Question: I know mugen is a game itself, but would you consider SB a game? Like if it shows up on someone's top 10 list for 2013?

It's an engine you can play with, or set to play on its own.
Saltybets is no more of a game than "Olympics" or "World Cup" is - it contains and presents a game, but isn't one, unless you count the betting as a game, but that can apply to a lot of non-Mugen/fighting game things.

It would be cheaper to get Mugen and request the characters at Mugen Guild if all you want is to see certain matchups.

Might be one of the reasons why the character list is behind a paywall - the other being the opening of the site to copyright infringement legal action...

I have MUGEN and a ton of characters sure (I sent him a bunch for the last update) but there is an excitement to it in this environment. Not to mention that it's not as easy finding some characters now as it used to be, with the Megaupload shutdown and all, there's some characters on SB I still haven;t been able to find elsewhere.

Four bucks for a non-recurring month isn't killing me too much either.

edit: I guess my only disappointment is that it doesn't list individual character wins, like which character beat which, unless you really dig through the recent listings. I guess it wasn't really advertised but I thought it had something like that.
