Saints Row The Third |OT| Oscar Worthy Gameplay

I finished the game in 8:38. I did almost no side content. It's a bit on the short side, but overall I enjoyed it. SR3 is the most over the top game I have ever played.

I'm at 27 hours with doing all side content and the last mission twice and I'm still only at 99%, maybe you should go do those side missions and enjoy them :p

I agree that the side missions are a big chunk of the game. I've done a few. In general I'm not a side content person so I recognize that it's my fault the game is shorter for me.

Bought the game on PC from THQ's site for $24, which includes the Professor Genki and Season Pass DLC. Now for 3 of my other friends to purchase this and go nuts in game.

(German)-GAF, I bought this from the THQ site and now I can't activate the thing. Looks like there's MARVELOUS cenosred version for us Germans only, I'm so haaaaaaaaaaaaaaappy about that. Fuck.

Any way to play with the game I paid almost 20€ for?

Got this for 20 on GMG. I knew waiting would pay off. I was prepped to pay 30 a while ago but glad I was too broke. Thank you XMAS money!

I'm trying to pick it up on the THQ site but it keeps giving me "Payment Authorisation Failed"?

anyone know how to get past this issue?

nvm. randomly decided to work.

I think the game opened really good, but then it took a dip and it was only fun from time to time. I can't figure out why, but it lacks something.
So for me, SR2 is superior to SR3.

The last hour or so has really been a drop in quality. No insane missions, just boring activities like the insurance fraud, protecting drug deals, picking up hookers, etc...

I hope it picks up again soon because it started so strong.

It does; it's unfortunate but they want people to really know about the activities, so they force you to try every single one at least once (including the different iterations on the same one, like the different varieties of escort and trailblazing). This happens in the middle of the 1st and 2nd acts. From the end of the 2nd act onwards it's just crazy missions (not all are equally good, but they're pretty good).

Good to know. I understand introducing the side missions but it's really compromised the pacing of the main story and I've had to take a break because I'm so bored of them.

If every mission was as unique and insane as those prior to this section I probably could finish it in one sitting - I was having that much fun!

I suspect it's a budget thing. They probably had to justify creating the activities by forcing everyone to try them out at least once. Interviews on this game usually come down to budget issues, and how they couldn't afford to put things in that no one would see. In a perfect world, SR3 would have a GTA game's near-infinite budget.

Just picked it up from the THQ site. Fun stuff. I normally don't go for open world GTA crime games, but this one may be absurd enough to hold my interest.

I also picked it up through the THQ sale earlier today. Unfortunately, I due to some bug I don't seem to be getting very far. I am on an early mission, "Steelport Here I Am" but no matter which way I approach the mechanic from it is like my car hits an invisible barrier and just disappears. My character will just be standing there, but can't move in any direction. Beyond that, the game still acts fine. I can access the menu and the frame rate doesn't drop. When I try to exit the game it the screen then just goes black and I have to control+alt+delete and force shut the game down.

I guess it is karma for getting through Skyrim with no issues. So far I haven't found any solution online. I guess I might try reinstalling, although I really don't have much motivation to play through the first hour again.

Have you tried loading an earlier save? The first missions can be cleared pretty quickly if you skip the cutscenes.

Yeah, both my autosave and my one manual save hit the same issue. I guess you are right that the beginning of the game should be quick once I skip the cutscenes.

Sorry if I'm just reading wrong (not enough sleep and too much CHRISTMAS) but the PC version of the game uses Steamcloud for saves so you should be able to delete the game and reinstall it again without losing any progress.

This game can be played through in eight hours? I've played a dozen and I've only just stopped getting tutorial missions.

I guess that's the beauty of CO-OP.

Anyone have a pc save that's either finished or near the end that they would be willing to share? I accidentally deleted my saves and just want one to mess around with.

Well, I finished the SP last nice breaking the 30hr mark. I've got a few side activities left and about half the challenges to complete. All done by my lonesomes.

If there was more SP I'd play the shit out of it. So sad they didn't add a mission replay thingy in there.

