Man, I haven't watched this in a month or so, wonder if the time to jump back in is now with all of the new characters. I wish I could somehow bet on the 360 Twitch app, I'd have it running on there all the time when I was playing on my laptop. It's not nearly as fun when you're not betting.
are there new characters in the update or is the song title in the loading screen the only new thing?

It's time to lose some money!
Today must have been the biggest day of upsets I've ever seen in my life. I got sent back to the bottom of the barrel thanks to going all in on Mad Dog against Drunk Rock Lee. Then I got kicked back even further.
Then I started betting on the underdogs. I got kicked up $3000 by betting (the newly added?) Yukari (from Azumanga Daioh) against Pan, who for some reason was facing against odds despite battling a DBZ. I won. After that for some completely inexplicable reason, a Creeper was going up against Cell. Figuring I had nothing to lose by going all in against another DBZ, I was shocked to see the fucking odds. The Creeper was somewhere at around $300,000 while Cell got $4,000,000.
Then the fucking thing suicide bombs killing Cell but leaving the Creeper at 1 HP. Three rounds in a row.
And I come out crawling from the salt mines with my head high and $17000 richer, the highest point I've ever been.

I made 10K thanks to that fight! It has an explosion that insta-kills the opponent and leaves it with 1 HP. Went all in with 2K and 1:8 odds agains imperfect Cell (seriously, why'd people bet on that Cell?).
EDIT: The 2K I bet on the creeper I got from Namek Gohan vs Ryu Tan. Dat Super Gohan move! I did bet on Yukari as well, but less than 100... I could've made so much money.

Man, to 3-0 Patchy we are talking of some broken tier stuff. (Or a seriously lucky guy who faced "boss" mode patchy and she failed to activate her boss stuff)
I get that the Pelican had a grab that was unescapable and healed it, but why did a second pelican appear mid-round and began attacking Ginyu?

FWIW I've tested PS and he is literally unkillable by normal characters.
Psycho Shredder was basically the benchmark for an old programming challenge among Mugen creators - whenever as character managed to beat it, the autors updated him to rise to the challenge.
I don't follow this much, but if he's entered the arena things are about to get craziers - maybe not flashier or prettier, or fun to look at, but certainly crazier...

I think there are two "Patchouli" characters. The one like "Remilia" and also 1 shots opponents (from what I've seen)and one that zones and plays normally. I watched that match and she didn't die in one hit in the first round even tho real Patchy has bad health and Shredder has major mexidamage.
I arrived late for the fight, but the chat reaction was amazing, looks like ChizuruXXX is quite something.
I guess it was real Patchy then... that doesn't make it any better.

No I'm saying it was Fake Patchy.
Real Patchy has bad health so she should die in one hit, especially in Round 1 (but she died in 2 hits). She also, from what I've seen, gets people into a cinematic super that one shots people; she does not fight "normally" or like other Touhous (from what I've seen). I'm fairly certain that that fight was Fake Patchy vs. Shredder.
Also from what little I've seen of both Patchy's, it's very hard to tell them apart. They both start off with japanese text above/around them that may be different (but I can't tell since it looks the same to me), they both are just "Patchouli" and there's not even any visible cues tbh.
