Using that slogan should safely mean M3 stuff instead of just dropping the M2 family in the iMac, I hope. Also the events page is spooky lol

An overpriced pumpkin that the YouTube Apple Bros will jizz over and place it neatly next to their overpriced Mac, iPad, iPhone, Air Pods while they eat something on rye?

If they're doing an M3 MacBook Pro I'll hold off on m planned upgrade for it.

Wouldn't make much sense to use the Scary Fast slogan to just drop M2 into the iMac, so it sounds like M3 should be coming. And previous rumors from Gurman were that this year, the M3 line is flipped and the M3 Pro and Max for the Macbook Pros will be out before the M3 Air

This is a surprise. I think Apple will struggle to get the upgrade cycle going on the MacBook lineups, the M processors are just too good.

I have an M1 Max and I can’t foresee a reason to upgrade it unless you are into heavy, heavy video or 3D, in which case you would have a Studio or Pro anyway. The performance is flawless for normal users, and battery life fantastic. Also, Apple tends to only update industrial design of its laptops five years or so, so compelling physical features are doubtful. Even wear and tear is not an issue, my MacBook Pro is pristine as almost exclusively use it with the Apple Studio Monitor, keyboard and mouse.

I really hope so. I need to upgrade my MacBook in the next couple of months and an M3 Pro sooner rather than later would be amazing. I'd planned on M2 Pro due to timing, but this gives me hope I can get the most bang for my buck.

I don’t get the iSheep comments. Is Apple product quality as good as it was during Steve Jobs? NO! It is sad, but true.

Yet, in 2019 my wife wanted a MS Surface Notebook and I got a MacBook Air. The Surface is dead and my wife has claimed my MacBook Air. I am using my work PC (Dell p.o.s.) and an iPad Air w/ Magic KeyBoard.

IF someone is not a gamer or developer, than for most instances, the Mac seems superior. Why do people get bent on Apple? I am seriously asking.

Xbox Series X and PS5 are overpriced, EVERYTHING by Google and MS is overpriced. Valve is ridiculously priced. META is laughable at best.

IMO, all the tech is mostly overpriced. Yet, it is Apple who gets the hate. Granted, there stuff is usually pricier than Most. But it does seem to last the longest.

I find the discourse between Apple and Windows or Android vs iPhone exhausting.

And would like a clear answer without a fight or snotty answer. Can an Apple hater please clear this up For me?

Like the mind virus folks not realizing they just have a different mind virus, the standard sheep comments are just another form of being sheep

Ever since Apple Silicon especially, the power-sipping nature combined with fairly high performance completely changes the value prop too

Yeah, I love everything, I run Fedora, Mint, Ubuntu, Arch, Debian, Mac OS, Windows, give it to me all, let the plebs fight over nonsense, while I enjoy my OS hopping journey.

Apple seems the closest to one day running the same OS across Phone/TV/Gaming/Computer/ and TableT. I look forward to that day.

I don't see that they need to. The Unix and Darwin core, the core OS APIs, Metal etc are already the same across iOS, iPadOS, TvOS, macOS etc. They're each just tailored to the form factor. They made it easy to bring iPad apps back to the mac too

I wait with great anticipation for the big reveal of the thing I can’t afford that I wouldn’t buy even if I could.

And I’m not just shitting on Apple. I like their reveals and updates it’s just so expensive and I have zero use for anything like that in my daily life.

Hmm, I’ve put the Apple Studio Display on my Amazon shopping cart several times in the last few weeks. I work from home on an M1 air with an old white label 27” 1080p monitor. Sell me on the Studio Display. :D

I pretty much get all Apple products, but I must say that the Studio monitor is one that has delighted me most.

I now have three, one in each of my three home offices.

The integration with video calls, the single cable charging, display quality and design are all superb. It really transforms the laptop into an iMac. Except one that many people can use. And unlike the iMac you occasionally use and is constantly in need of updates, your laptop is always up to date.

It’s the perfect work from home setup.

I hope those new M3 MacBook pros are announced like the rumors say. I need a new one.