This game is like the answer to my complete and utter dissatisfaction with the direction Rockstar has taken Grand Theft Auto in. I've played the game for over two hours and have only completed a few of the missions. Most of my time thus far has been spent just screwing around, fighting turf wars, buying property, slutting up the tart I made for the main character. It's so absurd and over-the-top, I love it.

I picked up SR3 from the Best Buy sale a couple of weeks back and I finally got around to beating both endings last night. My beef with the tutorial missions is that I'd already done a fair share of the side missions before I even did the official mission which was meant to serve as the tutorial. Made it rather easy and a little bit of an old hat by that point.

I also had 25 of 26 phone calls taken care of by the time the 26th came in. Some of those were flat out cheap. There was almost no verticality to the fights, but if there was, it was a cinch. I just used a tank for a handful of them.

All told though, the game was a blast!

My biggest beef with GTA IV (the original story) was that, after some time, you had this insane amount of money , nothing at all to buy and a main character which always lamented how broke he was.

Has anyone had the nut punch and take hostage buttons just not work right? I hit right stick in to nut punch and all he does is melee now. I have a gun in hand, go up to a guy, hit Y and nothing. Not sure what's going on.

Hmm maybe try saving, quitting and loading your save. I haven't had that issue, but that's what I'd do.

Thankfully reinstalling corrected my issue. And as was mentioned above, thanks to Steam Cloud didn't even have to restart. Really liking the game so far.

I've got a cash collectible icon by my first hideout, Shaundi's, and I'm wondering where the hell it is. I searched the buildings and the water by it but I can't find shit. Anyone know where it is? Is it a glitch?

Also, I need 3 more gang operations on the small island north of that location. However, the island is
overrun by zombies
so am I screwed? Or should the gang operations still show up? I haven't seen them.

I can look at my strategy guide when I get home late tonight and report back, but sorry off the top of my head I don't know. Sometimes they actually hide them in buildings, or on top.

I'd be shocked if the gang operations don't show up on Arapice Island after that whole thing, I think I would have heard of it.

did you check inside of stuff? they can be pretty well hidden, especially the ones in the makeshift caves.

Yeah, the ones that are hidden in caves by the water can be tricky. There are also some inside shops and buildings, only a couple though. A good amount are on top of buildings.

Game runs near perfect most of the time with everything maxed BUT get some drops to the upper 40's which doesn't feel really jarring but is there any settings on PC to lower that have little impact on some? I lowered MSAA to 4x and got a little boost but am hoping I can keep this at 60 most of the time if I can. How essential are high end reflections and such? I'm not a noob when it comes to this but with this game, I'm not sure what the best compromise to make is yet. I really don't mind the slight slowdown as I said, the game is 60fps damn near all the time. It looks really good minus some lower res textures.

I play with max settings and I get 30fps+ most of the time, which is fine, but I have noticed a weird "jerkiness" to the animation from time to time. If I stand watching the traffic the cars will pass by well, jerkily as if they're skipping a frame or two. It happens at 30fps or 40fps+. Any idea what the cause may be? Doesn't happen all the time but it's really irritating.

I've been playing this on and off for the past two weeks (and even moreso now with TOR) but I've been enjoying it a lot. It was losing some steam there for a while...then I hit deckers.die last night. Holy shit was that mission amazing - between
becoming a toilet, the arm cannon, the text adventure, the dragon with the sword
, just a batshit crazy, insanely fun mission.

It's a shame. If they can make 4 all like the first two hours of this game then game of the forever.

As it stands, it's a decent game with some great ideas, but too much padding it feels like. It must be a lot of work to put together those epic missions like at the start, I guess.
Assuming they don't have to completely build a new city for the next one, I'd expect a lot stronger missions for SR4. Same thing happened from SR1 -> SR2, the ability to focus more on filling the city with content rather than mostly having to build the city itself really showed.

Any fix on this direct x 10/11 prob I'm experiencing? When I try and boot the game up via direct x10/11 (recommended) it crashes. I have a card thats directx 10 compatible (gtx 260). I did a search and couldn't find any info. Any fixes? other than playing it in direct x 9. Thanks.
