Saints Row The Third |OT| Oscar Worthy Gameplay

I've linked my psn to saintsrow.com so it automatically logs me into the site when I play the game basically.

I'll check if the photo even made it to the site.

So ever since the mission selection has "opened up" (meaning more than 1 available at a time), I've just realized that so far they've all been side activities masquerading as main story missions. This game is really starting to piss me off.

This was brought up in a few reviews I believe. I personally have no problem with it. I'm curious though, are you upset because you think you're selecting a story mission but end up playing an activity instead? Or is it that the activities in general aren't your cup of tea?

I noticed the same thing, but I think its just a way to introduce those side missions to you, after you do one it gives you the same "you have unlocked more side missions which can be found on your map" and then the next mission from that Saint is a different kind of mission either Story or Side.

The activities do kind of suck and I was doing them before they showed up as story missions. I just figured that the next 6+ missions wouldn't be MORE of the same boring shit I've been doing. I thought they would be actual story missions, what I had done up to that point. Something with a little more substance than what a Mayhem or Escort mission can deliver.

Yea I think this was their design intention. They expected people to just continue with story missions all the way up to this point. Then these 9(?) missions introduce you to all the possible side missions before going back to the story.

This is what I figured too. They slowly introduce new activities via the plot, then from that point on, the activity is optional. There have been some great plot missions so far.

Some of those probably just serve as semi tutorials for people that may not have done those activities yet.

Like one mission asked me to fix up a car, but I already knew how since I messed around with that beforehand. Just roll with it until all the semi-activity tutorials are done.

Picked up this cool shock hammer from one of the gangs but, for the life of me, I couldn't figure out how to store it in my crib. Every time I walked in, I just dropped it on the floor. Am I missing something? How do I stash that bad boy in my permanent collection (Playing on the 360 FYI)

The really awesome weapons are called "temp weapons" I believe, you can't keep them or bring them into a car.

I love how the airport is named Wesley Cutter and the Snipes 57 is still in the game. Anyone who doesn't get the references needs to watch passenger 57. Always bet on black.

Feels like a lot of the personality from the previous games is sadly gone at this point. I'm playing the PC version and it seems like the city is mostly void of people and cars; at least compared to the first two games. Also, it seems like a lot of the cool, random, ambient things are gone also. I remember in the first two games you could get your homies to just about aggro on anyone, made for some interesting mayhem. In this game they appear to only attack other gang members. Oddly enough, the city and interface almost appear to be too streamlined and slick, it makes everything kinda feel fake and synthetic to me. I much preferred the ghetto looking Stillwater from the other games.

I read that the Zombie cheat doesn't work in co-op

Is this true? If so, thats a HUGE disappointment...

I dunno, I have to respectfully disagree. There are loads of people walking the streets, I pickpocket them all the time. I've seen a few strange fights break out between NPCs, maybe not as much as SR2 but I've only been playing a few hours. Saw what looked like a couple of cop cars pulling over someone, flashing lights and all.

I also think Steelport is just as cool as Stilwater. I'm very impressed with downtown, the Saints HQ is a joy and there's plenty of run-down areas too. It's visually striking, though I'm sure some of that is due to the better graphics.

And I much prefer the new interface/UI. Fits the tone of the game. I guess that is fairly subjective though.

PC version here, too, FWIW.

Same. I easily completed the Streaking diversion in one go as I kept running into tons of people in the streets.

Also saw a cop pull out a guy from a pickup truck and throw him to the ground then blast him with a shotgun. He then went back to his car and drove off, lol.

Can you change your physical appearance later in the game?
I have seen Image as Designed stores around the map, so I am assuming you can. Those stores in the last games let you change your appearance. Just found a Planet Saints store, got some new clothes for my golden buddha boss. Now I just need to find the Let's Pretend store...

I am hoping this game has a lot of hidden locations to find like SR2...

So I'm picking up my preorder today and switchin to PS3. Question though, is there more character creation options in that initiation station thingy or can you do all of that in the main game?

I've only played for a couple of hours, but I have a really odd question to ask: is there no Garage at the Saints HQ? I can't seem to find one to store my cars in. I really hope it's not just a matter of me being an idiot, but I'm okay with that if the end result is I get to find out where the garage is.

Every crib has a garage. The garage in Saint's HQ is in a large parking garage you have to drive into from the street.

Anyone getting weird audio when trying to listen to the radio while driving? It sounds like either the radio, voices, or the car noise stutters while the radio is on.

If you're impatient like me, it's already under Keys in my GMG account. So go take a look if you don't feel like waiting for an email.

Just checked then and yep it was there. Quickly added it to steam and it pops up next time you load the game.

I loaded my game. Went outside my crib and found Professor Genki running around beating up every civilian in sight.

You may want to take him out for an extra monetary reward. ;)

Genki will show up randomly on the streets throughout your time in Steelport, but be careful. He's much more powerful than you may think...

Dudes on ATI cards, is performance still not very good or do the drivers they put out yesterday fix anything? Wanna pick this up tomorrow, but I don't know if I want to get the PC version or not.

So I had a spending spree this weekend and have AC Revelations, Skyrim and SR3 sitting on my desk. I finished AC asap because I'm so down on that series, I just had to.

Then I had to choose between Skyrim and SR3. I even bought the Skyrim 600 page guide as a companion to sink hundreds of hours into it. I thought I could just play an hour of SR3 before I dipped myself into Skyrim, and get back to SR3 during the weekends or with a friend....

...I'm still playing SR3 and haven't even touched Skyrim beyond the character creation and introductory quests. Holy hell. Why am I having so much fun while grinning like a stupid adolescent when dick jokes and purple penises fly through the screen?

A very surprising game (my first Saints Row). Shallow fun, but that's just what I craved for I guess!

I'd be willing to check it out, but I am never sure where to find the new drivers. =( Can a bro point me in the right direction for finding preview/beta drivers and stuff?

Haven't had a chance to try the new drivers yet myself but according to multiple people on the steam forums and on the official forums the new drivers don't change anything.

Any update on the Steam/Genki DLC situation? I preordered a while ago. :(

On a related note. I bought the game on GreenManGaming and they announced earlier that they would start emailing the DLC codes sometime today. Still haven't received the email but I just checked and the key is in my profile page on the website! Woot!

Two questions:
Do you have to be wearing the parachute to use it?
Do you have to complete a certain mission before you can store vehicles in your garage?

It was fixed at 10AM PST on launch day. Sorry about the wait.

All you should have to do is log out of steam, re-launch/log back in, and it should now be available.

Ah, that was the missing piece - I hadn't logged out of Steam. Thanks!

1. No
2. Once you get your crib, you can drive right up to the garage and store vehicles. Different places (hangars, docks, helipads) take different vehicles, obviously.

OneLetter, who should I alert to potential bugs? I noticed that if you set your Co-Op Options menu one way, then quick match into someone's game, those settings seem to change to whatever the game you join is using, and don't revert back to your choices when you exit and start a new co-op session. If you go back into that options menu, the options are switched around. This is the 360 version.

(A checkbox option to auto-reject cheat code users in your co-op game would be cool too...)