The M3 talk is timely given Qualcomm says the X Elite can beat M2 Max, and Nvidia entering the Windows ARM chip market in 2025. I wonder if Apple can keep ahead of those two, more competition entering the market than the old x86 market.

I picked up an M2 Mac Mini for Plex and some light productivity. The way this thing runs, I won’t be upgrading until sometime into the next decade. 🎉

If this turns out to be a new M3 Macbook Pro, I will be quite happy! Was hoping to pick one up sometime next year.

When do we think we'll get new iPad Pros? My 2018 model is starting to show its' age.
iPad Pro

iPad Pro 12.9" | First | 12.9" | A9X | 2015 | 16.7 | Discontinued June 2017

iPad Pro 12.9" | Second | 12.9" | A10X | 2017 | 17.0.3 | Discontinued November 2018

iPad Pro 12.9" | Third | 12.9" | A12X | 2018 | 17.0.3 | Discontinued March 2020

iPad Pro 12.9" | Fourth| 12.9"| A12Z| 2020| 17.0.3 | Discontinued April 2021

iPad Pro 12.9" | Fifth| 12.9"| M1 | 2021| 17.0.3 | Discontinued October 2022

iPad Pro 12.9" | Sixth | 12.9" | M2 | 2022| 17.0.3 | Currently Sold

We have had a number of them since 2018. Given the newest one just released last year, you can expect a new version in 2024.

I am sure your little buddy will remain by your side to drink beer, hang out with hookers, and play black jack with you.

I am still with my 2021 model and I don't see myself upgrading any time soon unless there is a massive QoL feature. It still feels like nothing uses the M1 power yet.

Performance is fine. The battery life isn't. Showing sings of wear and tear is another thing. Plus I want more storage. It's probably my favorite computing device ever or at least in the hall of fame with my Voodoo 2.

Looking forward to finally replace my shitty 2019 MBP i9 with an M3 Max!
No more thermal throttling after a meager 3 minutes of high cpu load.

“The test logs indicate Apple is readying a laptop with processor specifications similar to current models but with a larger, higher-resolution display…The chip in the new laptop has eight main processing cores and 10 graphics cores, just like the current M2. The computer also includes 8 gigabytes of memory…The CPU, or main computing processor, continues to be split up between four high-performance cores and four efficiency cores. And the Macs in testing are running macOS 14…The screen resolution for the laptop in testing — codenamed “Mac 15,3” — is equal to that of the 14-inch high-end MacBook Pro.”

This report was from April 2023 and he mis-interpreted as the then-unreleased 15” Macbook Air. but the 15” MBA ended up with a lower resolution screen and the model ID Mac14,15. So Mac15,3 we still haven’t seen or heard more about. So we're potentially seeing a M3 (regular) 14" Macbook Pro? That would be way more appealing than the 13" M2 one that has little over the Air since they don't throttle as bad without a fan as the Intel ones used to. If it kept the 13" Pro price and got ProMotion and miniLED that would be a pretty good one, stark contrast to the 13" Pro almost not making sense.

Oh shit, heavy focus on gaming? Go ahead and laugh, but I'd love to see Apple pull more titles into native mac ports and maybe even some Apple Silicon exclusives, would be even better if they had a fund for those efforts like the TV+ programming budget

Sooo Prooooo.

Do you reckon they have lots of data that there are still a load of Intel Mac users out there? They keep on banging on about them.

I don't particularly care about "space black" and will go with the traditional white/silver.

Beyond hyped! Been a long while since I upgraded my Macbook, this is as great a time as any. Then I can forget about Macbooks for another 10 years.

Most people keep a computer for 10+ years. It's not anything like the pace of new phones replacement.

Apple wants people off Intel Macs NOW, because they hope to cut off new Mac OS versions for Intel Macs entirely within the next 1-2 years.

I would imagine that the adoption rate of Intel Macs has not been nearly as fast as Apple would like, especially with inflation currently wrecking everything everywhere.

They haven't helped themselves with soldering everything down, so you have to get the spec you want exactly right at purchase (or upgrade, as I'm sure they'd love).

That soldering has been the cause of quite a bit of their performance gains, but the lack of upgradability is quite a downside.
