Did you design the cover art template yourself? Would you mind making one for Midnight Resistance?

Heres the art for it:

http://segaretro.org/images/3/32/MidnightResistance_JP_cover.jpg

And request fulfilled, getting my photoshop touch back. I haven't printed it out yet myself but here is a link to it.

I normally don't like trying to fill in the logos on artwork which is why I used to shy away from requests but this one was fairly easy to fill in the spots I needed to.

Also if anyone wants me to link to any of the earlier ones I made, I already have most uploaded to my imgur account so I can easily share if anyone wants them.

PS IV was $99.99 along with Virtrua Racer on release (Its why I waited on purchasing my copy of PS IV).

yup, i've been saying it here - PS IV was nearly $100 on release. again, day 1 copy, and i had enough change for the bus ride home on a $100 gift card. shit was crazy (and i didn't once complain).

Cross posting with the Master System thread...

Grabbed all these for $13 at a mall flea market this morning. Guy wanted $5 for Chiki Chiki Boys but the label had a little blemish and I offered $3. Hard to resist 2 for $5 Master System games either. hehe

I need AV cables for my Genesis 1 & Genesis 2. What do you recommend? from where should I buy the cables?
A few tips, in case you didn't know:

- The Genesis 1 only has mono sound through the A/V port. To get stereo, you'll have to get audio through the headphone jack.
- The Genesis 2 can do stereo out of the A/V port, but both mono and stereo A/V cables exist. Make sure you get a stereo cable.

i got a couple genesis/32x games today

the incredible hulk - never played as a kid and it actually has really good graphics
virtua racing 32x - man, hard to play now with the draw distance. but i loved this as a kid
xmen - classic

Got some nice flea market pickups today. Picked up a 32x and Sega CD. The 32x has vertical lines on the screen and the Sega CD doesn't boot. Lucky me! =D I guess the Sega CD is a fuse but this 32x I have a feeling isn't going to be easy. Haven't found the issue yet. This is what it looks like

I beat Hard Corps for the first time today (1cc with Sheena,

) and it ruled. One of my new favorite games on the platform, and definitely better than Contra Spirits.

Hard Corps is such a cool game.

I know someone was looking for Ristar. I noticed Sixfortyfive is selling the loose cart over in the Buy/Trade/Sell thread, so heads up.

yeah, that JP midnight resistance art is dope!

also congrats womp, amazing prices on some of my favorite SMS games, man!

Thanks :)

I'm kicking myself a bit for not grabbing the perfect copy of Blade Eagle 3D he had as well though....I didn't realize how uncommon it was.

Well, my Mega Amp has come in the mail. Tonight, surgery. Everyone wish Televator's former Model 2 Genesis good luck.

Good luck little fella! ;) See you on the other side. Where good audio is a reality.

Is the Mega Amp a thing for model 1s? Or just for model 2s?

Its universal. It'll benefit a late model 1 that shares the chips with a model 2 greatly. I'm having it done to a good model 1. The main gain I'm having it done for is the unfiltered audio (there are 2 versions of the mod. Filtered and unfiltered.) since I like how that sounds. The other reason is that I'm hoping the hissing noise that plagues models 1s will be deminished.

Edit: Though I guess mercutio is right that the boards are different.

Picked up all three Shinobi games for $25 off a guy on craigslist today. The Shinobi 3 is complete and mint. It looks like the instruction booklet was never opened. Pretty happy to grab these as they've been missing in my collection. Thought the price was really good considering the third game is going for $20 by itself these days.

Nice pickup. I love this trilogy.

I need to do this sometime to my model 2. Already play it on a pvm with rgb, might as well improve the audio too.

If I'm using a model 1, do I need to do this? Def want to make sure I get the best sound quality. Btw, it is the "high definition" version.

Depends on which revision you have. Even if you have a good revision, you might preffer to unfilter the audio in your genny... but that's a lot less of a necessity.

The mod was originally intended to bring good model 1quality audio to the model 2, but I turned out to be applicable in other ways.

How do I know which version of the model 1 I've got?

The easiest way to tell that you don't have the shity revision is to look at the back where everything plugs in. If you have an EXT port on the far left, great. If you have a blank rectangular space were an EXT port might fit on the far left, that's also good. If there is no space and the far left is occupied by the cannel switch and RF port... you got the stinker.

Is there a recommended wattage for soldering irons when repairing systems?

Edit: Ok time to check out the Shadow Dancer scoring system. Didnt think it might be different than usual...so challenge should be up soon.

Guess it'll give people time too.

So looks like I'm good?

Is it really that easy? I might try to track down an appropriate model 1, then.

Congrats!

I would have figured you had done that a long time ago.

I agree that it's better than Contra 3, which was my gold standard growing up. Now Hard Corps is probably my favorite Contra with the possible exception of Shattered Soldier.

NA version right? If so then good job! JP Hard Corps was neutered with a life bar making it stupid easy. :p

JP Contra is also stupid expensive for some weird reason. I think that and Vampire Killer are some of the most overpriced games on the system, well into AES range.

You sure it isn't the other way around? I'd have assumed the Japanese version would've released first.

Nope, that's how it went...

I used to be able to 1-life clear the US version with Ray and Sheena on any path, so I don't know why they put in the health meter in the first place.

What do you guys believe is the fair going rate for an authentic JP mega drive copy of Alien Solider? My usual source, pricecharting.com, can't accurately track it with all the reproductions that are in the marketplace.

Thanks! Yup, NA version. I have some games on the way, one of which is a JP copy of Shattered Soldier (there aren't any regional differences with that game right?), I'm lookin forward to putting real time into it whenever that may be.

And yeah I couldn't believe the prices on Vampire Killer last I looked. Sucks too, I'd love to own it.

How can anyone play Landstalker nowadays? I mean, the story isn't bad, the music is good, but its boring. Its boring, and isometric views suck, and its grindy if you don't wanna have a bad time in the 2nd half of the game.

By the way, before I go in on soldering a new fuse:

Anyone see anything wrong with my Sega CD model 2 board?

I've never seen a board for the system, so not sure if some of that "discoloration" on the chips or some of the residue(?) looking stuff on the smaller chips is normal over time type buildup or what. Didnt seem to have any actual corrosion or anything.
