory gained in missions and Strongholds.

When you list everything, man does this game have a shit-load of stuff to do. :lol

Any tips for insurance fraud? I've beaten downtown level 3 and factory level 2. I just can't get enough points. I do alright until about halfway through then I either run out of traffic, or a get run over for no points by a bunch of cars in a row which kills way too much time. :lol I just want more sprint damnit!

I haven't gotten around to insurance fraud in this one yet, but in the first game, this was the winning strategy:

1) get a cop car.
2) do head-on collisions with other cars in the contest area. preferably other cop cars and/or ambulances.
3) profit.

Go to a freeway and just get hit by a bunch of trucks.

Do you get anything from doing hostage diversions? I'm messing around with some of them and unlocked a few things. I'm loving all these unlockables.

For the record, this doesn't work, not even a tiny bit in SR2.

Restart until you get an area that has a freeway. Ignore the places where you get more Adrenaline, you'll get pushed out of there in a few seconds anyway. As soon as you reach the freeway start getting hit by trucks. Also if you get hit by one vehicle, then another without touching the ground, your points double (maybe triple sometimes) I've gotten around $200,000 in one combo by just bouncing around between trucks in adrenaline mode. It's very easy since you can control your body in the air.

Does this game have the same grinding requirements of the first before you can start certain missions? I gave up after a couple of hours as I found the minigames to be no fun.

Well there are loads of new activities in this game, all which I'd consider fun. I'd reccomend doing some activities anyway before you start the story, as you get some very sweet unlocks which come in handy when doing the story.

But no not really, if you've cleared a couple of activities you get alot of respect, especially if you buy sweet cars or nice clothes, you get a bonus each time.

Ho-ing - I found some hookers hear a petrol station and was able to start it.
Tow Truck - Steal a tow truck and press Y.
Mugging - Aimed a gun at a store owners head for 5 seconds then keep it aimed at them while they walk to the safe and open it.
Streaking - Go to your wardrobe, go to suits and remove all clothing.
Flashing - Buy a coat, take all clothes off except the coat.

Not sure about Barnstorming, Driving Stunts or Combat Tricks unless he means the basic driving stunts like jumping and stuff.

Driving Stunts and Combat Tricks are just that, things like wheelies or doing a punch combo. Barnstorming is a proper diversion but I don't know what it is :/

this game is lots of fun. Just bought it and immediately sank 6 hours straight into it. With all the variety on offer i wish it also included missions where you need to play detective and solve a crime. Basically more on foot stuff

Wow. I don't know if this was a bug but when I was playing the Fuzz activity I had to kill a guy with a flame suit on and the second he came into view my frame rate was SLAMMED and dropped to probably 3-4 FPS until he died.

Your Mugging explanation is wrong. What you're describing is just the regular store holdups.

Barnstorming- Grab a plane and fly through certain "stunt areas" to initiate it. Flying through hangers and out the other side, flying through windows in buildings under signs, bridges overpasses etc. Some areas can be done with choppers or the UFO.

Ho-ing- Gas station bathrooms and private booths in strip clubs.

Tow Truck- Yeah, grab a towtruck and the prompt will come up automatically.

Combat Tricks- Combos, finishers, headshots, nut shots, generally just killing gang members/people in fancy ways.

Driving Stunts- Self explanatory. Wheelies, powerslides, catching air, going up on two wheels with a car/truck etc.

Mugging- Walk up to someone on the street or elsewhere (easier if they're standing still or sitting) and use fine aim to aim at them. They'll notice you after a second, get scared and drop their cash and run.

Streaking- Yeah, that's right.

Flashing- You need a special "Flasher's Coat" which you can get in the costume shop in the Rounds Square Mall. Then just go to your wardrobe (you can do this in any store or hideout) and remove everything you're wearing and just put on the coat. It'll start automatically.

Love the game, but it's really annoying how I can only call my homies once every day or whatever it is. I don't get why they won't allow you to do all the missions with Johnny?

It can't be they don't want you to get help on every mission because you can use your regular homies whenever you want.

Meh, only a slight annoyance.

Haven't completed it yet so I can't post anymore or read anymore!

When is this hitting besides (This Fall? Or even later?)
