Saudi Arabia to sue anyone who compares their justice system to ISIS

Way to make me tweet "Saudi Arabia: Your punishments are ISIS-like and reprehensible. Sue me and suck my dick."

Am I already dead? #Internetwarrior

Wahhabism is cancer to Islam.
I've been critical for years, I'm awaiting a lawsuit with interest.

I agree. ISIS and Saudi Arabia are a much bigger threat to Islam than they are to the West. ISIS especially is the worst thing to happen to Islam since the Mongols.

It's not policy to beat people for jaywalking. Get your head out of your ass.
Because it's not policy it should be ignored? It's not policy to ticket and jail minorities at a greater rate than whites (even though studies show they commit crimes at about the same rate). When dealing with and comparing the US judicial system to other places I don't think official policy is the only metric to go by.

You're right though. I shouldn't be bringing our fucked up system into a conversation where people are killed just for renouncing their religion.

Is Death by Stoning really acted out in SA?

It's apparently a disturbingly acceptable punishment for adultery. (/edit: If I remember correctly, the percentages are based on the number of people who support Sharia law, not the total number of people. The number of people supporting Sharia law is depending on the country in the region of 50% to 75%.)

This is why all talk from our politicians in the U.S. about the "war on terror" comes off as a sick joke to me. Unless we really go after the funding which seems to include big money and support from Saudi interests it's all just a never ending war. Pulling out all the stops to fight terrorism would mean pissing off lots of political and corporate allies, which most Americans aren't willing to do. Our strategy is about giving the appearance of being tough on terror while protecting other interests.

Saudi Arabia is a curse on the middle east and it's affiliated regions.

I'm waiting for the day that we can just call it Arabia.

Yeah they're not actually gonna be able to sue and win against a guy/gal on twitter halfway around for not liking their justice system.

Time for them to learn about the streisand effect.

Saudi Arabia is like ISIS, it's a cancer which will hopefully go into remission once they run out of oil

Sue them where? Which court? There own? This doesnt make any sense.

Hey maybe i can sue them for cutting of peoples hand and feet and whatnot, because thats something thats not legal here.

OP is missing a "sentence me to 100 lashes if old" sentence:

Makes a good list of places not to visit. Well, excepting maybe Turkey (unless a war with Russia happens).

Wish more people would discuss how messed up Saudi Arabia is as a country beyond just how women can't drive. That's the least of their problems, that country has several underlining human rights and judicial rights problems that hardly ever get talked about to the degree that they should be due to the happenings of Syria, Iraq, ISIS and etc. Of course proof is one thing, but its hard to ignore the faults of the country when they are committed right in front of you.

Maybe it's due to the United States being allied with them, and how their prince had a lot of stake in Fox, and still does for the most part. They aren't nearly talked about enough considering how messed up the country truly is in modern times.

Best wishes.

Things probably won't change until they run out of oil and the West has no more use for them.

Let us be honest, it is not like the West actually likes the Saudi regime.........except maybe the Bush family.....

Good. The Saudi government and ISIS are two sides of the same barbaric coin.

Its a shame Saudi Arabia has such oil wealth because otherwise it would be an international pariah.

What kind of a place executes people for sorcery?

Fucking sue me.

Guys, ISIS executes gay people by throwing them off of tall buildings whereas the Saudis execute them by public decapitation. Its apples and oranges!

I really don't see the Saudi monarchy surviving in the next 20 years.... and I don't mean because of foreign western powers since these very governments are two faced and if they want to ever do something they bring more harm then good

rather I see a collapse as the new generation of the country fully take hold

What are they gonna do, send agents all across the world to kidnap people slandering them on the internet?

They clearly don't know how the internet works if they think this is going to dissuade people. Fuck off, SA.

Goddamn stone ages. If humanity is still around I wonder how these stats will look a 100 years later.

They wouldn't be able to extradite anyone because most countries in Europe won't extradite to countries where there are forms of capital punishment, Russia & China won't extradite their own citizens, Japan would just laugh in their face, furthermore it would be easy to argue that the crime was commented in the country where the person is located thus Saudi laws do not apply, even if they decided to go to the host which would be Twitter, the T&C's & applicable laws for Twitter as a US company you would be protected by free speech laws, the Saudis can make up any laws they want but they do not apply to anyone that is not living in Saudi.

The low price of oil is really starting to bite now

neoGAF is based in the USA so we will be covered here anyway.
