I don't see Rockman Mega World. Throw it all in the trash.

Jaykay! I don't give a shit about rarity, but those are some great games.

I'm so bad at Alien Soldier. controls are way too complex for me, I wish it was simpler like other run n gun games.

It makes me not wanting it, and my wallet just sighed of relief.

Greatest thread ever.

I managed to buy Shadow Dancer twice over the years (forgot I had it), and after recently inspecting the two, I noticed a slight difference in the title font. Couldn't find much info about it, anybody know anything about this?

Pretty stoked, picked up Sonic 2 an ac adapter and a controller. Can't wait to take it home and hook it up to my CRT. Nothing beats playing the real game with the real controller. It had been years since I had done so. Never owned or beat Sonic 2, finally own it, gonna try and beat it for the next few days.

I recently made the same attempt...I advise switching to the sonic classics version of the game as it's pretty annoying experience to run into one of the game freezing bugs that are in the original version once you get good. I managed to get stuck in mid-air at one point and looked it up to find out thems the breaks with the original version...

I couldn't resist grabbing one of these to add to my Genesis/Megadrive console collection. It's pretty neat opening up a brand new console from the mid-90s. It's a very strange machine (PAL Asian).

That happens from time to time with different prints of a game.

Wow really, I had no idea. I had to use a continue but eventually was able to beat it that same day. Later that day a friend came over to try it out and it locked up in the first level. I thought it was the console but maybe it was the game. Hasn't done it since.

Super Sonic makes the freezes much easier to run into. I haven't finished my run due to losing hours on that and getting gimmicked at the death egg then going on vacation for a while.

Ok so ive neglected my MegaDrive collection for some years now, and thought i better start getting some other gems before the prices get stupid. This is what i have currently

What classic's am i missing, as i never grew up with a MegaDrive was more of a Nintendo man

You only have an empty quote box? Not much of a starting library, then :V

But seriously, I think you're bumping into some hotlink protection; I can't see your images.

What genres are you interested in, anyway? I mean, platformers are plentiful (the Sonic series, Aladdin, Shinobi III), run-and-guns are quite good (Contra: Hard Corps, Gunstar Heroes, Mega Turrican, Adventures of Batman and Robin), beat-em-ups are fantastic (Streets of Rage 2 is really all you need, although if you have a Mega CD, Final Fight CD is far better than the SNES version, with 2P co-op and all three fighters), and shmups are quite decent (I really need to get around to Thunder Force IV; I think a local store has a copy, was gonna check it out this weekend).

Never mind, images load now. Holy crap, you call that neglect? You've got a far better collection than I could ever hope for!

I had no idea what you were talking about. Then I found out today there are two versions of this game out there, and it turns out I have the revised version. I never experienced bugs of this sort.

I don't know how to check which version you have apart from opening the ROM with a Hex editor and checking the number starting at 0180: Original says GM 00001051-00 J and Rev1 says GM 00001051-01 QJ. I used a Retrode to access my cartridge ROM.

Double tap the fire button to cancel enemy projectiles and turn them into health, and liberally use the dodge mechanic to zip from side to side of the stage.

Even still, the game continues to kick my ass. I'd love a cart of this game, but I only have a North American Genny. Maybe I'll grab a repro some day, but for now I'm stuck playing it on the Wii VC.

I think it's the most insanely hardcore game I've ever played that still manages to be fair and fun. But yea, it definitely straddles that line into "unfair" territory.

*High Five*

I thought there was just something wrong with me.

I've always heard it was a Mega Man / Sonic hybrid by the creators of Pokémon. Sounds right up my alley, but I cannot get into it AT ALL.

From what I've played of it, it seems like someone decided to make a SNES game on genesis-- Sparsely populated (in terms of enemies) levels with big, bright, cartoony graphics. Haven't played much beyond the first stage, though. I like the art style plenty and I'd pick it up if I got a decent deal on it...not a big enough fan to pay nearly the going rate.

Well, I'm not sure about the stand alone cart, but the Sonic Classics cart that contains Sonic 1, 2, and Mean Bean Machine has the second rev with the bug fixes from what I was reading online. No crashes on that cart for me either.

You know what I didn't even think about the Emeralds... I realized on my play through that I had to ditch Tails if I wanted to get all the emeralds and I never did haha. Well gives me something else to do until my copy of Kings Bounty comes in the mail. :)

Makes you wonder why Coach K isn't the name of NBA Live these days.

Then again, isn't NBA Live these days kinda crap? Might be for the best.

Now that I have a flash cart I honestly want to just run through a selection of ROMs and record music from a real console, just to see how much it differs from typical emulators. And because I have nothing better to do with my life.

I've already messed around with the SF2 beta and was even more impressed with it on real hardware than I was in Fusion.

What's so impressive about it?
Basically that most tracks are just flat out better than the version that made it to retail, and some are very accurate to the CPS1 versions.

Instrument levels sound like they're balanced better on real hardware than in emulators, too.

I remember a time when no one really cared about Crusader Of Centy. Those were good times.

that's what i get for getting out of classic stuff (was kinda sour after having to sell mine for a while there); by the time i even learned about centy, it was $100+. good thing my repro cart works okay!
