On February 10th on the Cleveland UPN station, they spoke with Angle to help promote an upcoming Smackdown to be held in Cleveland. During the discussion, Angle mentioned that his match with Shawn Michaels (still unannounced, but a formality at this point) would be his retirement match. I first heard it from a friend of mine who saw it on TV. Then I read about it on some message boards across the net. It hasn’t made the rounds on the major internet sites yet, but that will come soon enough. The point is that Angle said himself that his career is coming to a close on April 3rd at WrestleMania XXI.

Well you know it had to happen eventually. I'd rather him go the way of Mick Foley (leaving hurt but not broken), unlike Dynamite Kid or, I predict, Shawn Michaels if he's not careful.

Kurt Angle is arguably the best all around wrestler I've ever seen. Mat skills, knowledge and timing to die for, intense as hell, and terrific mic skills and charisma. It'd be damn shame if he has to retire already. But yeah, better for him and his family to leave walking then in a wheelchair.

Kurts matches are always entertaining, one of the few men who have it all.

That saddens me. His matches with Austin and Benoit were some of the best ever.

Still, better for it to happen now while he's still semi healthy, than wait a few more years down the line and have him end up a cripple.
